I went with Leslie on the 4th year overnight hike at Young Women Camp. We had a lot of fun. I was thankful it didn't rain. We explored the camping area with the girls. We ate our dinners, though some of the noodles were raw and the others were burnt. We shared a one man tent and it was on a bit of an incline so by the morning we were kind of scrunched down. I heard some scuffling in the night and then some louuuuuud noises in the morning but I was too chicken AND COLD to get out of the tent to see what was moving around. Leslie found a "pet" butterfly and it followed her around the campsite. I returned home and Leslie continued enjoying camp. Later that week I returned to bring all the girls home. I love being with Leslie!

Camp week
The older boys and Dad went to Scout camp this week.
We enjoyed a tamer version of camping (just my style) with
homemade indoor oven s'mores,
(I don't have any pictures, they are usually gone way too fast!
But here's how: Put graham crackers on a cookie sheet, top with marshmallows, broil for a couple of minutes and watch carefully, then add chocolate pieces of your choice. We've done York peppermint, rolos, snickers, etc...!)
maps made out of tortillas (blue-food coloring in the Ranch dressing to make rivers),
Dutch oven cobbler,
sleepovers in sleeping bags in different siblings rooms, forts and tents made out of blankets,
and star-watching.........(no pictures, but lots of good memories)
Next up, Fablehaven week!
