@Pupperoni Has Our Pup Saying 'Woof Yeah' This International Bacon Day! #baconpup #woofyeah

**All opinions expressed are 100% my own.  I was not compensated for this post.  I was given product for review purposes.**

Bacon: Man's Best Friend's, Best Friend

Is there any better feeling than sharing a moment of pure happiness with your pooch? Literally nothing makes me happier than seeing our dog's tail wagging when he gets a taste of his favorite treats - I feel like I'm just as excited as he is! So when I saw that International Bacon Day was coming up on the calendar, I wanted to find a way to celebrate one of my favorite foods (who doesn't love bacon, am I right??) with my favorite four-legged friend.
We picked up Pup-peroni's new Filet Mignon & Bacon Flavors treats and brought them home for a taste test with our pooch. These treats are no joke - they're made with delicious angus steak and pack a bacon-y punch that our dog absolutely loves. Plus the soft, chewy texture gets his tail wagging - I can tell he's really loving these treats. I think I enjoy giving him these Filet Mignon & Bacon Flavors treats as much as he loves eating them!
No matter how you celebrated 'International Bacon Day', your pooch will be saying "woof yeah" to the tasty flavor of Pup-Peroni Filet Mignon & Bacon treats!
You can learn more about Pup-Peroni Filet Mignon & Bacon flavored dog snacks through the link below:

Happy Healthy Cat Month: Show the World That You and Your Cat Are #PurrfectTogether @Meow Mix

**All opinions expressed are 100% my own.  I was not compensated for this post.  I was given product for review purposes.**

**My Sister Erin and her new kitty!!**

September is Happy Healthy Cat Month—and there's never been a better time to show our cats some extra love.

Recently, the cat lovers at Meow Mix ran the Purrfect Together Survey, which asked cat parents around the country about their special bond with their four-legged friends. Here are some of the meow-nificent results:

83% of cats take naps with their humans

This is surprising—and not because 83% of people love napping with kitty. The bigger question is: Who are the 17% of deprived humans who don't get to experience the joy of napping with their cats?

80% of cat parents believe they can interpret their kitty's meows

While humans and cats may purr in different languages, that doesn't stop most cat mommies and daddies from understanding what their kitty wants—whether it be some treats, cat nip, or just a snuggle partner.

72% of cat parents love to surprise their kitties with treats

Speaking of treats, nothing makes a cat happier than some spontaneous, unexpected goodies from the person who cares for them the most.

55% of cats love chicken-flavored nibbles

Exciting news: Meow Mix has just released a brand new culinary-inspired food made with real chicken or salmon, Bistro Recipes—a classy meal for a classy kitty! Head over Meow Mix's new Purrfect Together web portal right meow, and you can download a coupon for $2.50 off any bag of Meow Mix Bistro Recipes.

And that's not all! You need a classy painting to go with that classy meal. On the Purrfect Together portal, you can enjoy the unique experience of converting a photo of you and your cat into a Meowsterpiece—a digital "oil" painting that helps express and immortalize your cat-love on canvas. I did it, and you should too!

Now it's time to show me how special your human-cat bond is! Post your Meowsterpiece on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with the hashtag #PurrfectTogether. Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.

Wishing a fantastic Happy Healthy Cat Month to you and your feline friend!

Three Back-to-School Morning Routine Tips For the Whole Family #MilkBone #BackToSchool

Kevin is not just a dog to us.  He is our baby, our best friend, our favorite brown companion!!  We have had him with us for about a year and a half now.  I think he likes it here!!  We have a specific routine now that the boys are back in school.  Kevin is pretty good about remembering, all though I know he would rather sleep in!!

It takes a little extra oomph in the morning to get Kevin out of bed.  He usually climbs out of his, and runs to one of his brothers beds!!

Dogs and their human companions have something very important in common: both are creatures of habit.

With school back in session—it's the perfect time to make sure the whole family gets off on the right paw with the right habits at the start of the day. (And it's so much more fun when the whole family is involved!)

