Lucasta Barnes knows the folly believing in magic can lead to--and she won't accept that her illicit tryst with a notorious rake was the result of anything more than pure lust. Or that it has bonded them together forever. Yet, she can't deny that she yearns for just one more night in his arms...

David, Earl of Elderwood, is used to women being enchanted by him, but ever since a passionate encounter with Lucasta three years ago, he desires only her. How can he convince his thoroughly practical paramour that love is the greatest magic of all?

Book two of the May Day Mischief duet.

Review: This is the second Undone! Its the counterpart to the other Undone! The Magic Of His Touch, which was Peony & Alexis' story.

I love Barbara's writing and she brings magic to life in these two short stories. I prefer The Magic Of His Touch, because it is a bit spicier. This story is more about the conflict between David, Earl of Elderwood and Lucasta, who found each other the same way Peony and Alexis did. (Someone was rolling naked in the May Day dew!)

Their encounter happened years earlier, and Lucasta has been denying her attraction to David because she doesn't believe in magic.

While this book isn't as steamy in the sex department, it does give you another perspective of what happened with Peony and Alexis.

I really enjoyed how these two stories intertwined with one another. You can read one without having read the other, but I highly suggest reading both.

Tired of being paraded before every eligible bachelor, Peony Whistleby decides it's time to find her true love—through the ancient custom of rolling naked in the dew on May Day morning. But the magic goes awry when she is caught in the act—and by an entirely unsuitable man. And yet, the way his eyes linger upon her flesh ignites a sensual craving that can only be satisfied by his touch…

Book one of the May Day Mischief duet.

Review: When you need a quick fix story to keep your attention for an hour or so, or however long it takes to read 59 pages, you want to find an Undone by Barbara Monajem.

Why?

Because she knows how to write a story that has the romance and the steamy sex and the happily ever after that you want, and she does it in such a way that you feel satisfied with the ending. Nothing is hurried.

It is hard to believe that a story this short can be this good.

You had to feel sorry for Peony. No one felt that she could find her true love and she had to resort to an ancient custom of rolling naked in the dew on May Day to see if her True Love would find her.

The only person who found her was her cousin's fiance, Sir Alexis.

What a tangled web! Especially when Peony starts to feel things for Sir Alexis and he seems to return those feelings.

There's a lot of magic afoot here and maybe even a haunted bedchamber.

The sex is just the right amount of steamy too and timed perfectly to come towards the end of the story.

A great slightly racy regency short!

Ebook Review: Notorious Eliza

Barbara Monajem's Notorious Eliza is fast, spicy read. Its a perfect read on a snowy February day.

Its the story of the infamous widow Eliza Dauntry, who makes her living painting courtesans. She takes a job redoing a risque mural for Patrick Felham's uncle. Eliza is doing the paintings so that she could provide for her son James.

Patrick returns to his Uncle's estate to find Eliza, who just happens to be the widow of his boyhood friend and a woman his harbored a secret desire for.

Its no surprise that when they meet sparks fly, but Eliza has reservations, about money, how people will think and reputations. They manage to get together though and have a happily ever after.

I loved that Eliza was strong willed and such a good mother, just as Patrick was determined to be a good father. The best part was how comfortable she was with her sexuality.

So if you are looking for a quick spicy read, this is a great place to start, and while you're at it check out more of the short stories from Harlequin Historical Undone. They'll definitely heat things up.
