Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine Summer Issue Challenge

Let me start by saying that I am very excited to announce that the Summer issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today is now available and you can download it for free HERE! You will find two of my projects in this issue, one on page 38 and the other on page 47. In addition it is packed with tons of great inspiration for your Summer scrapping!

Secondly, I am hosting a card sketch challenge over on the SCT Magazine blog. You can participate until July 2nd and be entered to win the SCT June Sampler kit!
Below are the cards I created for the challenge:
Flipping through my Spring SCT Magazine I found two sketches that really inspired me to create cards with the gorgeous Pebbles, Inc. Hey Hello collection.
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill, Doodlebug Design; patterned paper, boxed cards, pre-made die-cuts, washi tape: Pebbles, Inc; mini jewel dots: Doodlebug Design; metal dies: Doodlebug Design; tools: Sizzix Big Shot, Liberty sewing machine; foam dots: Scrapbook Adhesives; adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives; ribbon: Michael's

The design of my first card is based this sketch from page 31:
What caught my eye was the center tag and the light circle for which I first thought of doing hand stitches but ended up using a die-cut. When working with a sketch, think of your different options to create a similar shape.

This second sketch is from page 32 of the Spring issue:
And here is my interpretation:
I absolutely love the florals and the bold colors in the Hey Hello collection, plus it has sheets full of tags and small cards with a variety of sentiments to cut apart which makes it perfect for card making.
I hope you feel inspired to use these sketches like I did and to participate in this challenge! Remember to submit your entries at: ideas@scrapbookandcards.com by July 2nd.
Happy crafting!

Traveler's Notebook sketch challenge: Collonges-La-Rouge

Following my participation last month, I was invited to guest design for Wei Wei's Love to Scrap on Traveler's Notebook challenge #7. As I mentioned before, I used to love playing with layout sketches and finding her TN sketches made me very happy.

Because I'm a fan of tags and extra-large photos, I loved this sketch at first sight and stayed very close to it.

All my supplies (except for the hole protectors) are from Elle's Studio and particularly the Family Fun collection. I have linked all the items below in case you are interested in looking them up.
Here are the challenge details: **Love to Scrap on Traveler's Notebook Challenge #7 starts Saturday 7/21 at 6am PST and closes on Saturday 8/11 at 6am. To be considered for the small prize, you need to share your project on Instagram using the hashtags #lovetoscrapontnchallenge and #lovetoscrapontn7

I hope you'll participate!

(this post contains a few affiliate links: you don't pay anything extra by using them, but I do get a small commission on the sale. Thank you!)

A Traveler's Notebook Sketch challenge!

I used to love sketch challenges when I was still making layouts so when I discovered Wei Wei's Traveler's Notebook sketch challenge on Instagram I immediately felt inspired to play along:
All supplies are from Elle's Studio Let's Go TN kit except for the enamel dots (Doodlebug Design) and the paper clip from my stash.
Here's a look at the sketch:
You can see that I included two horizontal photos on the left to mimic the vertical one and I also "switched" a skinny photo for the label on the right. That's what I love about sketches! They give you a good starting point but you can interpret them as you wish or need to according to your photos. I love the result! Thank you for the inspiration Wei Wei!
Free to play along if you feel inspired too! The deadline is June 9th.

Let's be adventurers (in my Traveler's Notebook)

Hello! I am back today with another Traveler's Notebook page. For this one, I got the inspiration from the current Stuck?! Sketches challenge. I used to play with sketches a lot when I was doing traditional layouts and when I saw this sketch, I decided to adapt it to a traveler's notebook format, which when open is basically a square.

Here's a look at the sketch...
...and at my TN spread:
The proportions are a bit different but I have kept all the design elements from the sketch. The supplies are from the July Gossamer Blue Scrapbook kit and TN kit except for the leaf stickers which are from the Oasis collection by Crate Paper.
This exercise got me very excited because it was scrapbooking like I used to but in a new format. It might be my new favorite thing!

I'd love to hear from you if you have done this too!

A bientôt!

Project Life 2017: Week 12 and 13 with a iNSD challenge!

Happy InterNational Scrapbooking Day! Today I am hosting a challenge on the Gossamer Blue Fans Facebook Group at 1pm (PST) and I hope to see some of you there! The following pocket page created with the May Life Pages kit (only) will be my example for the challenge:

This spread combines two weeks (one per page) as I have done in the past when I am short on photos. Except this time, I have too many photos from our Sunday in Anza-Borrego for the "Superbloom" so instead of trying to add them all here, I am going to create a separate project for them :)

Once again, I love the colors of this month's kit as well as the variety of elements such as the chipboard pieces, die-cuts and wood veneers.... ooooh, did you see those painted wood veneers? I love them!

I also had fun stamping directly on my photo (below) combining the perfect phrase stamp from the kit with an arrow stamp (add-on set):

Yes, that's my goofy kid! lol! We enjoyed some family time during those weeks as my oldest was home on Spring Break and I really like seeing a lot of faces on this spread :)
Enjoy your weekend and happy scrapping!

I'll always be here for you... (June Scraptastic Card kit)

I just created several cards this afternoon with the new June Card kit from Scraptastic Club. This one came together rather quickly with the help of a sketch and those great ice-cream diecuts:

All the patterned papers included in the kit are from the Elle's Studio Sunny Days collection (6x6 pad) and I love the colors. The sentiment sticker is actually from the May Card kit but you can use any sentiment and shape it like a banner.

