Alphabet Woof Book Review
"One dog, a wish and some magical soup provides children, ages 4-8, with an exciting
read!
Alphabet Woof! is the story of Moxy the dog who eats
magic soup and his wish comes true: He can talk! This gift leads Moxy and his family to
some exciting adventures, but in the end, he realizes his greatest gift is not his ability to
talk but rather, his ability to talk with the people he loves, who love him back.
Published in both English and Spanish editions, author Sherrie Madia skillfully combines
a collection of original rhyming verses with humorous and familiar concepts about the
joys and challenges of family values and the understanding of what really matters. Her
comedic timing offers readers a chance to laugh at life's outrageous moments and also
reminds us of the responsibility of loving and protecting our four-legged friends. A
portion of the proceeds benefits the SPCA.
About the book:
Alphabet Woof! By Sherrie A. Madia, Ph.D.
ISBN: 978-0982618578
Publisher: Basecamp Communications
Date of publish: April 2010
Pages: 30

About the author:
Sherrie A. Madia, Ph.D. is an educator, author, and communications coach. She is
Director of Communications, External Affairs at the Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania, and has just completed her latest book on the business of communicating
titled, The Social Media Survival Guide. But her most important job is being a mommy.
Daughters Emma (age 14) and Anna (age 12) remind her every day of what's really
important. "
This is such a cute story!!
We read it to Ben, and immediately after, he wanted it read again.
Moxy is a cute dog, who one day gets his wish to be able to talk.
Oh and he takes advantage of it and talks, and talks, and talks!!
My absolute favorite part of this book is the illustrations!! Patrick Carlson is a great drawer. The pictures are so colorful and expertly drawn.
This is a great book for any child around 4-8 yrs old!!
~~All opinions expressed are 100% mine. I was not paid for this review. I did receive a copy of the book to read thanks to Bostick Communications~~

The mirror holds water in the back, which prevents the mirror from fogging. It really works.
My Husband hasn't missed any spots either!! He now has baby soft skin!!! lol
I also find the mirror handy for when I wash my face, and remove makeup!!
I really like this mirror, and I recommend it to everyone (especially men!!)

Survivor Fantasy Game Week 3
I still can't believe how dumb Shannon was spiting off stupidity like that at tribal council. That was dumb!
I think Marty is extremely jealous of Jimmy Johnson. He needs to grow up!!
Fabio is a nut!!
I think Marty did a good thing not hiding the idol, but then it might cause problems if he gets on peoples nerves.
Tyrone should have switched off with someone else when he got tired. That's too bad cause they would have won.
Poor Kelly B. She saw the idol clue first, and Naonka is going to take it from her.
Wow Naonka ticked the whole team off with her banana squishing. That was idiotic and childish!!
Why does Marty hate Jimmy Johnson soooo much?? Wow!!
Poor Jimmy. I hope he doesn't go home.
I don't really want any of the oldies to go home. They all seem like pretty decent people.
Poor Jimmy. That was mean getting rid of him. I also think that was stupid on their parts. He helped hold the team together.
We shall see.
So on that note I need to say goodbye to Mavericks Mommy.
Thank you for playing.

Hells Kitchen Fantasy Game Week 2
What is with the two hour episodes?? Granted we get to watch more each week, the show ends too quickly each season that way.
Raj is getting weirder and weirder!!
I was disappointed with the ambulances. I thought there was an emergency.
The girls are doing really well feeding the paramedics. The men not so well.
Sabrina is sooooo rude, but Emily was an idiot for burning the bacon. How did she get it that black??
How can the men not get any breakfasts out?? Wow!!
Trapeze school sounds fun!!
What is Sabrina wearing?? The big red flower in the hair, interesting!!
Raj is really lazy and scary. What is wrong with that man??
Sabrina isn't any better. Running away from prep is lazy.
Why is Raj adding to recipes?? That is stupid!! Then he fights with Ramsey. WOW!
Oh and you cant forget the fact that he also eats his mistakes.
Gail spacing out was funny while her meat was really on fire!!
I don't see how the girls lost, but I agree that Emily should be up there, and so should Sabrina.
I completely saw Raj going. I yelled it as Ramsey said "The person leaving hells kitchen is..."
Ramsey asking the chefs not to smoke for 48 hrs is funny. Anyone who is a smoker knows that stress makes you want it more!!!
Sabrina continues to annoy me!! Her rav dish didn't get a point either so she shouldn't bad mouth Gail. Then she couldn't be bothered to milk the cows, and she complained the whole time during prep.
I can understand Trev's anger, but on this show, you need to keep your anger in check!!
Sabrina could not handle meat at all. That is sad. Then she makes Gail look bad on purpose!!
Why did Boris start washing dishes during service??
The women finished their service, but the men were horrible!! Wow.
The marriage proposal was cute!!
Wow Nona looked like an idiot not being able to decide who was to go up for elimination.
Poor Louis. He seems like a nice guy. He reminds me of Dane Cook!!
So on that note I need to say goodbye to both Chris and Tara.
Thank you both for playing!!

