Hockey Skate Card

Hi friends (is anyone still out there?!) It's my first post of 2010. Sorry it took so long! But you know life can get in the way of stamping!

Here's a card I made for my son's teammate's 9th birthday. I used the Cricut Sports Mania cartridge. I cut a second white shadow layer, added a score line and attached it at the top of the back of the skate to turn it into a card. The shoelace idea was from someone over at the Cricut forum (Minnesota Wild) and I thought it was just the cutest touch! It looks like it took a lot longer than it actually did. The card measures about 5.5 inches square.

Hope you like it as much as I did! I had a hard time parting with this one... ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day and if your weather is like mine, enjoy the sunshine!

Happy Together (My Cricut and Me!)

Hi everyone!

We're just back from a very relaxing week of camping in Prince Edward County. Such fun! We rented a trailer near Sandbanks and hit the beaches. The kids had a blast and hubby and I got to take it easy for a week. No baseball practices, deadlines, phones, e-mails.... But, back to reality now :)

I've mentioned before how I am starting a new job in Sept? Well, the staff at my old school gave me a gift card for Michael's. I of course could have blown it bit by bit each time I visited, but decided to put it towards a Cricut instead. I wanted to have something to "show" for it, KWIM? Anyways, I bought myself a little Cricut original and also bought the Sure Cuts A Lot program (awesome!). I bought mine here but loads of places have it.

Using a file I found here, I was able to cut myself out these sweet little birds and a cage for them to go in. Loving this little machine!

Colours are Whisper White, Basic Black, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps and goes really well with the image, I think. Some Crushed Curry ribbon and little black gems from Kaiser Craft finish it off.

I'm working on the photography, sorry about the quality. Since I moved the craft/crap room around, my regular photo spot is no more and I'm still trying to figure out what to do about it....

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today! Hope the rest of your day is great :)
