Share the Love for Mother's Day

Hi everyone! I hope you are well.
It's Mother's Day here today. I've had a lovely relaxing time. I spent a few hours with my son and my grandchildren. The perfect day!

I have a couple of cards to share with you for Mother's Day. These two cards I made for friends to give to their mums.

Card #1
I used Altenew's Peony Bouquet to create this card. I was inspired by this card HERE.
I stamped and embossed on watercolour card. I used distress oxide inks to colour the images. This was the first time I had used these inks to watercolour and I didn't really get the depth I was hoping for. Even so, I'm happy with the end result.
I don't have the coordinating dies for this set so everything was fussy cut.

I embossed the sentiment in gold (from the Lawn Fawn Love Poems' set and die cut it out using the banner from the Lawn Fawn Double Slider Surprise die set.
In the middle I've stamped 'Happy Mother's Day'.

I added sequins and water drops. This angle really shows how pretty the gold embossing is.

Card #2
This amazing bear is from a Close to My Heart set called Bear Hugs. I stamped the main image a few times using my MISTI to get good coverage.

I die cut a generic thanks out of gold mirror card and popped it up with foam tape. Finally, I stamped the hearts and coloured them in.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - PINspirational Challenge (Photo - I used the pink and black colours and flowers on the luggage), The Four Seasons Challenge (Spring), Just us Girls (Flowers), Krafty Chicks (Stamp Act), Tic Tac Toe (Die Cut | Flowers | Gold)
Card #2 - Critter Crazy Challenges (Anything Goes), If you give a Crafter a Cookie (Photo Inspiration), Shopping Our Stash (What a Difference You've Made In My Life), Cupcake Inspiration (Mother's Day)

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Mother's Day!!!

Less is More #428 Shades of Purple

Hello everyone and welcome! It's time for a new challenge over at Less is More!

I have made two cards to share with you -

Card #1
I made a small panel using purple brusho, drying in between laying down the colour. I die cut the sentiment then smothered it with glossy accents.

Card #2
This is a flower by Clearly Besotted which I embossed then coloured with my Zig watercolour pens. The sentiment is also embossed.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - CAS on Friday (Party Time), Seize the Birthday (Die Cuts), Get Creative Challenge (Black + one other colour), Dragon Dreams Challenge (Happy Birthday)
Card #2 - Daisy Chain Challenges (CAS), Bastel-Traum (CAS), Dream Valley Challenges (Embossing)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Happy Saturday!

It's time for a new challenge over at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

ANYTHING GOES OR 'NATURE'

I decided to go with a Christmas stamp showcasing these beautiful berries. This is a slapstick stamp by Penny Black called 'Berry Kissed'

I used my Zig watercolour pens and my MISTI to stamp this image. By colouring the stamp, misting it with water, then pressing the image onto watercolour paper while using the MISTI it allows you to repeat the colouring and stamping easily. It's a great way to build up the colour and texture.

I hope to see you over at the PBSC blog!

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
Christmas 24 (Christmas Foliage), Fezziwigs Festive Frolics (Anything Festive), The House that Stamps Built (Christmas in July), Simon Says Stamp (Bright and Cheerful)

Mother's Day Trio

Good morning! I had to get started on Mother's Day cards so I got them finished over the weekend.

Card #1
This one is for my Mum -
I got the idea for this card from Kristina Werner's card HERE. This stamp set is new to me and I wanted to watercolour the mama and baby bear. It's called Bear Hugs by Mama Elephant.
I used my zig watercolour pens for the colouring. The background is an embossed stamp called Heart to Heart by CAS-ual Fridays.

Card #2
This one is for my step-mum
I used the eclipse technique for this card. The rose is from a set called Merci Beaucoup by Clearly Besotted. The alphabet dies are by MFT. The rose was coloured with Polychromo pencils.

Card #3
This one is for my Nan
Using the same set by Clearly Besotted I decided to emboss my flowers and mask to create a pretty bunch of roses. Again, I used polychromo pencils to colour the roses.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - The Paper Players (Make you Smile), Cute Card Thursday (Feminine), Watercooler Wednesdays (Anything Goes), Shopping Our Stash (Mother's Day)
Card #2 - The Clever Dexter Challenge (Spring Blooms), CAS on Friday (Favourite Flower Stamp), The Card Concept (Mother's Day)
Card #3 - Stamping Sensations (Say it with Flowers), Dare2BArtsy (In the Garden), Creative Moments (April Showers bring May Flowers)

Thank you for popping in today and take care :)

Heartfelt Sympathy

I received sad news last Thursday. My best friend's sister passed away suddenly. She was only 47 :(
I have made some cards to send to her and her mum. Some of you who came to the HLS retreat in Swindon may remember Simone and her mum, Anne. Their loss is heartbreaking.

Card #1
This is for Anne
I embossed the flowers and watercoloured them using my Zig pens. The images and coordinating dies are from a set called 'Tenderness' by Penny Black. The sentiment is a HLS set called Doodled Flowers.

Card #2
This is for Simone.
I embossed the flower image from a set called Blossom Sprays #3 by STAMPlorations. I watercoloured the image and background. The sentiment is from the same HLS set that I used for the first card.

I would like to enter my cards over at the following challenges -
Card #1 - Just Us Girls (Photo), Watercooler Challenges (Occasions), The Crafter's Cafe (Flowers),
Card #2 - Challenge up your Life (Focus on the Flowers), Cardz 4 Galz (Black and Pink), Creative Sketchy Girls (Flowers)

Thanks!

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a great weekend. I have popped into my craft room this afternoon to create a card for the Surgeon who operated on my mum back on the 21st of October.

