Indian Summer Pocket Page with "use your scraps" tips | Elle's Studio

Hello, I am back to share a new project and also show you how I "stretched my August Elle's Studio kit". After creating a full pocket page, two cards and a mini reading journal, I still had enough in my August kit to create this 12x12 page celebrating the end of Summer at the beach.

Supplies: August Kit, Fuchsia Jane Alphabet Cardstock Stickers, Jane Tile Alphabet Cardstock Stickers - Coral, Summer Cardstock Stickers, Cool Puffy Heart and Stars Stickers, Good Times 6x8.5 inch Paper Stack

Here are some of my tips to make the most of your kit leftovers:

1. Adapt the cards you have left by covering parts of them if the wording (or colors) doesn't match what you are documenting. Example: I used a label and diecut on the card below to cover a teal "best friends" wording.

2. Use patterned papers to create your own cards or background. Also, don't be afraid to cut up your leftover cards to add touches of colors or wording. What was a book spine on a card became a border in this pocket.

3. Layer your leftover diecuts and labels to add focal points around your page.

4. Dig in your stash of past kits and stickers. With Elle's Studio products you are guaranteed to find color matches!

5. Finally, use lots of photos so you need less tags :)

Feel free to share your own tips in the comments!

21 things to do in 2021 | From the Winter issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine

Hello friends! I am here to share one of the projects I created back in October for the Winter issue of SCT Magazine (downloadable for free HERE). It is on page 26 and part of an article on using numbers in designs. I had the idea to do a bucket type list for the new year into a pocket page using the pretty Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters collection (affiliate link).
I had fun looking forward to brighter days while coming up with a list of "21 things to do in 2021". Some of the items are still unrealistic at this point in the pandemic but I am hoping that going to a restaurant with friends or that traveling to visit my family will be possible before the end of the year!
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned paper, diet shapes, specialty paper, stickers: Heidi Swapp; Pen: Staedtler, Pocket page protector: October Afternoon; Letter stickers: American Crafts, Elle's Studio; Punch: Michael's; Font: Remington Noiseless; Adhesive: Kuretake Zig, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
If you don't already, I encourage you to write a list of things, big and small, you might like to do in 2021 and to document it! Even if not everything becomes a reality, it gives a snapshot of your thoughts and dreams at this point in time. Making it pretty is optional but very satisfying, I assure you!

Bahia Honda | from SCT Magazine Summer issue

Hello, I am taking a bit of a scrapbooking break at the moment but I still have one more pocket page to share with you. Like my previous share, this one was created for the Summer issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine which you can download for free. You'll find it on page 38 along with some tips and tricks to create eye-catching pocket pages.

Supplies: Cardstock: Basill Basics; Patterned papers, letter stickers: Heidi Swapp; Enamel dots: Doodlebug Design; Die-cut shapes, stickers: Elle's Studio, Heidi Swapp; Dies: Memory Box; Other: typewriter

I had the pleasure to work with another collection by Heidi Swapp for this page. I picked the Art Walk collection for its watercolor and tropical vibes. I also added a few other elements from Elle's Studio and Doodlebug for contrast.

Make sure to check out the article to read my tips and sign up for their newsletter so you won't miss the the Fall issue coming out on September 18th. You also might want to stop by the SCT blog where they are hosting awesome giveaways all month long!

A bientôt!

You did it!

Happy weekend friends! Today I have a special project to share: a 12x12 layout! It's been months since I created a layout! And a 12x12! What prompted this burst of inspiration, you ask? First, my favorite stash of mini-flairs from Feed Your Craft, second some Pink Paislee Fancy Free goodies I have been hoarding for the right photos and finally, the right photos from my son's graduation day :)

I used mini flairs from three different sets: "The best" from the Faves Mini flair set, "You did it!" from the Exclamations set and "Yay!" (which seems to be out of stock).
Don't wait and take advantage of the sale going on today: use code WEVEMOVED at check out and get 15% off your entire order! (ends midnight September 17th)
The rest of my supplies come from the Fancy Free Paige kit by Pink Paislee. I added texture by hand-stitching the die-cut heart and I love the result! I also added my own enamel dots and dark grey cardstock for the background. It makes the colors pop.
Those "mixed feelings" from my journaling? I still have them today... I am very proud of my eldest and wish him the best but so sad to be dropping him off to college tomorrow!!!  :(((((

Lil mermaid

I have a new layout to share with you today. The Imaginisce Design Team has been sharing projects with the new Parrrty Me Hearty collection over on their blog and this is my latest contribution:

I had these older photos of my niece by the pool to scrap and the softer side of the collection with mermaids and flowers was perfect for them.