1Get active with your four-legged trainer in the morning.
40% of doggy mommies and daddies do healthy things with their pups at the same time that they do healthy things for their families. By adding doggy exercise to the rest of your family's morning routine, your dog can actually begin to encourage the rest of your family to stay active!

2. Involve your kids in caring for Fido (and for themselves).
Dogs, just like young kids, need role models. 57% of dog parents who also have human children involve their kids in caring for their pet—instilling responsibility and good daily habits like brushing their teeth and taking their vitamins.

3. Make sure your dog consistently receives the nutrients necessary to live a long and happy life.
1 in 3 pet parents are confused about what's needed for proper pet nutrition, meaning many pup parents are unaware that their dogs' diets may be lacking in essential nutrients.  Milk-Bone Good Morning Daily Vitamin Treats were created specifically to promote your dog's well-being and longevity. So when you're giving your kids their daily vitamins, remember that your pup needs their nutrient-packed treats too.  Your dog adds so much to the family—make sure to take care of him/her for the long-term!

Learn more about Milk-Bone's Good Morning Daily Vitamins on their site:
What are your family's favorite morning routines? Tell us how you and your pooch get ready to take on the day in the comments section below!

Morris the Cat's 'Live Well & Prospurr' Sweepstakes #MorrisFeeds

With spring coming up and after that, the dreaded bathing suit season (eek!), I know everyone's searching for ways to look their best. And my readers have a 'paw up' on the competition because we're about to get some style and wellness tips from someone who knows a thing or two about looking awesome... I'm talking, of course, about Morris the Cat.

In case you're not familiar with this illustrious feline, Morris is the original celebricat, starring in over 50 9Lives cat food commercials from the 1970s up through today. He's even been called "the Clark Gable of cats," and that's about as debonair as it gets! In his "Dear Morris" column, he'll be answering some readers' burning questions about good grooming, and he's also giving away a human-sized, 9Lives-branded bathrobe, a $300 Spa Finder gift card, and a whole year's supply of 9Lives cat food! Enter at his website: http://prospurr.9lives.com/

Dear Morris,

I love my cat, Baxter, but man, does he shed! Every time I leave the house I'm covered in cat hair. It's getting to the point where we can't even cuddle together without me looking like the sticky side of a lint roller! Unleash your wisdom, Morris... there must be something I can do.

Sincerely,

Hairy Harry

Dear Hairy Harry,

If your cat is shedding on you, the thing you should tell him is... "thank you!" Being covered in cat fur means you get to look like a cat, which means you get to look more awesome. However, if this isn't your desired effect (although I can't imagine why it wouldn't be), try wearing clothes the same color as your cat to camouflage the fur. Kind of like a cat camouflages himself in clean laundry--hey, come to think of it, that could be why you're always covered in fur! You can also try brushing Baxter a couple times a week to remove excess fur and redistribute the natural oils on his skin--now, that's what I call a win-win!

Dear Morris,

My teenage daughter spends 45 minutes in front of the mirror every day primping and brushing her hair. I think this is excessive but she tells me it's what makes her happy. Morris, since you always look fabulous, I thought you could give me some advice--what's the best way to get her to spend less time in front of the mirror?

Sincerely,

Fur-ustrated Mamma

Dear Fur-ustrated Mamma,

I know it may seem like I just wake up looking this good, but believe it or not, I put in lots of long hours licking my fur. In fact, as a cat, I groom up to 50% of the time I'm awake. Grooming not only makes you look good, it can be used for meditation--kind of like focusing really hard on a red laser dot. So I say, take the time you need to feel your best--whether it's 5 minutes or 45. It's a very purrsonal choice.

Dear Morris,

Lately I've been looking slightly less than my best, which is unfortunate because I just started a new job and I wanted to make a good first impression. But instead, my eyes are all puffy and I just haven't been my chipper self. I'm not sure how to get out of this style rut. Morris, can you help me get my grooming groove back?

