Review: Tawny Weber is known for writing stories with sexy Navy SEALs. I  have read many of them that were part of the Harlequin Blaze line. This is the second book in the Team Poseidon series. Uh, not sure how I missed the first book, but I did. Bad me!

This is a novel of second chances. (God I've been reading a lot of these lately) Elijah and Ava were married before and they are very different people now, but they still have feelings for each other. Ava is now working in a gym. Ava reminded me a little of one of Tawny's past heroines with that career choice. If you've read her Uniformly Hot series, Ava reminded me of Livi.

Ava and Elijah are very hot when they are together. Tawny makes those scenes full of spice and steam. I wish I could say I loved Ava, but she wasn't quite my favorite heroine. She's the type of person, I know I'd avoid in real life, not that she would't be a nice person, but she was way to "health conscious" for me. Definitely suitable for a Navy SEAL wife, but not for someone's BFF.

Her back story with Elijah is a pretty sad one, which is why I couldn't hate her. Her family was controlling and she really didn't find her inner strength until after their relationship dissolved and she lost a child while married to Elijah.

The driving force of this story was the mission involving the dirty SEAL and the possibility that another member of Poseidon might be bad as well.

The rekindling romance of Ava and Elijah was a little ho hum for my tastes, it just happened, with a small amount of conflict, but not enough to make that part of the story interesting enough for me. It was more, Elijah is back..and boom...they are falling back into things together.

I enjoyed this book, especially getting to know Elijah's team members. I can't wait to read this next book. (and the first)

Book Review: A Seal's Temptation

Author: Tawny Weber
Title: A Seal's Temptation
Publisher: Harlequin Blaze
Publish Date: Aug 18, 2015
Buy: Amazon
Boo Blurb:
Lark Sommers's dry spell is officially a sex-starved desert. Since taking over her mom's quirky coffee shop in Nowhere, Idaho—putting her own career on permanent hold—Lark's been, well, miserable. But her friends have a plan…one that starts with a superhot guy with a rockin' hard bod.

US Navy SEAL Shane O'Brian has no clue he's being set up. All he knows is that Lark does incredible things to his libido. Still, Shane can't quite bring himself to tell her what he does for a living. After all, their risqué business is temporary—no strings, no falling in love. Especially when there's no way this SEAL would ever be tempted into anything more than a sexy little fling…

Review: Tawny Weber's Uniformly Hot series of sexy SEALs never fails to disappoint. A SEAL's Temptation is the latest installment in the series. This time the story is Shane's and Lark. I have to say, Lark wasn't my favorite heroine because she didn't like coffee. (I truly don't trust anyone that doesn't like coffee), It took a little longer for her to grow on me, but she did grow on me.

What I liked the most about her was her loyalty to her family, even though it kept her from doing the things that she loved. She is an artist, running a coffee shop. When the book opens with discussions of aphrodisiac filled bake goods, I thought the story might be taking a different turn. In some ways I was a little disappointed that it did.

But then enter Lark's friend Sara and her brother, Shane, the sexy SEAL who is estranged from his family because of his career choice. When they get together, sparks fly and then they fly some more.

Family really places a huge part in this story. Sara's manipulation of Shane really served two purposes, two get him together with Lark and to repair his relationship with his mother, who has her own reasons for forcing him out of her life. (I won't go into it because that would be a spoiler)

Like the other SEAL books, there are connections with characters from past books, but the connections in this book weren't quite as prominent as in some of the other books.

Another winner by Tawny Weber!

Book Review: A Seal's Pleasure

Title: A SEAL's Pleasure

Subject: Navy SEAL Gabriel Thorne

Mission: Initiate Operation: Romance…and prove that one night isn't enough!

Explosives expert and Navy SEAL Gabriel "Romeo" Thorne makes his living tempting fate. Pushing the limits. So far, he's never lost—especially when it comes to women. That is, until his best friend's wedding, where Gabriel is suddenly face-to-face—and deliciously body-to-body—with the one woman hot enough to detonate his self-control.

