If not, head on over to Shimelle and her sketch #23.

You’ll see how she did this sketch, and how my full layout looks like. Oh, and for the die-hard scrappers out there, why yes indeed, that’s Hambly Screenprints-rubons and KI memory epoxy sticker from the good ‘ole Love, Elsie-line ;D Haha :)

Teehee…
so…there’s a Lawn Fawn partnership going on over at Glue Arts, which brings us to todays tags – pieced together with 3ndypapir-papers…for a step-by-step thingie on the tags (and chances to win both stamp & adhesive-sets) – feel free to drop by here.
aniaLF3aniaLF4
Ignore the darker splotches….sort of regret them the moment I added them to the tag, then reeeally regret it when washing away the glimmermist off the embossed snowflakes as it made it smudgy…ahwell. What can I say..I am imperfect ;p
gifta
Another gift-project..put together with Prima-stuff..trying to use some of the older stuff while impatiently waiting for the new stuff…*grin* *wink*
giftb
I really like this colorcombo – copper, red, gold and uhm, bright turquoise (?).
ania_bap1
Speaking of Prima..reminds me..don’t forget the December BAP (or PPP)…here’s a layout based on the BAP…sort of liked it when I made it, but as an afterthought I think the banners should be either placed more together, or had more flags layered in between the existing ones… ahwell!
ania_bap2
I really like the way the pennants were decorated though, with chipboard & wooden snowflakes (which I purchased at PACS in France a year ago..and hadn’t used until now! They’re pretty similar to the wooden snowflakes that Maya Road has btw if you happen to wonder how to get these). They’re covered with distress crackle paint..love the frosty, crackle effect!

And finally..I’ve shared these cards here and there, both at ScrappeHuset (see this post – and do comment for a chance at the BIG X-mas giveaway plus plenty of inspiration) and at the Maya Road-blog…might as well post these here!

Using 3ndypapir-papers & Maya Road stuff…

Using Prima stuff..

Once again – 3ndypapir & Maya Road stuff :)

Right. I *think* we’re actually done with all this years presents…just 2 or 3 more minor things to fix, yay us!
IMG_3684
The little one’s been toiling away creating lots and lots of amazing, creative gifts ever since November…at first doing mostly drawings, paintings and glass jars (like here) – but lately making things as shown at Art Attack..it’s darn amusing to watch her..and her eagerness is pretty adorable – she’s doing it all pretty much on her own, thinking of everybody in our family…cute…
IMG_3694
We’ve also miraculously got a Christmas-tree like, 10 days earlier than usual. Got a message from a friend the other day saying she & her hubby was helping their son’s school band selling X-mas trees…so I was like, sure, why not..need a tree sooner or later, why not buy it off a friend :) Besides, this way I could be a real bully & totally picky making them really work for the money *wink wink*
Right. Got a few more Christmas-related projects (I discovered I need matchboxes…apparently I’ve misplaced the one I had and well, need matches for Christmas!) to work on in between working on CHA-W projects….(funfun!)

~~ Guestdesigning: That’s Just So Cute ~~

box

When I got a request from the Norwegian challengeblog That’s Just So Cute about guestdesigning and creating a miniclass for them, I couldn’t say no. I’m just as happy and honored every time somebody wants me to be their guest :) Here´s the post - check out what the ladies did with my challenge, and by all means, feel free to join! :)

box_cu

As it happened the request coincidenced with me having to create a goodbyecard for the kindergarten for the kids quitting this summer. So I figured I might just as well build upon a former tutorial w/the boxes and expand it to become a box w/lid. Pretty much all the materials here are from Crate Paper but the bauble (Prima) and letters (American Crafts).box_open

You can find my post w/the tutorial and the challenge at TJSC here. Feel free to join the challenge (which’s simply to create a project – layout, card, altered – anything – with at least three different materials. Paper doesn’t count).

Here’s what the winner of the challenge can expect, by the way.

Hope you’ll join :)

_DSC4100

So, Saturday came and went – we had a wonderful day - especially Amalie, who turned six… she already had gotten her present from us – a bicycle – so this morning she just got some smaller pressies from us and her brother (a locket necklace from this artist – her cousin got a similar one, only with a lighthaired girl :p, and a Hello,Kitty DS-game..while I love the locket and the artist (and more important, Amalie loves it too), it’s unfortunately not too sturdy so I probably need to get it refitted into a better necklace or fix the jump ring or something so the locket will stop falling from the necklace :/).

