Wrapping more stuff, using the perfect stamps from Craft Origine :)

ania_aug

Even getting to use good ol’ Scenic Route papers :)

ania_aug2

Life’s sort of slow and fast at the same time. Lots of time spent on work and other work-related stuff, like studying for an upcoming exam and doing exciting and inspiring projects.

So I’ve decided to start a little bit earlier on gifts and stuff. I think. I hope.

In other news, Maya Road is announcing a new card kit type thing. Go check it out :)

Also – check out this song – yeah - I’m late to the party, but I love it now, that’s what count, eh? :)

Don’t you love the nod to Wicked’s Popular? :)

Sort of feeling like that.

Today I figured I’d share a box, a card, and a layout with ya…

Let’s do the layout first, shall we…

ania_layout1

This one’s for Maya Road, as you might have guessed from all the Maya Road-ish embellishments used here…. the backgroundpaper’s from ColorConspiracy….they have so many patterns that’s perfect as backgroundpaper – one-ish color yet interesting..sort of…:)

ania_layout2

One – love the doily clear stamps – yields such gorg, crisp (im?)prints every single time. Two – kraft butterfly? Yesthankyouplease. Three – see the “bed” of ribbon/fabric that the cluster is attached to? That’s the organza tea garden trim which’s discontinued methinks, so if you see it – grab it.

ania_layout3

Added a lil paperribbonthingie from American Crafts (Dear Lizzie).

ania_layout4

I’m not one for huge flowers, but that yellow flower (Satin Scallop Edge)? Lovesit.

Right. Over to the card..

ania_card1

Love the elegance transparencies automatically gives (borrows?) to cards when used like this, as an extra folder…The transparency & paper here’s from ColorConspiracy-

ania_card2

Twine and dangling embellishments from Maya Road..

ania_card3

Cluster put together from random bits & pieces from Pink Paislee, Hambly, Maya Road, Heidi Swapp (red chipboard heart!! loved those!) and Prima.

ania_card4

Yeap. Really like the feel the transparency lends to the card. I tried to dot the piece of tulle by the way, didn’t turn entirely the way I wanted, but ahwell…

ania_card5

Gold glitter ftw!

ania_box

And finally….a chocolate box. Papers and die cuts from ColorConspiracy, kraft butterfly from Maya Road.

ania_box2

It’s a simple box. Just a thinking-of-you-get-well-chocolate-box for a coworker of mine.

ania_box3

It was quickly put together, and well appreciated.

Right.

Almost caught up.

Work’s been keeping me busy as usual, and right now I’m engaged in a project building up & readying the paper I work for, for a new system coming this Fall. Then I’m off to another weeklong course - my 2nd of this years four courses. Then, when I’m back, I should be back to my regular, writing work-self (been away from my regular work for half a week now and it’s I’m so, so itching to do some real writing…eeks….). Not that anybody cares, but ah well… :)

So.

Hi. I’ve been scrapping. In between.

Here’s a layout for ColorCOnspiracy.. w/photos of my sister and nephew…

ania_dreams

I like the new papers from ColorConspiracy…they come w/patterns on the bottom tag or whatever it’s called. Yields more possibilities for the papers methinks :)

ania_dreams2

ColorConspiracy has cute die cuts as well, as seen above and below..

ania_dreams3

And the clouds were made by using the star punch (Martha Stewart everywhere on the page one) first then cutting out the cloud (w/the Fiskars cloud punch).

Well. I thought that looked somewhat nifty..

Right.
TGIF.

Have schoolstuff and scrapbookingstuff to catch up w!

~~ I {heart} boxes ~~

Posted by Ania On Tuesday, April 16, 2013 1 lovely comments

Mkay. I love boxes. Plain & simple.

ania_box1

I'm not sure what it is, but when I get my hands on a sturdy, nicely sized cardboard box, like a perfume-box, it just feels wrong to throw it away (even though it'd go to the recycle/paper bin).

before

Take this box, previously holding  3.4 oz of lovely Eau De Parfum (She Wood..one of my faves along with Flowerbomb...but I digress).... I figured I'd put this box to good 2nd use, finding some matching patterned paper for the solid pink-peachy color of the cardboard, and a few Maya Road-embellishments to go...

ania_box2

Like creating a small but effective cluster next to a big heart covering almost the whole box. And oh, you can never go wrong with heart shaped linen! In this case a little bit of color was added by spraying some Maya Mist (dragonfruit pink & sunflower yellow washed out w/buttermilk cream).

ania_box4

The cluster started with a tucked in kraft snowflake behind the new Afternoon Tea blossoms in carnation... which in turn was embellished with a scrap of Scallop Chiffon & Tulle Trim and Antique Jeweled Pearl Pendant and a piece of celery green Twine Cording.

ania_box3

On the other side: The lucky number seven (which's this years big birthday number) labeled with the help of some trim adorning a bottle cap and a starburst of different slices of patterned papers...

I made this box for the Maya Road blog, which you can see here.

Right.

