So, Saturday came and went – we had a wonderful day - especially Amalie, who turned six… she already had gotten her present from us – a bicycle – so this morning she just got some smaller pressies from us and her brother (a locket necklace from this artist – her cousin got a similar one, only with a lighthaired girl :p, and a Hello,Kitty DS-game..while I love the locket and the artist (and more important, Amalie loves it too), it’s unfortunately not too sturdy so I probably need to get it refitted into a better necklace or fix the jump ring or something so the locket will stop falling from the necklace :/).

_DSC4116

We had Easter-dinner where we invited some family-members, and she got more pressies…here’s the book she got from my mother – she loves Oistein, a Norwegian artist/drawer who’s featured on the children’s television where he shows children easy steps to do fun drawings..(“he’s so, so, so good!” quote Amalie)

_DSC4129

In case you wondered how old she turned…

_DSC4148

Later that afternoon grandmother and her cousin arrived too, straight from the summerplace, and with even more gifts. A great day for her indeed.

jobb

A while ago I received an email from Sue Mylde, also known as Missusem, asking if I wanted to take part in a creative journey of hers: Words & Perspectives. Never one to say no to challenges, I accepted, and created this layout. You can find my blogpost here.

jobb_cu1

My chosen word was “jobb” – “work/job” – as this request came at a time when I had just gotten the job I now have (journalist at the local newspaper). It gave me a nice kick in the behind to document this part of my life – thank you so much for that, Sue! :)

jobb_cu2

I used mostly Pink Paislee’s Starlight-collection, along with a piece of Sassafras (the yellow polka-paper), Elle’s Studio tags and rubons from Hambly Screenprints (while I loved this colorscheme, I found it a bit too dark – so adding a white doily + white rubons helped lots imo).

Last day of the Easter-vacation…break..whatever it’s called in English..been a good one..warm..sunny…lovely..much needed….and oh, we finally finished Battlestar Galactica season4 (left it off long time ago in the beginning of season4) :p

Ps.

For Norwegians: Scrappehuset har et skikkelig flott fotokurs med Nabo’n som må leses for alle som er interessert i å vite mer om kameraets innstillinger – du finner den her.

~~ ..and a card for Skissedilla #100 ~~

ania83

I fell in love with this sketch (whose (which?) filename is named 83, which might indicate it’s sketch #83 :p), thinking it’d be perfect as a carddesign. Now, the original idea I had for a card based on this one fell through (stupid sucky card :p), but I refused to give up, so…hm…not sure what I actually think of this card, as I started adding buttons and brads stuff just kept piling up and I’m thinking it’s a bit too much/over the top, but whatev, I’m tired of projects that doesn’t turn out the way I want, and I was pretty determined to add a card to this #100 celebration of Skissedilla, so here ya go… :p

And yes, this is yet another result of this personal vendetta against hoarding – this time I figured I’d use a few of the buttons and brads just piling up (check out this awesome home decor by Jen Jockisch for inspo for the mix of brads&buttons, only, hers is 1000x better ofc), scraps lying on my desk (the Hambly Screenprints-transparency+the white cardboard…that’s the advantage of having a messy desk..you’ll always find scraps for projects), tag from Elle’s Studio (love this one, I want more of these!) plus this rouge de garance (what happened to that brand, anyone knows?) paper which was stashed w/my Sassafras-papers and left behind when I cleaned up the Sassafras-papers (from last project, see below)…which made me remember having lots of rdg-diecuts in a box, resulting in the paper-flower+butterflies.. (um right…all of this info is oh, so interesting…cough..I’ll stop now)

#83

listening: To my husband’s cousins band, For Emma on MySpace (They’re based in Montpellier, France, so if you’re from around there & have the chance – go book/hear them :) They’ll play in Elverum & Oslo sometimes this summer too, for those of you who’ll be around there ;p)
eating: oreo-muffins :) …while the chicken is getting yummified in the oven..
drinking: warm tea w/honey
wearing: purple today :p
feeling: tired..just wanna go curl up in my bed atm..
weather: grey..no rain today it seems, though..
wanting: to get better at preparing things..
needing: to shop for Monday..
thinking: how weird it is that we became parents ten years ago (soon)..
enjoying: the fact that it’s weekend and I don’t really have to do much
wondering: when this ski world championship will be over (please let it be soon) and how much an impact does this championship actually have across the globe..? Ski isn’t that huge, is it..? Anyone?

dramaqueen reporting for duty.. ! haaahaa!! i love that layout, not sure what but i feel it's special!
give us your real hair color - with real camera.. not iphone. or use photobooth? I wanna see!!