I only used three sheets of patterned paper; “Seas the Day” is framing my page. I then layered “Mermaid Lagoon” and “Sirens Song” under my photos. Finally I cut the yellow circle from the center part of “Seas the Day”.

I added many elements from the die-cut pack that I like to mount on 3D foam tape to add a little dimension.
I love how everything coordinates so well, even the Thickers!

A little sewing, puffy stickers and enamel dots are my last touches, adding a little texture to the page.

Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate it!

Supply List:
Imaginisce patterned papers, puffy stickers, die cuts, Thickers and stickers (Par-r-rty Me Hearty), enamel dots; American Crafts cardstock; Freckled Fawn paper clip.

Epic moment

As the month ends, here is my last page with the All I Want for Christmas is You kits from Scraptastic and i think it's my favorite:

The design is based on the current sketch challenge on the Scraptastic blog. I just rotated the sketch in order to fit my three horizontal photos. The grouping of embellishments was the most fun to create.

If you give this sketch a try, share your link with me as I would love to see your version! I hope you're enjoying the last few days of 2015!

An Advent inspired page

It's Pinterest Monday today on the Scraptastic Club blog and I am sharing this new page created with the All I Want for Christmas is You kit and add-on (both sold out).  Go check out the inspiration piece and other DT interpretation!

If you don't have the time to create a full December Daily album you can easily summarize the month this way! The background paper, designed by Kaitlin Scheaffer, is a Scraptastic exclusive as well as the amazing acrylic snowflakes. I love them!
All I had to do was print black and white photos to the size of the squares (except for the tree that I wanted bigger and in color) and embellish other dates.

I hope you are documenting your December one way of another! Thank you for stopping by!

You are here (Pinterest inspired)

I just realized that I hadn't shared here this page created for a "Pinterest Monday" post on the Scraptastic Club blog a few days ago...
This was the inspiration piece (by LooseThreadDesign on Etsy):

What inspired me the most was the star shape and all the hand-stitching. I incorporated both on my page:
I used the October Riptide kit and add-on (both out of stock) as well as enamel dots from my stash. I hand stitched around the heart, around the banner piece and created five point stars using the Pretty Little Studio die-cut stars included in the kit as templates.

I am not on Pinterest as often as I used to (you can blame Instagram, again!) but I still love to look for inspiring pins so if you have some to share please let me know in the comments... Unless of course Instagram has taken you away as well! :) Have a wonderful weekend!

Celebrate

Hello friends! Today I am on the Scraptastic blog with a new page created with the beautiful Feels Like Home Main kit only:

When I opened my kit, I fell in love with those exclusive vellum leaves and that's what I grabbed first. I then cut some parts of the Pebbles DIY Home From Me to You paper and chose a few relating to my birthday photo. I layered my photo onto a Pebbles frame from the Ephemera pack included in the kit and arranged everything in a very linear pattern.
To break said pattern, I added embellishments over "the edges". I love the natural touch added by the cork bow and the wood veneers.
Without the hand stitching you can easily recreate this page in under 30 minutes.

As last words, I would like to thank all those who served and are serving today in the military, in this country, and abroad. Thank you and Merci!

Oh How Fun

I recently created this page with the Riptide kit and add-on from Scraptastic Club (both sold out) and it is a new favorite of mine :) The photo is not new but one I have been meaning to scrap for a while... it cracks me up.

I absolutely loved the colors in these kits, including the exclusive heart paper that you see on the background. It was refreshing to see a royal blue in a kit!
I had fun mixing textures with the embellishments from the kit (metal, transparencies, acrylics, chipboard, veneers) and adding hand stitching to the hearts in the background.

