I took Evelyn and Reuben out for a date tonight. I made them choose our activity/treat, and Evelyn chose ice cream at Baskin Robbins. She picked vanilla ice cream topped with gummy bears (why do kids do that, ewww) and Reuben and I shared a Trick or Treat kid cone topped with m&ms (his choice of topping). We had a great time, and left the shop somewhat cold in the Texas wind.
We came home to find this scorpion in the middle of our kitchen floor. It was dark, and I tried to pick it up thinking it was a dust bunny. When it moved... ugh. It was about the size of my pinky finger, but it still freaked me out and I had Jonas flush it.

you are quite lucky it didn't sting you. The real small ones with small pincers have greater toxicity in their venom. That could have been very bad. Please do me a favor and turn on the light and look closely before you pick anything up off the floor!

Scary! I have to wonder - How did it get inside? Good husband advice.
The kid date looked fun. What were the rest of the kids doing?
I love Bob's comment :)
I once moved the couch and saw what I thought was a little rubber lizard...as soon as I touched it it ran away, totally freaked me out.
Dresden, listen to your mother who says to listen and follow your husband's wise advice, Turn on the lights!!!! Oh goodness, be careful!
LOVE the smiles on both children's faces, love Evelyn's jewelry and love the ice cream date. (not so keen on the gummy bears).
LOVE you all!