Not sure where to start. Had an amazing but really intensive educational week in Fredrikstad last week. Came straight back to work this past weekend, and I feel like I haven’t been able to catch my breath yet (how long since I actually did that?). So many things I need to check off – both workwise, freelancewise and personal. My main problem? I work too slow, too meticulous, too hung up in stupid unimportant details when I should be looking at the big picture, am too scatterbrained and take too many unnecessarily breaks in between, like now, writing this blogpost. Sigh.

Here’s to an extended upcoming weekend where I’ll do NOTHING (yeah right..how to make the brain stop turning the wheels when you’re supposed to just relax?)– as long as I survive this week…:)

~~ March Sketch ~~

ania_march_sketch1_web

Easter’s here…and tbh, to me that means precious days off!

Just wanted to share a little bit inspo for the Easter..like this chocolate box…

it’s based upon this monthly sketch from ColorConspiracy…:

I just flipped it upside down…

ania_march_sketch2_web

Pulled random bits and pieces from my desk…

ania_march_sketch3_web

And used papers from ColorConspiracy, ofcourse…partly from the older collections, and some from the newer ones, like the background paper used on the cover :)

Nothing’s like a decorated chocolate box to brighten up a friends day…

ania_march_sketch4_web

Even got to use the lovely star punch from Martha Stewart! Yay!

The cover + inside paper are from this collection btw:

Right.

Did you see that Maya Road are looking for guest designers by the way?

Do give it a shot. They’re generous with their product packs, and who in their right mind would want to say no to a such a variety of versatile embellishments to play with!?

Also – right now there’s a lot of wreath fun on the MR blog!

(yeah..I chickened outta this one..me & wreaths? Nuh-huh!)

~~ Sweet love ~~

This months inspiration on ColorConspiracy is typography. I just did a simple take on that inspiration theme, I just mixed various sized letters in the title…but I know – it’s possible to do a much more clever play on typography, like the way Madga did in the CC inspiration post here.

ania_inspired2

Simple or not – I still like to add longer titles by using these small letters from Adornit (I have like, 8-10 more sheets of these, they were so cheap and so versatile…I dread the day I’m outta these letters)…plus normally I prefer letters the size of the purple thickers here…I like putting together long-ish titles and stuff…

Right. Sunday. Workday. Catchupday.newbaby

I got a new baby and am only 1/3rd into the manual (yes..I’m one of these suckers who actually read the manuals..at least when it comes to this) but I need to wrap up a few chores first.

ania_inspired3

Let’s go.

~~ Visiting Octavia ~~

Posted by Ania On Monday, February 04, 2013 5 lovely comments

octavia1-(2)

So. Here’s another minialbum created for the Maya Road CHA-W booth…love the mix of different fabrics here – canvas, burlap and tulle! And ofc…lots and lots of trinket pins! :) Stamping on the fabric was hm, interesting…I still have to perfect that technique! Or maybe it’s just luck…?? Nevertheless…seems like the archival stamp pads are the best for such purposes (out of the ink pads I own)…anyone out there w/better ink pad suggestions or tip on stamping on fabric?

octavia1-(5)

The fun part about making minibooks are that they usually turn out like this….even though I try to minimize the layers….can’t help it – it’s so fun adding bits and pieces and tbh, stuffed minibooks are sort of fun just for the heck of it…looks so…fun! (Now, count the times I’ve used the word “fun” in this sentence :p I’m oh, so eloquent, I know!)

octavia1-(8)

I used papers from SODAlicious for my chipboard pages…oh, and see that white doily behind the crackled bird/dove? It’s the new doily stamp set from Maya Road. Loves!

octavia1-(10)

The mini’s about mine and Amalies trip to DNS (the Norwegian theatre)…it’s one of our dearest traditions…to attend plays together once or twice a year. I usually ask my oldest son to come along as well, but he keeps saying naah, not interesting enough, and I don’t want to force him..it has to be something he actually feel like doing (and let’s face it…it’s darn expensive going to the theatre, so better not waste it on someone who doesn’t really want to…but once I find a play I think he’ll like…he’s so coming with! Although..to be fair… he’s been to Annie with us not so long ago.. :p)

octavia1-(14)

Nevertheless…this time we went to see Octavia, the resident ghost of the theatre. She was an actress back when the theatre was new, and still roams the theatre… It was an interactive play where she showed the kids around the theatre, told about the different plays and characters she played when she was alive and showed the kids backstage and stuff…fun fun. Here we found a shoe in the stairs, and Amalie got to try it out..with help from Octavia..

octavia1-(18)

Amalie thought it was hilarious when Octavia told them that the most boring character she ever played was Princess Vilikke (roughly translated to Dontwantto). She didn’t wanna do anything!

Notice the kraft butterfly? I stamped it with the peacock clear stamps in deep rose pigment ink (Maya Road).

octavia1-(19)

Oy. Playing with homemade ombre & measurement ribbon!

I figured I’d add photos and kraft stuff to the chipboard-pages, and do a little more artsy stuff to the burlap-pages, btw.

octavia1-(20)

More ombre…& popsicle blue maya mist…pwetty!

octavia1

Fun coincidence: The play that was rehearsed on the stage while we wandered around was “Snow Queen” (Snødronningen, by H.C. Andersen)….which was the next play me and Amalie went to a few months later :)

octavia1-(7)

Bye!