_DSC4116

We had Easter-dinner where we invited some family-members, and she got more pressies…here’s the book she got from my mother – she loves Oistein, a Norwegian artist/drawer who’s featured on the children’s television where he shows children easy steps to do fun drawings..(“he’s so, so, so good!” quote Amalie)

_DSC4129

In case you wondered how old she turned…

_DSC4148

Later that afternoon grandmother and her cousin arrived too, straight from the summerplace, and with even more gifts. A great day for her indeed.

jobb

A while ago I received an email from Sue Mylde, also known as Missusem, asking if I wanted to take part in a creative journey of hers: Words & Perspectives. Never one to say no to challenges, I accepted, and created this layout. You can find my blogpost here.

jobb_cu1

My chosen word was “jobb” – “work/job” – as this request came at a time when I had just gotten the job I now have (journalist at the local newspaper). It gave me a nice kick in the behind to document this part of my life – thank you so much for that, Sue! :)

jobb_cu2

I used mostly Pink Paislee’s Starlight-collection, along with a piece of Sassafras (the yellow polka-paper), Elle’s Studio tags and rubons from Hambly Screenprints (while I loved this colorscheme, I found it a bit too dark – so adding a white doily + white rubons helped lots imo).

Last day of the Easter-vacation…break..whatever it’s called in English..been a good one..warm..sunny…lovely..much needed….and oh, we finally finished Battlestar Galactica season4 (left it off long time ago in the beginning of season4) :p

Ps.

For Norwegians: Scrappehuset har et skikkelig flott fotokurs med Nabo’n som må leses for alle som er interessert i å vite mer om kameraets innstillinger – du finner den her.

~~ Guest-designer: Mission to Create ~~

Posted by Ania On Monday, April 18, 2011 4 lovely comments

soontime

When the ladies at the bi-weekly challenge-site Mission to Create asked me to participate in their challenges as a guest-designer, I gladly accepted. The concept is that each lady, including the guest-designer (aka me in this instance), picks one concept each, and together all (five) concepts yields one challenge. And to take part in the challenge you can chose whether to include at least three of the concepts, or all five – in your layout.

My concept was to get inspired by this image:

8234944_1xExA0eg_c

I found it on Etsy - it’s a print from this seller, who turned out to be a scrapbooker herself when I asked for permission to use her image as my inspiration-piece. Now that was amusing! Here’s her shop for those curious – she offers a wide range of prints w/quotes in many different colors and themes.

Anyways – this print was my concept to the ladies – to take the print and be inspired by the text, the colors, the letters or in whatever way the print inspires you.

The other concepts were:

D- make a list as part of your journaling
J- Primary colors
N- Use a journalling card
V- Use a mini calendar

Personally, although I could decide to only do three of the concepts, I’m not one to not really do a challenge sorta – so I had to do them all ;p

soontime_cu1

From the inspiration-image I chose to go for a title that was just as colorful+broken down word by word. The title’s placed on a mini-calendar from Crate Paper’s Portrait-collection – here: the 6x6” paper-pads. I also added a calendar-tag from Elle’s Studio, as well as several other tags from Elle’s.

soontime_cu2

I also pretty much stuck to using primary-colors on my layout..oh, and I just have to mention how much I love these mini-scalloped scissors! This one’s from Fiskars :)

soontime_cu3

And here’s me using list + journaling-card.

Materials used: Papers from both Pink Paislee (Old School – papers + stickers) + Crate Paper (Portrait+ School Spirit-chipboard), tags from Elle’s Studio and some of the letters are from American Craft. The layout is about my daughter on her pre-school-day.

Hop on over and join the challenge you too –it sure would be awesome if you did! Feel free to let me know if you did, too! :)

~~ Quick Recap ~~

Posted by Ania On Tuesday, February 01, 2011 6 lovely comments

ania223

Here’s my layout for Pencil-Lines sketch #223, which featured Aussie Natalie Elphinstone as both the sketchmaker and guestdesigner. I truly loved the sketch this time, and added my spin on it, gathering and shrinking the elements together in the middle to fit my pictures better. I used the January My Scrapbook Nook kit for this layout, and added chipboards and brad from my own Fancy Pants Designs-stash.

ania223_cu2

The layout is a quick recap of my trip to Papirfesten 2010, with journaling in bulletpoints.

ania223_cu1

So, CHA-W is over, and tbh, I’m left with not as many impressions from the new stuff at CHA as usual. It feels easier (and thus cheaper!) to navigate what I’d love to get my hands on this time around, I think (Let’s see, pretty much everything from Pink Paislee, most of the Hambly Screenprints-stuff and the flowers from Prima and Websters, some of the OA and Sassafras..Maya Road had a ton of great stuff this time…the usual suspects for me I think)? Or maybe I haven’t paid that much attention to what’s new out there? What do you think?

One thing is sure – I did not think that the Toy Box-line from Crate Paper would be that a big hit for me personally, but boy were I wrong! Sometimes you really just have to have the stuff IRL to be able to really judge it, and I absolutely adore the retroness of this collection – it’s so much more versatile than what the name/theme would suggest. And it sure something for itself in a market where most things are cutesy  in a girlie/romantic way. Just sayin’ :) I think – just think – it might rival the absolutely stunning Portrait-collection when it comes to how much I’ll use these papers…we’ll see!