Oh, for gods sake, shaddap woman! ;p
(I actually think I’m brave enough showing three photos of myself in one post ‘cause…I don’t like photos of myself in general…so I consider this years quota for me-photos on the blog filled! ;p)

~~Hurra for Skissedilla #100 ~~

skissedilla

Hooray for the Norwegian sketch-site Skissedilla, which recently celebrated 100 weeks (&sketches). Well, not really 100 sketches, but rather 99, as they decided to scrap older sketches for their 100th week :p

Congratulations, Skissedilla! I figured I had to join this one, and found this wonderful sketch by Carrin:

12

I’m not quite sure which number it is, but the filename says 12.. :p

skissedilla_cu1

Once again I grabbed old stuff I had lying (hoarding is bad, folks! ;p) around – mostly Sassafras (the patterned papers – plus one strip of Pink Paislee that was lying on the table), Love, Elsie (look! the epoxy-sticker! love these, having a hard time actually using them though – need to get better at this!) and rub-ons from Hambly Screenprints.

skissedilla_cu2

Plus – this calendar-tag from Elle’s Studio – I’ve not used it because in my mind I thought it said 2011 on it, and I was like, gotta save it then! But for this project I thought – oh heck – let’s use it and just cover up the 11 part of 2011 w/the photo – when I noticed it did say 2010 after all. Cough. Plus! See the starburst-punch? Lovesit. It punches through cardboard and – wait for it – transparencies as well! Like cutting through butter – gotta love it :) I think I have an idea what to do w/the punch next :) Just need some time to scrap – it’s been sacred lately w/so much going on around here :(

I also found another sketch I think will be perfect for a card, I’ll see if I can find some time to scrap tomorrow…

25.02.11:

listening: Nightwish (LOVE “Bye Bye Beautiful”)
eating: nothing yet…have chocolate-rolls & Oreo-muffins on the way, though!
drinking: 3 cups of coffee so far….
wearing: same as yesterday, will change for tonight though
feeling: antsy..
weather: Grey, rainy & somewhat windy..
wanting: to scrap…but….work calls..this time, on my thesis :p
needing: hairproducts for straight, no-frizzy hair
thinking: that I’ll pay the local hairdressers a visit hunting for hairproducts soon..support your local businesses & all :p
enjoying: the music
wondering: how tonight will be – taking approx 8 boys (and a little girl) to go bowling..

~~Three different CD cards/envelopes ~~

Posted by Ania On Tuesday, February 15, 2011 6 lovely comments

cdcard

I needed to make three CD-cards, and I know – I’d make things so much easier on myself if I allowed myself to just mass-produce stuff and lift myself sorta, but I dunno…I can’t stand the thought of it and yeah sure, some things might end up looking similar, but it’s never intentional, as I start out by just intending to create different things. Nevetheless, here’s CD-card one, made with papers and chipboard/sticker the lovely Portrait-collection from Crate Paper, brad from hm, the Restoration-collection I think, flowers from Prima, bling from Kaisercraft and letters from Adornit/American Crafts.

cdcard_cu1

I really like how the flowers turned out :) I wrapped the stems of the smaller flowers around the chipboard-frame. And I try to use the “flat” kind of flowers I have from Prima – sigh..I have so many of these, yet I rarely manage to use them..hrmf!

cdcard_cu2

The insides were decorated as well – more papers from Portrait..

cdcard_cu3

And I decided to sew a CD-pocket out of vellum (I get so inspired by people like Danielle and Tara being pretty good at using vellum in their work)

cdcard

The next CD-card was created with 3ndypapir-papers – mostly from the older “Secret Garden” collection, along with a few buttons (yeah, the same thing here – have too many buttons, use them too seldom! plus, I don’t have the kind of buttons I really need sorta..but it’d be too silly buying even more buttons, when I don’t really use them that much..? Eh..or something like that :p) and white corrugated cardboard (need more of these, that stash is low now and I do use them every now and then).

cdcard_cu1

The round tags are from Elle’s Studio (my fave tags :)), and I decided to use this chipboard-bird (actually, I like using chipboard, it just feels like I don’t have that many of the “right” type though) from Maya Road w/crackle paint and crackle accent.

cdcard_cu2

This flower is from Petaloo..

cdcard_cu3

And this neat trick was found at Danielle’s blog, I hadn’t seen this before and I thought wow, that’s pretty genious – she used a circle-punch to punch out the corners like this. Um, why didn’t I think of that before? I thought it was a great idea to make something look pretty insta-elegant.

cdcard_cu4

Here’s the CD-card opened..and some pieces of the new 3ndypapir-collection managed to find its way here :)

fancy_cdenvelop

As for the third and last card, I decided to make it an envelope using Fancy Pants Designs’ Valentine-kraftpaper as the envelope. You can see the tutorial I made on this here – it’s very easy (as long as you put the ruler away .p).

fancy_cdenvelope_cu1

I love the around-the-page-punchers I have – I guess I should get some more of these, but ugh, they do cost a fair bit methinks..the flower is from an old box of Prima-flowers..I like them, but they’re a bit bulky so I don’t use them too often (plus, that stash is dwindling aswell. Dwindling stash = hoarding :p). Oh, and I love the trend on banners like this (it’s called banner too, isn’t?) – it seems like especially the Polish/Russian scrappers loves to use this, and well, it is cute :)

fancy_cdenvelope_cu2

Here’s the back of the envelope – w/a brad-closure.