Sincerely,

Fashion Faux-Paw

Dear Fashion Faux-Paw,

Let me shed some light (and some fur) on this situation. The main thing I took away from your question is that you're STRESSED! Starting a new job can be stressful and can lead to falling out of typical routines and lack of sleep. I should know because every time I start shooting a new commercial, I only sleep 15 hours a day instead of 16. But don't despair! There's one failsafe way to calm those nerves and give you back your glow. I'm talking about a massage, specifically a kitty massage. We kitties LOVE to give massages--well, we think of it more as kneading but you humans don't seem to know the difference. A kitty massage will help you relax, and in turn, feel and look better. Plus, it's purr-ty much impossible to feel stressed when you have the love of a cat.

There you have it! Thank you, Morris the Cat, for sharing this invaluable grooming advice. Readers, how many of you have a good-looking, well-groomed feline at home? You could win them a whole year's supply of delicious 9Lives cat food, plus a human-sized, 9Lives-branded bathrobe and Spa Finder gift card for you! Just go to Morris' Live Well & Prospurr website to enter. Then, 'paw it forward' by tweeting #MorrisFeeds, and Morris will donate a bowl of 9Lives cat food to a kitty in need.

Christmas Has Gone To The Dogs! Furry Friends Treats ~~Giveaway~~

Happy Howlidays!

I love the holiday season — the Christmas lights, trees, the yummy food, and of course, all of the festivities! You know who else loves them too? My baby, Kevin. I'm thinking it may be because of all the extra lovin' and gifts he gets from the family.

It turns out that I'm not the only pet mama to spoil her pup during this time of year.  That's why I love this super cute website called TheNosePrint.com from Big Heart Pet Brands (the makers of Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni, Canine Carry Outs, and Milo's Kitchen).  They really know how to celebrate the holidays with your pup!
On TheNosePrint.com, check out some of the fun doggy do-it-yourself ideas they've dreamed up:
My favorite was the Treat-Stuffed Stocking!!
.

My boys have been asking what they can make for the pups in our life (there are 7!!) I think these will be cute!!
I'm also loving the homemade paw-print ornament. I've seen these with children's handprints before. Why not have your fur child make an ornament too?

Other great homemade doggy gifts include a treat bouquet, a sweet treat jar, and a ho-ho-howliday treat bag. Yes, Kevin would want them all.

The NosePrint.com also asked 3,000 Americans about their dog-related holiday habits, including whether their dog is involved in gift-giving, stocking-stuffing, Christmas sweater-wearing, and other holiday traditions.  Kevin personally gives all the gifts in our house.  He's so thoughtful!!

What they found is that Americans really LOVE their pets. For instance, did you know 71% of dog parents give gifts to their pups? Have you completed your Christmas doggy shopping yet?

According to the survey, here are the top 5 reasons people give gifts to their dog:

 1. To express love to my dog:  72%
 2. Because it's fun for me:  60%
 3. To help my dog feel included like a family member:  54%
 4. To give my dog a moment of happiness:  53%
 5. To feel closer and bond with my dog:  43%

For me, I like to give presents to Kevin because of all of these reasons, and because he's just plain awesome! He's such an important part of the family — I can't imagine the holidays without him.

The study also shared how often dogs are included into popular Christmas traditions:

1.    48% of dog parents hang a Christmas stocking for their dog. (Yes I do!!)
2.    43% of dog parents include a dog in a photo for a family holiday card.  (Yes I do!!)
3.    32% post photos of their dog on social media with a holiday message.  (Yes I do!!)
4.    29% dress up their dog in a holiday-themed costume or outfit.  (Yes I do!!)
5.    22% make or buy dog-themed holiday decorations. (Yes I do!!)

For photos and instructions on how to add more dog-related fun to your home holiday traditions, check out these cool projects they have here:
Finally, want to know which states have the most spoiled pups?

The 2015 TheNosePrint.com Santa Dog Index ranks states based on how much, on average, dog parents will spend on their furry kids:  (I am shocked Massachusetts is not number 1!!)