Hurricane Mia Book Review And ~~Giveaway~~
"Mia's entire summer is ruined! First, she learns that her mom is sick. Then, she and her younger brother Jack are whisked away to their grandparents' home on a remote island in the Caribbean. Mia is furious until she meets Neisha, an island girl, who tells her about "the tea that cures everything." Will Mia be able to find the tea? Will it cure her mom? And will it prove to be her plane ticket back home? Join Mia on an incredible adventure, where she sails the high seas, meets wild donkeys, explores uninhabited islands, and searches for a magical tea."
This was a really cute story. Perfect for your young teenage reader.
Poor Mia has had it rough. Her Mother gets sick. She is sent to live with her Grandparents for the summer, and she is forced to miss out on vacationing with her best friend.
When Mia arrives at her Grandparents home, she becomes completely bored, and fights with her Grandmother over everything.
When Mia learns about a Tea that might solve all her problems, she recruits her new friend and her Brother to go on an adventure.
I thought this book was really cute. The only thing I wished the Author would have elaborated on was how Mia's Mother does at the end.
Other wise this is a really cute book with great illustrations by Susan Spellman!

Stride Underwear Review And ~~Giveaway~~
"Berkshire Axis Innovations is committed to developing smart technology solutions to improve everyday quality of life. As the founder of Berkshire Axis Innovations, Wendy Spencer is the passion behind the brand. A busy working mom who also likes to run, ski and socialize with her friends, Wendy is as comfortable running the Boston Marathon (twice) as she is relaxing on the sofa with a cup of tea and a magazine on a Sunday afternoon. Her mantra? Find the time to find your passion. As a result, she's always on the lookout for ways to make life less complicated.
While training during and after her pregnancy Wendy was surprised, like many women, to realize that she had developed light incontinence. She was even more surprised to discover that there really weren't any discreet, comfortable or stylish solutions to cope with light leaks. This was extraordinary given that roughly 1 in 4 women suffer from light incontinence -- small urinary leaks when one coughs, laughs or jumps.
With her very busy schedule, pantyliner were out. Not only are pantyliner ineffective, uncomfortable and a big inconvenience, the fact that there are more than 1.2 billion tampons, pads & pantyliner dropped into landfills annually just didn't make seem to make sense. Why couldn't there be a washable, stylish solution for light leaks?
Work began, and with the development of the revolutionary OQUOS™ patented fabric technology*, Wendy could see the opportunity unfold. Building OQUOS™ right into the underwear became the catalyst for STRIDE™ washable panties and briefs."
There are many days when I wish I wasn't a Women!!!
Women have lots of female issues that Men never have to deal with. It's not fair!!
When I was contacted to try Stride Underwear, I said sure why not!! If they make me feel better about any female issues, they have to be plus in my book.
I got to try their new Seamless Panties.
The panties took a little getting used too because of the added padding in the bottom area, but after that they felt like regular panties.
Stride also has a variety of other styles including the French Cut Brief (pictured below) or the Lacy Thong.
What makes Stride Panties different then regular panties is their Oquos Technology.
OQUOS™ Technology
The first layer of the OQUOS™ technology wicks away moisture 8 times more effectively than cotton for superior dryness. It is designed to maintain its shape to improve body contact during normal activity (such as walking, running or sneezing) and will continue to provide comfort and protection for up to 100 washes. Plus, it’s so discreet no one will know you’re wearing it!
The patented OQUOS™ sub-layers rapidly disperse light leaks, naturally deodorizing while the super-absorbent fibers contained in the liner absorb up to an ounce of moisture.
Coming in 2011, Stride is bringing Men their own line of underwear.
Confidence Is for Everyone
Men just don't talk about it. Yet somehow, they too manage perspiration and moisture. And so far, options have been limited to disposable and makeshift solutions.
This is why we've developed STRIDE Homme™. Comfortable men's briefs and boxer briefs that look, feel and fit great. The difference is that STRIDE Homme™ has OQUOS™ technology woven right into the lining, absorbing light leaks throughout the day or night.
There's nothing to change, no pads or guards to dispose of - just regular underwear with an extraordinary difference - confidence is built right in!
I really liked the comfort of these panties, and would recommend them to anyone who wants a little extra protection!!
Stride is offering a great discount right now.
You can get 30% off a purchase of $35 or more by using code STRIDE818
Or if you would like to try a pair of Stride Panties, you are in luck.
One lucky reader is going to get their very own pair in what ever size, design and color they would like!!