The view this morning..

15.02.11

listening: to Ella Fitzgerald…no..Gatas Parlament atm..<3
eating: my homemade bread, still fresh this morning..mm..
drinking: warm tea
wearing: a knit, warm sweater
feeling: ok..bit stressed though, cause I really need to finish this article asap so I can move on :p
weather: ummyeah, the snow’s still there…
wanting: the same thing as yesterday :p
needing: more time..
thinking: about the article I am writing on atm..and about the upcoming test-interviews I’m about to conduct…and about the feedback I am waiting for atm....and what I just read from this link sent to me from my sister (in Norwegian, where deaf and hard of hearing people have written about their experiences w/school)
enjoying: being forced to stay at home this week..but..hm…need to drop by the univ soon to pickup some equipment before the test-interviews..hm…gah..need to find my missing bus-card!! :/
wondering: where my stuff are at, hmm..and why Words always claim it doesn’t find the file the first time, but works fine the second time I try to open documents..that can’t be good..?? :/ (started two days ago or so..)

IMG_1237

This was taken yesterday, before it started to snow again…

14.02.11

listening: I hope he bought you roses – Kine’s awesome Valentine (*cough*) playlist on Spotify :)
eating: fresh, homemade bread…mm..
drinking: red wine…shh..
wearing: eh..lizardgreen hoodie…(uh, I like this one!)
feeling: not so bad :)
weather: Actually, it’s snowing again now ><
wanting: sun..warmth…spring!
needing: to buy soil so I can start planting my herbs (no, nothing illegal, duh)..I miss fresh herbs for cooking!
thinking: that there’s such a great array of amazing movies out atm – the last one we saw was “The King’s Speech” – wonderful movie…”127 hours” was great, I didn’t think I’d like it in advance but I did..”Black Swan” – Nathalie Portman has always been amazing, always loved her since “Leon” ..her scene in the toilet when she calls her mom after having gotten the coveted role – amazing! And the French/South-Korean “A brand new life” – a beautiful, beautiful movie, quiet and sweet, it feels authentic and honest, never once falling for the temptation to turn it into like, drama & pathos as one might suspect w/such a theme..(and the actress playing Jinhee…so cute!)
enjoying: the happiness of my daughter when I made her a book :)
wondering: why Helena Bonham Carter always star in period-dramas these days? (either that, or her husbands movies…sure, sure, Harry Potter might not really be a period-drama, but it’s kinda similar isn’t? These kind of movies…)..just wondering..she’s amazing :)

~~Oh, deer ~~

Posted by Ania On Tuesday, January 25, 2011 7 lovely comments

I’m without my babies for a few days. They needed their yearly check&clean, and I won’t get them back until maybe tomorrow the soonest (yes, I am talking about my cameras :p). The two first images below are therefore taken with my iPhone (the last card was created a few days ago, haven’t gotten around to share it until now).

deer

My mother-in-law asked me to create a birthdaycard for a friend whom she was going to give some hike-stuff for gifts. Looking through my stuff for something hikey-ish I found these Sassafras-papers and decided to use it. It’s created from one sheet of paper, from which I cut out the yellow “sky” and the deer from the scraps and attached them to the front with 3d-foam. A bit busy cover, but I think it works. I’ve also rediscovered liquid pearls. I only have the grey one, and I think I need more!

jewel

ColorComboJT14

And here’s my two last contributions to the Moxie Fab Color Challenges, the above is for the Jewelcolor-challenge. I like this colorcombo :) The ledgerpapers looks pretty reddish here, they’re more sand in reality. And the felt flower on the top looks blackish, it’s actually the same color as the purple flower. Ahwell. It’s a good image still considering it’s taken with the iPhone, no? Looking for the right colors in my stash made me mix manufacturers here, something I don’t get to do too often *smile*. The papers here are from Sassafras, American Craft and Making Memories, the felt-flowerfrom American Craft , the button from Fancy Pants Designs and the tag is from Elle’s Studio.

metallics

ColorComboMT4

This one was a bit tougher, as it was supposed to be a “metallics” challenge.