Top 10 States That Spend the Most on Holiday Gifts for Dogs:

 1. New Jersey: $29.61 (average gift spending per dog for state residents)
 2. New York: $28.95
 3. Pennsylvania: $28.75
 4. Utah: $27.75
 5. Georgia: $27.04
 6. California: $26.07
 7. Washington: $25.81
 8. Florida: $25.13
 9. Illinois: $24.98
 10. Virginia: $24.58

Apparently, it's good to be a dog in the New York tri-state area.  You can find the complete rankings of all 50 states at www.TheNosePrint.com.

The good folks at TheNosePrint.com would love to offer one of my readers a terrific Christmas doggy care package filled with some of the most delicious stocking stuffer treats for your baby!!

Halloween Hounds: Milk-Bone Study Shows Dogs Are Ultimate Trick-or-Treaters And A ~~Giveaway~~

I am a huge Halloween fan.  Right now because the kids are still young enough, I can get away with us all wearing themed costumes.  Last year I was Alice, my Husband was a Card, and my kids were Dweedle Dee and Dweedle Dum!!  I can't wait to show you our costumes for this year, but they have to stay a secret just a little longer!!

This is our first Halloween with Kevin.  We of course bought him a costume to go along with our theme!!  I bought him another costume the other day to see how well he would handle being dressed up.  He was not as easy to keep clothed as Sammy was!!  Here is Kevin in the costume.  It's hard to tell, but he is wiggling constantly and eating the costume!!

Sammy was usually much better with keeping her clothes on!!  It must be a girl thing!!  This was our theme back in 2012.

Do you have pets that you dress up for Halloween??  I have seen not only dogs, but cats, bunnies, and even a lizard get dressed up before!!

Milk Bone has come up with a great list of Halloween stats about how pet parents and their furry friends celebrate the holiday.  Can you relate??

Although Halloween has usually been considered a children's holiday, these days increasing numbers of "furry kids" are getting in on the fun.

Big Heart Pet Brands (the makers of Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni, Canine Carry Outs and Milo's Kitchen) conducted an original survey of 3,000 dog parents nationwide to find the top 25 states that most like to include their pups, the nation's most popular "Doggy Halloween Tricks," and each breed's favorite special treats -- right in time for the spooky-fun holiday.

Fun Halloween Stats:

*** PET PARENTS LOVE TO INCLUDE THEIR DOGS ON HALLOWEEN ***

44% of NY pet parents have dressed their dog in costume versus 28% of California pet parents
38% of NY pet parents have greeted trick-or-treaters with their dog while 18% of pet parents in California have
18% of Texas pet parents have given their dog extra treats for Halloween and 16% have taken their dog trick-or-treating.

*** DIFFERENT TREATS FOR DIFFERENT BREEDS ***

Big dogs like Dobermans and Great Danes prefer "real meat treats", while most small ones (Pomeranians and Pugs) choose "soft and chewy" snacks - like Pup-Peroni
Soft and chewy treats are also the all-time favorites of terriers (58%), and toy dogs (59%)
Biscuits and crunchy treats (like Milk-Bone) are the clear favorites of hounds (53%), herding dogs (56%), and sporting dogs (57%)

*** MILO KITCHEN'S HALLOWEEN "DOGGY TRICKS TOP 10 RANKING" ***

Because dogs are the ultimate tricksters, Milo's Kitchen brand dog treats wanted to uncover, for the first time, which tricks dogs are best able to perform. The nation's most popular doggy tricks are:

#1: Sit (77% of dogs can do this on command)
#2: Shake paws (58%)
#3: Lay down (57%)
#4: Stay (50%)
#5: Give a kiss (44%)
#6: Beg (31%)
#7: Roll over (27%)
#8: Speak or bark (26%)
#9: Spin (14%)
#10: Play dead (10%)

Morris The Cat Gives Great Advice!! #MorrisFeeds

Move over, Dear Abby... 9Lives' Morris the Cat is here to reveal advice on the issues you really care about, like yarn unspooling, feather chasing, and more.
A bona fide celebricat since he began doing commercials in the 1970s, America’s favorite ‘charmingly choosy’ feline has launched a “Dear Morris” column to help cats and humans alike make the most out of playtime. What’s more, Morris is also giving Sarah's Blog of Fun readers the chance to win a one-of-a-kind, customized 9Lives bean bag toss game at his website: http://prospurr.9lives.com/.

