Sedikit sejarah Sylvac:
SylvaC was a Britain based company that produced ornamental pottery items and other decorative items. The company was founded by William Shaw and William Copestake, in 1894. Initially, the company was called Shaw and Copestake. Decorated vases, jugs, flower pots and toilet wares were some of the earlier products made by the company. Later, William Copestake left the company and his position was taken over by Richard Hull in 1895. This partnership led to the expansion of the company to a great extent.
In 1917, Reginald Thompson was hired as the decorating manager, whose artistic talent helped in developing the company. The company started producing different animal figures and the popular ones being rabbits and dogs. Rabbits were produced from 1930 till 1975. The rabbits were produced in various colours and glazes. Different shapes of rabbits included crouching rabbits, one ear up and down rabbits and comical rabbits.
Dogs of different breeds were made by SylvaC and around two hundred dog figures were produced. One of the famous dog models was the terrier figure. Other items made by SylvaC were Gnomes, Toby Jugs, advertising wares and tablewares. The company stopped the production in 1982. Today, the SylvaC pottery, SylvaC vase, SylvaC dog and other wares made by SylvaC are considered to be collector’s items.