Tessa Monroe is used to being in control with men. Gabriel, on the other hand, is pretty much her sex kryptonite. Hard, gorgeous, dark-eyed kryptonite. Even as her defenses whisper "danger," lust demands she take her pleasure with him and then run. Now they're skirting the edge of an explosive attraction…where one wrong move could mean disaster.

Review: If you read A SEAL's Secret you have to red A SEAL's Pleasure. This book is part of Tawny Weber's awesome, Uniformly Hot! series. It picks up where  A SEAL's Secret left off, with Livy and Mitch getting ready to walk down the aisle.

This story focuses on Romeo and Tessa, Mitch and Livy's bffs respectively. Romeo, or rather Gabriel, and Tessa are two peas in a pod when it comes to their sexuality and their views on marriage and relationships. I actually love Gabriel's nickname. It suits him.

As they both plan their seduction of the other, we find that Tawny can write sexy without the character having sex.  Romeo and Tessa don't really get it together until about halfway through the book, but there's a lot more going on that will leave most readers wanting a cold shower. Those scenes have more impact than the actual sex scenes.  They are smoking hot! Romeo teaches Tessa that sometimes it's better to wait than go in for the action right away.

There's more going on than just their hot relationship. One of Tessa's partners at her magazine is keeping secrets and for Romeo there's a SEAL teammate that isn't really a team player.

I really loved the continuity of this book, because I loved everyone in  A SEAL's Secret. It was great to see them again while getting to know Tessa and Romeo better.

A fabulous read. I can't wait for the next installment.

Subject: Lt. Commander Mitch "Irish" Donovan

His Mission: Babysit a fitness queen with a hands-on approach!

Navy SEAL Mitch Donovan always plays to win. The push-up contest at the Halloween party should have been a piece of cake. Except that the cake in question is a hot woman dressed as a delicious dessert. Now the only exercise on Mitch's mind is restraint…

Livi Kane may be The Body Babe, but she has zero confidence. This hunky SEAL, however, makes her forget everything—except for a workout involving his hot, naked bod and a whole lot of sexy, sweaty delight. But Mitch has his secrets—and Livi certainly has hers. All it will take is one unexpected encounter to turn this steamy attraction into an even bigger secret that will start showing any day now…

Review: Tawny Weber knows how to write a hot steamy military romance. This story is no different. Mitch and Livi  are similar and yet very different. A SEAL's Secret is her 6th book in the Uniformly Hot series, and if you love military romance, you'll want to read all of them.

Both are physically fit, more so than any mere mortal can expect to be. Both are at the top of their game, Mitch with his military career and Livi in her fitness career.

Mitch is an absolutely fabulous hero. He's a tough guy  but deep down he's a softie. Livi is a little bit frustrating but a very likable heroine. She seems to be steamrollered by all the people who take charge of her career, from her ex-husband to her mother. Oh god, I hated her mom until the end. Livi who is so gorgeous she can make a twinkie costume sexy, has some shyness issues. (Don't we all wish that were our only issue?)

Their relationship starts with a bet at her aunt's bar, where she and her friend Tessa crash a SEAL party. For the most part it seems like their relationship, though hot and spicy is going to be without conflict, until Livi's mom gets some ideas about a new direction for her daughter's career. Those ideas involve the SEALs and Mitch gets involved, though he's not happy about it.

I was glad, Mitch turned out more like his father than his grandfather. I like guys that end up being family men.

Once again, Tawny Weber doesn't disappoint.

Book Review: Rules Of Engagement

Author: Tawny Weber

Review Copy Provided By: The author in exchange for an honest review
Book Blurb: Take Valentine’s Day, a wedding and dancing in the moonlight, and what do you get? A sexy solider home on leave getting crazy over a girl all wrong for him… who feels so right.

Gina Mayes doesn’t know what it is about sexy soldier Rico Santiago that makes her start thinking crazy thoughts. Hot sex, that she understands. But the need to play house and make his ever-after a happy one? Thats just weird. But when she finds herself rolling around naked in the garden with him, she has to wonder… Do a by-the-book guy like Rico and a wild girl like her have a shot? Or is it just the aftereffects of one of Cupid’s Valentine’s arrows?

