Perspective. Everything changes when placed in perspective. My perspective is different from yours and yours, mine. I was talking about morals with my friend online. Morals are set by the society and it's therefore, perspectives. If the majority thinks it is morally right, it is. If not, it's not. But, usually those who set the moral standards are not placed in the situation whereby the areas are grey. Even if they are, i expect morals to be slightly bent in their favour.
So, what are morals then?
The topic of morals started when my fren asked me if he should go after a girl who is attached. He didnt know of the boyfriend's existence beforehand and when he does, oh damn the abyss of love. So is he on the right side of morals if he pursues his love and his emotions? I told him to seize the day as it is. Love is one thing that is never fair. He was shocked that i said that. He said i have changed in my perspective of life. Maybe i did. I was more idealistic about not going after an attached person ( i still do) but if the situation is that i will regret if i let go of the person, maybe i will try. In his case, the girl is interested, he is interested, i told him carpe diem.
But i told him that if it can happen once, it can happen again. If the girl left the bf for him, it can happen when he is attached to the girl. He wanted the thrill so i gave him the right advice for a thrill.
I can relate to this as i was faced with a similar situation earlier on. My friend told me to go for it if i really like the guy. But to me, the guy can be a good friend but i wont risk the gf's friendship or everyone else's for this. I am in essence limited by the morals set by others but i am willing to in this case.
Morals oh morals, qu'est-ce que?