Amazing Race Fantasy Game Week 1
I love this show. I am so glad it's back on!!
Yeah, they started in Massachusetts!! Too bad I didn't know ahead of time. I would have gone out there to see them off!!
Good luck fighting Logan Airport!! That is a disaster zone!!!
Those are some tiny cars they are driving!!
Logan is sooooo hard to navigate around!!
Chad and Stephanie made a silly blunder, but luckily it didn't hurt them!!
Connor and Jonathan are going to have trouble with this race. I can understand getting lost in Boston though!!
I drive on the wrong side in my Postal Truck, but it's not standard shift. That sounds difficult!!
Andie and Jenna are having alot of trouble with driving standard. That sucks burning out the clutch in the middle of the road!!
Luckily the car still runs!! She should have boned up on her driving skills before the show!!
I can't believe people are having trouble driving standard!!
Climbing the castle was cute!!
Poor Gary and Mallory. That would be our luck, blowing a tire!!
Those turtle shell boats look like fun!!
Poor Ron and Tony are really far behind.
Flinging melons sounds like fun!! So does jousting!!
Good job Jill and Thomas coming in first and getting that bonus pass.
Ouch that had to hurt when Claire hit herself in the head with a Mellon!!
The Father and son team, Michael and Kevin are cute!! Trying to get into that boat!!
Nick and Vicki are not very smart are they?? At least they didn't get eliminated the first round.
Poor Ron and Tony. They tried hard. They seemed like nice guys!!

Handy Paint Pail Review And ~~Giveaway~~
"The Handy Paint Pail was created in 2001 in classic Do-It-Yourself style. Mark Bergman was doing some painting around his house using the standard "coffee can" paint container. When Mark’s hand began to tire, he designed a strap out of duct tape and the Handy Paint Pail was born.
This unique new product has been achieving tremendous sales results in hardware stores, home centers and paint stores since it hit the market in February of 2002. Both do-it-yourself painters and professionals are attracted to the ergonomic design and multiple features.
The Handy Paint Pail was developed to solve issues that everyone has experienced when painting. It will hold up to a quart of paint, and the adjustable strap allows for custom fit and comfort. The strap can also affix to a belt for hands free use when climbing a ladder. A magnet is mounted on the inside to hold the brush, and a built in scraper lip removes excess paint. The Handy Paint Pail is made in the USA out of polypropylene material, which is extremely durable, solvent resistant and easy to clean.
New Handy Paint Pail disposable liners were developed and became available in December, 2002. The liners are being sold in six packs and are made in the USA using 100% recycled material. The liners eliminate clean up and allow for quick color changes. Disposable covers were added to the line in December, 2003. The covers prevent paint from drying out on the job while masking or doing other tasks. They are sold in packs of four and come with clip strips.
The Handy Paint Pails are sold in cases and are also available in a variety of freestanding floor displays.
In 2004, after 2 years of success with the HANDy Paint Pail, Bercom saw a demand to add a pail that holds more paint and has the same features as the original pail but also can accommodate a mini roller and larger brush. This demand created the HANDy Paint Pail PRO SERIES, which also includes liners. With this addition Bercom created a wide variety of merchandising displays that function like vending machines.
The year 2007 brought more innovation to the Handy Paint Pail family when Bercom launched the new HANDy Ladder Pail. What makes this product unique is the patented bracket which easily attaches to most step and extension ladders. This new Multi-use pail is the perfect tool for any project up and down a ladder. The built in bracket, magnetic brush holder, roller grid and tool and rag holder makes this multi-use pail the perfect answer for any project on or off a ladder.
In 2008, Bercom made some changes and improvements to their existing products and expanded their product line, beginning with the color of the pails. Bercom believed that if they urge their customers to continuously change colors, why shouldn’t they? Not to mention the new color was extremely eye catching! So, after five years of producing gray pails, Bercom changed the color to red. Following that trend, Bercom changed the color of the Pro Series Paint Pail, made it lighter in weight, lower in price, and re-named it the HANDy Roller Pail. In addition, requests from customers wanting to attach the Roller Pail to a ladder led to the creation of the HANDy Ladder Hook. Not only does this item secure the HANDy Roller Pail or a standard paint can to any ladder, this mini-bungee can be used for many other applications. The most exciting and successful new product from Bercom in 2008, however, was the HANDy Paint Cup. This new entry-level paint cup hit the ground in a dead sprint. Although it does not have all the features as the original HANDy Paint Pail, it grants the customer the ability to afford something similar. The disposable HANDy Paint Cup holds up to a pint of paint and has a built in magnet, which makes it perfect for trim work and craft projects!"
Ben and I do ALOT of Home Repair Projects!! Painting is one of those things that we always seem to be doing.
For anyone who paints, you understand how big of a pain it can be to climb a ladder and try to get the high parts of the wall.
When I found out about the Handy Paint Pail, I (and Ben) jumped for joy!!
Who would have ever thought that a simple enough concept, could be the greatest invention of all time for a home owner??
Ben and I just built a wall in one of our bedrooms, and of course it needed to be painted.
I got to try the Handy Paint Pail first (Yeah!!) and the painting went soooo much faster.
The handle on the Pail fit nice around my hand, and was easy to hold.
It was alot nicer to not have to walk up and down the ladder every three minutes!!
The other great thing about the Handy Paint Pail is the easy clean up.
The pail comes with plastic liners that you can chuck, or wash clean with a hose!!
The great folks at Bercom have a variety of other great tools too including a Ladder Pail.
The Handy Paint Pail is a dream for any painter and lucky for me, I get to make someones dreams come true!!
I get to give to one lucky reader their very own Handy Paint Pail with some liners!!