Thank you for stopping by! Create something fun and colorful today! :)

A Day in The Life or Ten on the Tenth!

Happy Friday my friends! I am on the Scraptastic Club blog today sharing this new spread:

I typically create a Month in Numbers page when I receive my This Life Noted kit but this time, I was inspired by #TenOnThe10th (launched last week by @francinecallaloosoup on Instagram) and decided to use the ten photos I had taken on October 10th to create a "A day in the life" page:

I loved the cards in the October kit so much that I barely embellished them. And the colors, oh the colors! But, my favorite thing was journaling directly on strips of thin washi tape.
As always, this is actually a "faux pocket page". I glued the cards on a 12x12 cardstock so that I can slide it in a regular page protector anywhere in my album (without worrying about the back side)... I have also added an office tag hidden under the title card to explain a bit more about what the page is about.
It might become a new series... who knows :)

Thank you for stoping by! I'll be back Sunday with a new card.

My Month in Numbers: August 2015

Here we are, one more month of 2015 behind us... and here I am with a new "fake pocket page" to showcase my month in numbers:

nathalie_August2015innumbers1200_TLNsep2015
I created this spread with the September This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club and the printable This Life Noted digital files (+ velum from my stash)

The highlights of this month are the time spent together close to home at the end of the summer, a quick getaway and going back to school.

☛ My Month In Numbers is an original idea by Julie Kirk that I have decided to use to document our lives through the year "a la Project Life" (minus the page protectors). You can view all my previous pages here. And you can see all the participants' entries on the Month in Numbers Pinterest board.

Thank you for stopping by!

Meet me in Chinatown

Happy Friday my friends! I am very much looking forward to the weekend: a baby shower, a night hike and a soccer game... oh and some form of scrapping too of course :) How about you?

Today I'd love to share a new double pager in one of my favorite formats: a traditional layout paired with a "fake" pocket page:

nathalie_meetmeinChinatown1200_SCsept2015

Both are created with the September "Skinny Love" kit and add-on from Scraptastic Club. The left page is based on the current sketch challenge over on the Scraptastic Facebook page (also see sketch below):

nathalie_mmetmeinChinatownpageone600_SCsept2015

I used a lot of lovely elements from the Crate Paper Wonder ephemera pack as well as the cutest puffy stickers from Pink Fresh Studios:

Before I go, here is a look at the sketch from Sketch Savvy on which the left page was based:

I hope to have inspired you in some way. As always, if you have any question, feel free to ask them in the comments. Have a lovely weekend!

Sweet Summer nights

I am not ready to give up on Summer yet... Plus, it felt right to scrap more Summer memories during the heat wave we just had!

nathalie_sweetsummernights_SCsep2015

This layout was created with the September "Skinny Love" main kit from Scraptastic Club and enamel dots from my stash. In my low-tech tradition, I drew and hand-cut the yellow stars out of card stock and part of my title out of patterned paper.
nathalie_sweetsummernightscloseup_SCsep2015

The page design was inspired by this sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

And I am playing with the Scrap Our Stash challenge #30 and used:
L - layers and label (on jar)
A - alphas
Y - yellow stars
E - enamel dots
R - red hearts
S - stitching or square (photos, frame)

Are you still scrapping summertime photos like I am?

Guest Designing for Pink Paislee (Part 2)

Happy Thursday friends! I am back to share my second project as Guest Designer for Pink Paislee this month. I got to play with the Memorandum collection.

For this second page, I was inspired by the softer side of the collection but also by some of my favorites, like the photo frames and the camera clip!

Nathalie_Memorandumhereandnowlayout

I started playing with a frame and a panoramic photo taken with my phone, layering them so the photo would slide under one side of the frame. I added a camera clip and several different pieces from the washi pack. I then spread my journaling over several tags and sewed them on the background. A banner cut out from the “Memo” paper and a few ink spots for contrast were added at the end.

Supplies: Pink Paislee Memorandum collection, flair by feedyourcraft.com, stamp by Scraptastic Club

If you look at the two completely different pages I made with this collection (see previous post for my first one), you realize how truly versatile it is!