Review: Do you like to read before bed? Do you not want to stay up all night because you want to finish one last chapter? Well Tawny Weber's quick read, Rules Of Engagement is definitely a great read for before bedtime. (OK maybe slightly before bedtime, because it is pretty steamy)

Rico and Gina are opposites who have known each other for awhile, he's her bff's brother. He's a soldier and looking for a 50s kinda gal. Gina is anything but.

The fun part is how they click at the wedding, and how they really might have something, if they give it a go.

There's some spicy sex in the garden that is up to Tawny's Blaze standards.

If you are looking for a quick spicy...hot read. This is more than worth your time!

Book Review: Fearless

Author: Tawny Weber

Book Blurb: Promising career: check

Amazing apartment: check

The best of friends: check

Sex life: MIA

There’s just one thing missing from Gia Renyard’s life: sexual adventure. And the one man she’d like to have it with is her hot co-worker, Luke Monroe. If only company rules didn’t prohibit her from asking him out. So Gia comes up with a plan: make herself over into a fantasy seductress, follow Luke to a convention in Sin City, and have her way with him for one erotic weekend. The man will never even know who did him.

Everything is going according to plan—until Gia discovers that Luke is perfect for her outside the bedroom too. And suddenly she’s no longer content to let what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...

Review: Fearless is Tawny Weber's contribution to the new novella imprint Cosmo Red Hot Reads. These are short, spicy stories that are all about the sex! Tawny is a familiar name for lovers of the Blaze imprint and her writing style is perfect for this new venture.

Fearless is a fab Vegas story.

Gia wants to have hot, fantasy sex with a guy from work.

2 things prevent her from doing that.

She's not quite as forward as her other friends and there's a rule at work prohibiting office relationships. The good thing is, she's heard her fantasy guy Luke will be leaving the company.

So off to Vegas she goes after a good makeover that will guarantee the guy will not recognize her from work.

Now comes the good part, the sex!

Of course she gets the guy!

This is why I love Tawny's writing. Her sex scenes are hot without dipping into the overly graphic area that most erotica seems to take. Plus, Tawny's story is part hot sex, part romance. You know Gia has got to get her guy.

So there is more than just a wild Vegas weekend. There are consequences.

I like how Tawny wraps things up and gets Gia and Luke together, thanks to a pair of totally awesome shoes.

Another great read from Tawny!

Review: I've been a fan of Tawny Weber since I first started reading the Blaze line back in 2009. A friend of mine turned me on to the books and there are some really great authors writing for this imprint, Tawny is one of them.

Midnight Special is something different for me. I don't usually do military reads for Special Ops books, but this is Tawny so I thought I'd give it a go, and I'm glad I did.

Like all of her books there's an instant connection between the hero (Hunter) and the heroine (Marnie). What's funny is how much alike both characters are. They are both career driven people that really can't be bothered with committed relationships. But they weren't looking for one anyway.

They get thrown together accidentally (almost on purpose). Marnie is trying to stalk him for an article that would get her a promotion. Hunter has to travel by train (or car) to San Francisco to get to a trial. (An injury prevents him from flying)

Through a mix up, the two of them end up sharing a berth on the Midnight Special. (A train that's doing a 40s whodunit for all the passengers)

What happens on that train is hot and spicy! It takes awhile for things to happen, but I'm glad their was more tension than just the two of them instantly falling into bed. It gave you time to see what kind of people these characters are, and as you get to know them, you really like them, even when everything seems to fall apart.

Hey there's got to be conflict! That comes when Marnie leaves after some burnin' love and then Hunter discovers she's a reporter.

They both have conflicts to resolve and for Marnie, she seeks advice from her like minded aunt.

I liked the compromise that Marnie came to in the end, which furthered  her career, but didn't..well read the book and see, because if I say anything else it will spoil things.

For new to Tawny fans, this book has the bonus backlist title Coming On Strong, which I read back in 2009 when it came out!