Make Me Laugh Monday 9/27/10
When I was in my younger days,
I weighed a few pounds less,
I needn't hold my tummy in
To wear a belted dress.
But now that I am older,
I've set my body free;
There's comfort of elastic
Where once my waist would be.
Inventor of those high-heeled shoes
My feet have not forgiven;
I have to wear a nine now,
But used to wear a seven.
And how about those pantyhose-
They're sized by weight, you see,
So how come when I put them on
The crotch is at my knees?
I need to wear these glasses
As the prints were getting smaller;
And it wasn't very long ago
I know that I was taller.
Though my hair has turned to grey
And my skin no longer fits,
On the inside, I'm the same old me,
Just the out side's changed a bit.

Same Kind Of Different As Me Book Review
"A true, inspirational story that crosses the barriers of society.
Meet Denver, raised under plantation-style slavery in Louisiana until he escaped "da Man"—in the 1960s—by hopping a train. Then, after another 18 homeless years on the streets of Dallas, God moved . . . and a godly woman named Deborah prayed, listened, and obeyed. Mountains began to move, beginning with her husband, Ron, an international art dealer accustomed to the world of Armani suits and art-collecting millionaires.
The story takes a devasting twist when Deborah discovers she has cancer. Will Deborah live or die? Will Denver learn to trust a white man? Will Ron embrace his dying wife's vision to rescue Denver? Or will Denver be the one rescuing Ron?
There's pain and laughter, doubt and tears, and in the end a triumphal story that readers will never forget."
This was a tear jerker!! The problems that the characters had to face were horrible.
Especially Denver with the living conditions of his childhood and the death of his Big Mama and Cousin Chook horrifically.
You have the "Rich White Man", and the "Homeless Black Man" tied together by a women.
Poor Deborah has a lot on her plate too!!
It took me awhile to sit down to finish the book. The beginning was a little slow, but once I focused, I was hooked.
You can get your own copy on Amazon for $6.74

Twilight Trivia Over All ~~Winner!!~~
Ashley and Buster Mama know their Twilight!!
I ran the game for five weeks. Buster Mama won three times, Ashley won Twice.
So I wrote down the numbers one to five, and put the name next to each weeks winning number. (Does that make sense??)
Any who, I used Random.org and Buster Mama won the over all prize!!! She is getting a Twilight Tote Bag!!!
Congrats Busters Mama. Stay tuned for another game coming soon!!!
Fantasy Games Rules And How To Play
It's very simple. For each of the Reality TV shows above, I list that shows cast here on my blog.
People who want to play, pick a name and that is their player through the game.
As people get eliminated on the shows, they get eliminated on here. Last person standing/winner of the show, wins a prize on here.
Not too much work involved to play!!!
Rules are very simple. Have fun!!!
Now for those of you Survivor players, I have an extra special secret game that will be starting next week. This game is just for the Survivor players. Stay tuned, I will give you details soon.
I hope that answers every ones questions. If you have any others, please let me know!!
Good luck!!!
