Good morning everyone. I hope you are well.
I had a play in my craft room yesterday as I received some new stamps: Vintage Roses from Altenew.
If you haven't seen these stamps, they are remarkable with the image of rose they produce. One rose required four stamps to layer up. I really had a tough time with them as they are very complex (well for me anyway!) and there was a lot of practising and scratching my head. I finally got two cards together.
Altenew have a printable guide to help with the layers. I still need more practice with the positioning of these stamps but I found that if I laid the stamp on the outline of guide and then picked it up with my acrylic block, I was able to figure out where the next stamp would go. Have I confused you? I'm still confused lol!
Anyway here are my cards -
I created masks from post it notes for both these cards to stamp the roses and leaves.
On the insides I added a die cut rose.
Before making the vintage roses cards, I played with different inks first to see which colours would work the best together.
For the rose with four stamps (first card), I started from darkest to lightest
Real Red (SU)
Satin Red (Versafine)
Habenaro (Versafine)
For the last shade, I did second generation stamping with the Habanero ink to get the lighter colour.
I would like to enter the birthday card into the following challenges
Challenge up your Life - Masking
Craftin Desert Divas - Birthday
This next card is for my niece's upcoming birthday. I embossed the Lavinia Stamp in white powder then used my brushos to create the background.
That's all for me today. Thanks so much for looking xx