Mum was diagnosed with possible ovarian cancer due to an enormous cyst on her left ovary. Long story short, the cyst was removed (it was approx twice the size of a shoebox..), as was both mum's ovaries, her bowel was disected off the cyst as it had wrapped itself around it. Mum was having trouble with her appetitie - well, her stomach had been pushed up into her lung cavity.

So! A HUGE thank you to Dr Robyn Sayer (and her team) from the Lifehouse Cancer Hospital in Sydney AND the amazing nursing staff. This card is going to them :)

I started by sprinkling turquoise brusho on my craft mat, then spritzed it with a bit of water. I smooshed my card into the brusho. I also used some gold mica powder mixed with water picked up with a paintbrush to flick it over the card. This created my background.

I then smooshed another panel but also heated some embossing enamel for a bit of texture. I die cut my buttrflies twice - once with the smooshed panel and also using black card. I popped up the smooshed butterflies using a little foam tape.

My mum is now home recovering well. Thanks to everyone in the crafting community who has been sending their best wishes :)

I would like to enter my card over at the following challenges -
The Crafters Cafe Challenge Blog (Insects/Butterflies), Mix it Up Challenge Blog (Anything Goes + Watercolour), Cut it Up (Thankful theme + Smooshing Technique and Die Cuts), Watercooler Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes)

Thanks for popping in today :)

Inkspirational Challenge #189 - Garden

Hi everyone. It's time for another challenge over at Inkspirational. I hope you will play along.

To be honest, I struggled with this challenge. I tried a number of cards trying to reflect garden. In my garden, we have a variety of native plants and lot's of flowers. We also have quite a lot of wildlife - kookaburras, wallabies, etc. I also own 2 Indian Running ducks that roam around the yard. We even have snakes at times... So, I was going to create an Australian themed garden card but nothing worked :(
I went with a good old flower. Even though it's winter in Australia, where I live the temperature doesn't get too cool so everything flowers all year around.

Here is my card -

I embossed the flower and leaves (from CAS-usal Fridays) and coloured them with my Zig watercolour markers. I also embossed the sentiment and die cut it with a banner die. I popped everything up with foam tape. The background is a cover die which is really pretty.

Turquoise Thanks

Hey everyone. I'm here today just for fun :) I have been trying to get ahead with my DT stuff and made a number of cards. The one I am sharing with you today is just something that I made because I could lol.

I created this using a combination of Brusho watercolour and Zig Watercolour pens.

I started by sprinking Turquoise Brusho crystals onto my craft mat, spritzing them with water and smooshing my card. I also added a bit of turquoise mica powder to the mix. I dried my panel in between smooshes.

I used my MISTI to stamp all of my images and embossed them with white powder.

I coloured my arrangement with my Zigs (Light Blue, Turquoise Green, Cobalt Blue, and May Green). Once dry, I fussy cut them out and adhered them to my panel. I finished them off with an overlay of glitter.

HLS July Watercolour Challenge

Welcome everyone! How are you? July?? Where did you pop up from?

July is actually my birthday month and we have a very fitting theme for our new watercolour challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!

Well, anything goes really but you may like to join us with our optional twist :)

Here is my card -

I had actually looked around pinterest and found a card that I loved and wanted to CASE it. Now I can't find the link for it because I made this card some time ago but it was a lady from PTI.

I die cut my panel and embossed my stars with clear powder. I used my zig markers to scribble colour and wash it out with a water pen. I embossed the sentiment from Dandelion Wishes on a smaller panel that I had watercoloured the same way.

Supplies:

I hope you will join in with us over at Happy Little Stampers!

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

CAS on Friday Guest Designer

Hey everyone! I was very lucky to be chosen as the winner over at CAS on Friday for my Smile card and am now the Guest Designer for the new challenge starting now :)

The theme for this challenge is Splash - Make a card with Watercolours.

Here is my card -

I used my Zig Watercolour pens to create my background by scribbling one colour, blending it with water, then drying it with my heat gun. Then I would add the next colour. I also spritzed the panel a little to fade out the edges.

I die cut a butterfly from a leftover watercoloured piece then overlayed it with a coordinating die using Vellum.

I decided to use something new in my stash that I had ordered from blitsy. Crushed Glass! I added some glossy accents and sprinkled the crushed glass over my butterfly. It looks awesome!

My sentiment is from the Happy Little Stampers Dandelion Wishes set which I embossed in gold.

Thank you for taking the time to pop in today and a big thanks to the girls at CAS on Friday for having me as their Guest Designer :)

HLS May Watercolour Challenge

Hello and welcome to May! The first of the month is the start of a new round of challenges over at Happy Little Stampers. We kick off with our Watercolour challenge :)

Anything Goes but you may like to play along with our optional twist.

I masked and embossed my butterflies and coloured them with Zig watercolour pens. I fussy cut them out and popped them up on my card panel with foam tape.

Once dry, I put an overlay of glitter using a clear glitter pen.

I think this gives the colours much more depth.

HLS April Watercolour Challenge

Well, hello April! I hope you are ready for a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers? We always kick off a new month with our Watercolour Challenge.

We would love if you played along with our optional twist but you don't have to. Anything Goes!

Here is my card -

I stamped my sentiment with Versafine black ink and embossed with clear powder. I masked it off and placed a stencil over the entire panel and used my versamark pad to smooch ink through the stencil. I then embossed it all with white powder.

Using Zigs, I watercoloured the panel to create a rainbow.

Below is actually my first panel that I made but for some reason I didn't quite like it. It will grow on me and end up on a card, I'm sure :)