I decided that “metallics” could also include glitter :p Hence: Pink glittercardstock from Doodlebug, champagnesandish metallic shimmercardstock from Bazzill and a Scenic Route chipboardheart dressed up in silverwhite sugarglitter from Doodlebug. I even found an epoxysticker from Love, Elsie to place on the card :)

Now excuse me, I have an article to finish, a questionaire to create and last, but not least: My box with the CHA-goodies from Crate Paper has arrived!! Am so gonna dive into some happy scrappy time tonight! :)

Posted by Ania On Thursday, December 23, 2010 3 lovely comments

Leaving you with a quick gift-inspiration today; If you’re stumped as to what to give people - why not create your own gift-card? Ours is a gift for the theatre – leaving the recipients with the option to chose their own date(s) before we’ll fix the tickets for them.

desember-23,-2010-3

Created with mostly Mistletoe & Co from Pink Paislee and some of the die cuts from Father Christmas.

Take care…!

Oh psst, Anam is giving away codes for her Sketches2Scrapbook-app for iPhone/iTouch/iPad, check out this post Smile

Oh and by the way, I’ve shared some photography-tips over here (in Norwegian).

Har delt noen fotograferingstips her hos ScrappeHuset (tusen takk for at dere spurte! ~~ DecDaily 6-11 ~~

Posted by Ania On Monday, December 20, 2010 6 lovely comments

Well, I’m almost halfway there with this mini – so it does look a lot better when it comes to my chances to actually finish this one, no..? I hope so..
(page 1-5 can be found here)

decdaily6a

Kraft cardstock & 3ndypapir – paper. And actual, sewn buttons! As usual, the numbered tags (and most other tags) are from Elle’s Studio. Opened, the pages measure 6x9”.

decdaily6b

For this one I decided to do my journaling on vellum and sew it onto the patterned paper.
I also have to admit – if you ask me to tell you off the bat what happened on the 6th, I cannot for the life of me remember anything. Or any other days/dates. Glancing at the pictures from that day however, helps to spark my memory. Like when I almost forgot to, uh, “help” the tooth fairy and got up at like 2.30am suddenly remembering this – scrounging in the dark for coins. *cough* (I didn’t write that in the page…I’ll let the kids believe in the tooth fairy for a few more years first Smile with tongue out). And the kids got new cookie cutter-shapes in their calendars today, so we had to test them out by baking “Kakemenn” Smile

decdaily7a

Day 7 – created with Fancy Pants Designs.

Even got to use their cool Christmas-brad here! SmileI have no idea how long it’s been stashed for, but it’s been a good while! Look at the cute little whimsical tree!

decdaily7b

Also used the lovely around the edge Martha Stewart-punch Smile
Oh, also – I adore the FP rub-ons – despite how old it gets, it doesn’t seem to go bad. Some might go slightly dry, but still transfer wonderfully. At least that’s my experience – until now. Maybe I’m jinxing myself by declaring this now, though Smile with tongue out

decdaily7c

Also, had two images I wanted to use for this day, but the design didn’t allow for both to be displayed nicely, so I made a quick flap for the extra photo.

decdaily8a

Day Eight – using Pink Paislee’s Mistletoe & Co Smile

decdaily8b

This page is about me handing in my last exam, and dropping by Ellen when doing so Smile with tongue out

decdaily8closeup

Closeup – love this collection, love this tree!

decdaily8c

I haven’t shared the backs of the earlier pages yet – but I do strengthen all the backs with extra patterned paper.

decdaily9a

I’ve used the Elle’s Studio number 9 before, and I couldn’t find my second packet of these Vintage Numbers, so I just had to substitute todays number with a regular chipboard-number. Got to use the old Fancy Pants chipboard-shape while doing so, so all is good! Smile Papers, brads and rub-ons from Fancy Pants aswell Smile

decdaily9b

That day was a busy one, and I just had one generic image from that day. Luckily I forgot to use this image from the day before, from a trip to the local library, so I decided to just add that to this day.

decdaily9c

I just like the way this rub-on was used..

decdaily10a

Day ten – and 3ndypapir as todays papers.

decdaily10b

A plane-trip + the very first meeting with the newest baby in the family.

decdaily10cdecdaily11a

More Fancy Pants Designs – I feel like trying to use up the rub-ons and stuff – I love rub-ons, but usually use only one or two then move on – sigh – need to get rid of stuff! Sortof! Smile

decdaily11b

I sort of cheated for this day; The rectangular image isn’t an iPhone-image like the other ones. However, I wanted to use this image as it’s a big day for us – the whole family (minus one) on my mothers side gathered to celebrate grandma’s 95th birthday. Note the sewn flap..

decdaily11c

It partially hides the journaling for today, made on an Elle’s Studio-Christmas-tag :)

I’ve encountered one slight problem. Despite the pages not really being thick (sure, I do use some 3d-foam and stuff, can’t help it!) it looks like the pages together will become a huuuge mini (11 pages equals like 12-14cm or so – not pressing the pages flat together). Hrm! Really need to ponder how to put this together when I have all the 24 pages! Ugh! Any suggestions?