As I mentioned earlier, the design is based on a sketch. It is from Sketch N Scrap, see below:

I will be sharing the rest of the cards soon on the Scraptastic Club blog but probably here as well ;)

A bientôt!

Hello friend

This last card created with the April card kit from Scraptastic Club (now sold out) has nothing to do with tea but will make a friend happy nonetheless 🙂

It was inspired by the current challenge at The Card Concept and features a clean, fresh and layered style:

Thank you for your visit! I really appreciate it!

Time for tea? (Scraptastic Club Card kit)

I recently shared these cards on the Scraptastic Club blog so I apologize if this is a repeat for you!
Happy weekend! I just received the April Card kit and felt totally inspired by two of my favorite things in the kit: the stamp set and the tea bag tags, both included in the kit but also available separately.
For the first card, I stamped the three tea cups on white card stock, hand cut them and stacked them. The sentiment, also from the stamp set, is super cute and stamped directly on the background. I then added three tea bag tags on strings taped on the inside of the card. It makes for a clean but fun card:
nathalie_youaretearrific_SCapril2016
I continued with the tea theme for my second card:
nathalie_missingyoualways_SCapril2016
I had the idea of creating a “faux” tea bag out of the glassine bag that holds the embellishments and inserted heart sequins (from my stash) before closing it shut. Paired with one of the tea bag tags and a sentiment sticker, it’s intended for Mother’s Day but it can be for other occasions as well.

The design of this last card is based on the current sketch challenge (#71) on the Sketch~ N~Scrap blog:
Now let's get the kettle on, shall we? ;)

Easter Morning

Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed your Easter Sunday if you celebrate it. Today I am sharing this page over on the Imaginisce blog but wanted to share it here with you too.

Even though the photos are not from this Sunday, I created this Easter themed layout with the brand new Sunny collection:

I really like the happy colors of this new collection and they work for many occasions, even though it is Summer themed.

One of my favorites are the dimensional Sticker Stackers. To make the “Just Happy” one above pop I layered it on top of a punched scalloped circle out of hot pink cardstock.

For my title, I sprayed fabric Thickers to match the yellow on the page and added a few alpha stickers to finish. The journaling was done on my computer using the Remington Noiseless font.

My design is based on this older sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap, I simply adapted it to 8.5x11:

I hope you feel inspired to play with it too, with or without Easter photos!

Supplies:
Imaginisce: patterned papers, sticker stackers (Sunny collection), American Crafts: Thickers, cardstock

Happy Birthday Elise!

Today I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to a special lady who is starting a new decade :) Elise (also known as @lilgik on social media) is the owner of Feed Your Craft and a talented and supportive friend. I made this card especially for the occasion:

The mini flair is from the Feed Your Craft shop, the gorgeous floral paper is from the September Skies collection by Pink Paislee. The bow was created with the 1-2-3 punch board by We R Memory Keepers.

Thank you for stopping by and now make sure to check out the Feed Your Craft store today where Elise is celebrating with some special deals for all to enjoy!

Just because...

Happy Friday scrappy friends! I have two more cards created with the February Scraptastic Card kit to share today. Just like I mentioned in my previous post, I love the papers included in this kit (Becky Higgins Everyday Collection designed by Liz Tamanaha)!

For this first one, I used a sentiment sticker and the flower stamp included in the kit. I am far from being a pro but I had fun getting my watercolor pencils out for once!

For my second card, I used one of the die-cut sentiment and also my brand new We R Memory Keepers 1-2-3 punch to create the bow:

For the design, I was inspired by the current sketch challenge over at Sketch-N-Scrap (card sketch #67):

Edited to add:
Sketch-N-Scrap
Thank you Sketch-N-Scrap for featuring my card!

I hope that you feel inspired to make a few cards yourself :) I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Supplies: Scraptastic Club February Card Kit, WRMK 1-2-3 punch board, ink and watercolor pencils.

No matter where we go...

How about a bit of romance on this Sunday morning? :)

Sweet Summer nights

I am not ready to give up on Summer yet... Plus, it felt right to scrap more Summer memories during the heat wave we just had!

nathalie_sweetsummernights_SCsep2015

This layout was created with the September "Skinny Love" main kit from Scraptastic Club and enamel dots from my stash. In my low-tech tradition, I drew and hand-cut the yellow stars out of card stock and part of my title out of patterned paper.
nathalie_sweetsummernightscloseup_SCsep2015

The page design was inspired by this sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

And I am playing with the Scrap Our Stash challenge #30 and used:
L - layers and label (on jar)
A - alphas
Y - yellow stars
E - enamel dots
R - red hearts
S - stitching or square (photos, frame)

Are you still scrapping summertime photos like I am?

It's official...

... I am now the shortest one in my family :) This layout, created with the Wednesday Night main kit from Scraptastic Club, shows how my youngest reached my height a few months ago:

nathalie_itsofficial_STCaug2015

Here are a few close ups:
nathalie_itsofficialcloseup2_STCaug2015
nathalie_itsofficialcloseup_STCaug2015 Everything but the ink and thread is from the main kit. I used multiple pieces of the So Fancy ephemera pack from Simple Stories as well as some exclusives (flair, acrylics). The wonderful background paper is from the Making Wave collection by Fancy Pants.

I found that the colors in this kit were perfect for the current challenge over on ChallengeYOUrself, so I based my design on the sketch offered:

I'm only 5 feet 2 inches... so i am very glad that my boy is now taller than me! But tell me, how do you measure up in your family? ;)

EDITED TO ADD: I made the Top 3 at Challenge YOUrself! :)
