Let's Go Nuts!

Another quick little card using Life's A Beach. I used some of the new SU! in-colours (Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry) for this 4.25" square card.

I coloured the drink image in using a blender pen and added Close to Cocoa for the coconut. The main image is adhered using dimensionals and finished off with a polka dot ribbon in Crushed Curry.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today! I always appreciate it :)

ShortCuts Friday

How much fun have I had using these ShortCuts? Today I have a card to show you using the clear card blanks. Again, thick and fingerprint free. Beautiful. Too bad my front door isn't made out of the same material so it would be fingerprint free....

I stamped the butterfly image from Butterfly Happiness using white Stazon randomly on the card base. The sentiment was stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Whisper White, punched along the edge to give interest and adhered to Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I layered some Prima flowers (I never use these for some reason! Perhaps now that I can find them in here I will do so more often...) added a pearl piece (Hero Arts maybe? Sorry, dunno for sure) and adhered the whole she-bang with glue dots. A piece of Crushed Curry is attached on the inside to again make a frame and provide a writing area for the sender. That's it!

Thanks again for stopping by this week to check out the stuff I've made using ShortCuts products and stamps from There She Goes. Check out "the blurb" on Monday's post for details about how to get yourself a discount :)
And, you have one more day to get in on the sale Jessica is having due to this month's releases being sold out, so check it out here.

ShortCuts Thursday

Another gift card for today!

This time I used a kraft coloured gift card blank from ShortCuts for a base. Inside there's a Tim Horton's gift card so it made sense to use the set Let's Get Together. I guess when I think coffee I think this colour scheme because it's a lot like another card I did using this set.

The cup is stamped and paper pieced using Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla then layered onto Riding Hood Red. The band for the cup was created by running a strip of kraft cardstock through the crimper. Sentiment and jumbo eyelet added, and ribbon tied to complete it. Adorable!

Here's a look at it from the inside.

ShortCuts Wednesday

I've got a card for you today using TSG's set Happy Day and frosted card blanks from ShortCuts. Holy super thick! These bad boys are sturdy.

I layered Pacific Point and Summer Sun card stock with Good Morning Sunshine DP from SU! onto the frosted card blank after it was folded up. The ribbon and sentiment stamped in black were added.

Inside, I attached a large piece of Summer Sun, big enough that it could be seen from the front and it also provides a spot to write in. A little bird is stamped tone on tone in the corner.

Thanks for stopping by today! If you are interested in any of these Short Cuts products, make sure to check out "the blurb" found in Monday's post.

Have a great day!

ShortCuts Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!

Today's ShortCuts project is a little treat holder made using the Sizzix pillow box die and a clear card blank. Great stuff this is as it folds up nicely and you can't see any fingerprints!

I stamped the box before I folded it up using a branch from Act of Kindness and black Stazon. I added in the dangling spider from Spooky Silhouettes (note that Spooky Silhouettes is not currently in the store but Jessica will be bringing it back this fall). Once it was filled with orange Reece's Pieces, a sheer black ribbon was tied. The sentiment "For you" is from the set Special Delivery and it's stamped in black over a Tangerine Tango pumpkin from the Spooky Silhouettes set. Once I punched it out with the curly label punch, I attached it using a small SU! library clip.

Here's a picture without the ribbon so you can see the detail on the box a little better.

Really fast to make up. I think the longest part was either waiting for the Stazon to dry or sorting the orange candies from the rest ;)

Thanks for stopping by today!

ShortCuts Monday

Happy Monday! I told you I would have some ShortCuts samples for you this week , and I do!

First, the blurb.

This week’s artist samples are sponsored by ShortCuts. Launched in June of 2008, the sister site to SheetLoad of Cards, is dedicated making your papercrafting quicker and easier. Everybody likes a short cut every now and then!

The first ShortCuts product, available for purchase since July 1, 2008, was Gift Card Holder Folders (GCHF).

The latest ShortCuts product, Clear & Frosted Card Blanks, will help you to make fabulous clear and frosted cards. Each of the stocks is made of a thick vinyl material. Think clear/frosted cardstock – none of that flimsy transparency material. Best of all the clear cards are fingerprint resistant. No more wearing white gloves while making your clear cards. You can also purchase the Clear & Frosted material in Full Sheets (8.5” x 11”).

Their ready-to-assemble-and-decorate products will help you create stunning creations in minutes. Make sure to drop by their blog for lots of inspiration from their wonderful design team.

Two (2) lucky winners this week will each receive a $10 ShortCuts Gift Certificate!!

Want to try ShortCuts for yourself, while saving money at the same time?!?! Just visit their Online Store and enter the discount code “TSG15” during checkout and receive 15% off your order!! *15% will be taken off package price(s) only, not S/H charges. Orders must contain at least $5.00 in product, and be placed before September 1, 2009.

Now, the card!

I decided to try out a gift card holder first. Nifty little things they are and they sure hold that gift card in tight! Using the set Tweeterpated, I created a holder suitable for a new baby's arrival. Colours are Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. The ribbon band slides off so the gift card can be seen. Easy peasy!

Come back tomorrow to see what else I've created using ShortCuts products.

Droppin' You a Line

Hi everyone!

I hope you are having weather as gorgeous as we are here :) It's so nice to get out in the sunshine. The boys have a baseball tournament this weekend so we're spending most of it outdoors.

I've got a card for you today using There She Goes' set Happy Day.

I noticed that I used blue and orange tones with this set as I did with the last card I made using this set. Mental note-try another combo next time :)

And did you notice? Yes, it's true. I watercoloured it. Me. Colouring. Actually, this image was quite pleasant to colour! I used an Aquapainter on watercolour paper. I honestly think that watercolour paper is the key for me. I always get better results when I attempt to colour. Not perfect mind you! But definitely better. I also used watercolour paper for the base of the card. I like the texture it has for a bit of interest.

The other paper is SU!'s Parisian Breeze Specialty paper. It's textured too, and oh so pretty! The image is stamped in brown Stazon and coloured using Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa and Pumpkin Pie ink picked up from the lid. The image is matted on Pumpkin Pie and then raised on dimensionals. A ribbon from Taylored Expressions finishes it off. This is my new favourite ribbon, for sure.

So, new releases are happening at There She Goes this weekend. Check out Jessica's blog here for all the details. I don't have any new stuff to show you today, but I hope to later in the week.

I hope you will be able to make it to the chat tonight! We're off to a BBQ this afternoon but I am planning to stop by the chat after that.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks again for stopping by :)

DDIC4

Computer virus. Bad. That's all I'm sayin'...

Now that I'm up and firing on all cylinders again I've got a card for the Inspiration Challenge hosted by Lori over at The Diva Stamper. Check it out as Lori is offering up blog candy for the participants. Details are on her blog :)

Our inspiration for this week came from this photo of cups and plates. Now, I've been having major mojo issues for a variety of reasons and decided I wasn't happy with the original card I had made up to be posted on Thursday (sorry to all of you who came by to see what I'd made, but as I said, computer viruses suck). So I decided to make a new one up after seeing the sketch posted by Natasha over at Clean and Simple stamping the other day.

I used PTI white cardstock for the base and added strips of Cool Carribean and Chocolate Chip. The birds from Nature of Friendship and sentiment from Cupcake Mix and Match (both from There She Goes) are stamped in Chocolate Chip. The scallop was punched with the purple Marvy punch. Pretty simple.

Check out what the other ladies have come up with!

Thanks for stopping by :) I'll be back in a bit with my final Clean and Simple Challenge DT card. Can't believe it's been 16 weeks!