From Morris’ Mailbox:

Dear Morris,
I’ll be the first one to tell you I’m a playful guy. I like yarn, stuffed mice, boxes… you name it. But my human is never in the mood. Something about ‘work’ or ‘being tired,’ blah, blah, blah… meow, meow, meow. I try to tell her that a piece of string doesn’t wiggle itself! Alas, since my human will not play with me, I’ve taken to reading Proust… and trying to catch my own tail.
Sincerely,
Furry and Frustrated
Dear Furry and Frustrated,
I’ve seen your case all too many times. Humans are often tempted to blame their unplayful attitude on ‘being too busy,’ but that’s rarely true. (Even the president plays golf!) What many humans don’t realize is that we cats don’t require a long, drawn-out play period. We like small bouts of play interspersed with two of our other favorite activities, resting and napping. So gently remind your human with a head-boop or a soft meow that you’re ready for some action—she can start off slow with Level 1 of my “Official Guide to Amusement, Entertainment, Playtime & More”(http://prospurr.9lives.com/). Also, tell your human to be on the lookout for when your tail is in an inverted “U” shape (like in the photo below). That’s a tell-tail sign (get it?!) that she should bring out the toys. Remember, fun is contagious... once your human sees what a blast you're having, she'll likely take some more time to enjoy herself as well.
Yours truly,
Morris the Cat
Dear Morris,
I recently went to the pet store and came back with tons of new toys for my cat, Marvin. I was so excited to share some quality playtime with him that I could hardly wait for him to eat dinner! After he finished his 9Lives Plus Care (he’s a huge fan, by the way), I started waving his new toys around, but he just stared at me blankly—I got zip, zero, zilch! Morris, where did I go wrong? Does Marvin not like playing… or worse, does he not like me??
Thank you,
Confused in the Catskills
Dear Confused in the Catskills,
You’ve got nothing to worry about. I’m sure Marvin loves playing and I know he loves you. This was merely an instance of poor timing. You see, cats are often reluctant to play after mealtime. No one wants to jump around on a full stomach... even if you’re eating healthy with 9Lives Plus Care! The best time to play with Marvin is after he’s had a nice, long nap, and if he loves napping as much as I do, you’ll have many opportunities! And remember to make time for fun human games as well, like checkers, cards—or my personal favorite—cat's cradle. The two of you will have mastered Level 5 of my “Official Guide” in no time.
Yours truly,
Morris the Cat
Dear Morris,
I’ve always considered myself a “cat’s cat.” I’m a champion napper, an expert invisible bug chaser, and my hairballs? I can cough one so big you could use it as a toupee. That’s why I’m so distressed by what I’m about to tell you: I’ve never once caught that feather that dangles on the end of a stick. I see it, I lunge for it, and just when I think it’s within paw’s reach, it darts away again. It frankly has me questioning my cathood. What should I do?
Warmly,
Purr-plexed and Paw-ndering
Dear Purr-plexed and Paw-ndering,
It’s not your fault you haven’t caught the feather. What I’m about to say may come as a shock… there is a human on the other end of that feather, manipulating it like a marionette. It’s a conspiracy of gigantic proportions. You’ve never caught the feather because your human has never let you. If any of you humans out there are reading, please let your four-legged friends ‘win’ some of the time. It's great to have a competitive streak playing a board game or on the ball court, but let us felines experience the sweet taste of victory (it actually tastes a lot like 9Lives). Besides, catching the feather, ball, or string will get your cat one step closer to their ultimate goal: world domination.
Yours truly,
Morris the Cat
For more Morris tips, including his “Official Guide to Amusement, Entertainment, Playtime & More,” go to http://prospurr.9lives.com/. And, if you tweet #MorrisFeeds, Morris will donate a bowl of delicious 9Lives cat food to a hungry kitty at the ASPCA.