~~ See why I love Hot Chocolate? ~~

Posted by Ania On Friday, January 21, 2011 7 lovely comments

utpatur

More creations for my guestDT-gig for My Scrapbook Nook: this is a layout created with their January-kit, which heavily featured Fancy Pants Designs’ winter-y collection “Hot Chocolate”. All the papers and stickers here are from that collection, while the buttons were added from an older FP collection.

utpatur_cu1

I love using thicker thread on my sewing machine! Why didn’t I do this earlier!?!?

utpatur_cu2

The letters are from American Craft – originally they were white, but I colored them with a red, permanent marker to fit my layout better.utpatur_cu3

I love scalloped circlepapers, but too often they have me stumped as to what to do with them (I know – create circle-layouts….still…doesn’t always feel right to me). So I’m pretty satisfied that I managed to incorporate this paper on this layout.

winter

And this is a quick card created from scraps from the layout above, a sticker and 3d foam. Quick, elegant and easy. And more important – no scraps to hoard around forever!

Right!

Today’s my day off, and a friend insists on teaching me how to crochet (she so has no idea what she’s in for). I’m ambivalent and dubious and highly sceptical, but have caved in to give it an attempt. Besides. I’m just gonna do the basic squaretightcrochetingthing. Nothing fancy. I’ll be fine….I think…

~~ Playing with My Scrapbook Nook ~~

Posted by Ania On Monday, January 17, 2011 3 lovely comments

JanKit11A.jpg

Yay!

I’m finally able to share that I’m the January guestdesigner over at the My Scrapbook Nook-kitclub!

It’s especially fun, as the Januarykit was chock-full of “Hot Chocolate” from Fancy Pants Designs, the collection that debuted after my term with them were over. So it meant I got to play with that collection after all, yey! :)

I quickly created two layouts and a card with it, and I have plenty of stuff left (and ideas for more) so there’ll be more stuff created with this kit incoming in not too long :) So – embrace yourself, here’s my Nook-stuff so far:

heipappa

A layout documenting a trip to Oslo last year, with just me and Amalie – which meant frequent phonecalls home to update them on the events of the stay.

heipappa_cu1

Here I worked a lot with the Helmar Scrap Dots glue – I love that glue because it allows me to decide the dimension of my embellishments myself (it’s a “liquidish” 3d glue dot in a tube). And it’s perfect for me because I often leave my projects overnight, so it’s one of the last things I do before leaving for bed and the next day the glue is dry and good to go :) The glittery red brads are from Queen & Co, also in the kit.

heipappa_cu2

We got two kind of letters in the kit – white AC chipboard ones, and dark brown FP stickers. Yay!

Everything on the layout is from the kit by the way…hm..apart from the banner and the text-strips, which were just created by scraps I had on my table :p

kaffelade

Kaffelade! A small, cozy café downtown.

The white cardstock is from my own stash – in fact – I had it premade (adding splatters of glimmermist onto it), thinking I’d use it for another project a while ago, but decided against it and saved the cardstock for future use – aka this project :)

kaffelade_cu1

Love this butterfly-punch from Martha Stewart – so elegant :) And the borderpunches :)
I actually created the borders for the first layout-project above (“Hei, pappa”), decided not to use it and then just adding it here where it fit better.

kaffelade_cu2

Use that negative space! :) The bling seen here are from the kit – we got a red piece of swirl from Queen & Co in the kit – and I have to admit I find such swirls a bit hard to use – so I just cut out individual gems from it for my layout.

kaffelade_cu3

Love this kind of splatter – huge, with random edges :)

minicard_back

You know these 12x12 sheets with smaller cards/tags on them? Look for two fitting cards next to each others, which can be cut out together and used to create such quick minicards.

minicard_front

Here I just added bling and letters to the cover of the card..

minicard_inside

And decorated to reinforce the insides of the card with more pieces from the same 12x12 card-paper.

minicard_cu

And added this cute little sticker-stamp, adhering it with the liquid scrap dots glue.

ania221

Now, I have to admit – while creating this layout I loved it, but now I positively dislike it. Hrm. Still have to share it though, as it’s for the Pencil-Lines sketch #221. White cardstock, transparent glittercut and felt from Fancy Pants, houndstooth-tape from Pink Paislee, paperscraps from Bam Pop, lots of rubons from Hambly Screenprints (the rub-ons I own are so random, while some are drying out, others are still going strong even though they’re among the oldest ones.

I’ve decided I’ll be better to use the rub-ons I own because quite frankly, it SUCKS to have to throw away whole sheets you just wanted to hoard because you loved them too much to use them…..:(

Nevertheless. Do check out Cheryl Ashcrafts sketch, it’s pretty lovely!

~Sasha Farina~ Said,

1:20 PM

paperdolls? what are you? 8? LOL.. *i'm just jealous by the way.. :P*

But ofcourse! *huge grin*  Love you still! Open-mouthed smile

Have a lovely week! :)
