Vehicle Overturns On Route 209 In Ulster County


Kerhonksin - Several Emergencu services including Catskill Hatzolah responded Friday to the scene of an overturned vehicle at Route 209 and Kerhonksin road.

Arriving units requested Paramedics to respond, the the victim was trasported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

DHS of NYS, Jerome M. Hauer, Met With Law Enforcement IN Ulster County


In preparation for the summer season, the commissioner of the Division of Homeland Security of New York State, Jerome M. Hauer, met with the Sheriffs, New York State Police Commanders, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Local Police Chiefs and first responders of the Delaware, Duchess, Sullivan, and Ulster counties.

The meeting, hosted at the Ulster County Sheriff's Office at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center, served as a medium to discuss pertinent safety and security issues related to the populace influx including vacationers and summer campers.

Ulster County Sheriff Struck By Vehicle


Saugerties – Police don’t know why a 60-year-old Saugerties man, who was driving a Honda FIT southbound on Route 9W in Saugerties, ran off the road Monday afternoon and struck a pickup truck parked off the road on a field. 

Ulster County Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum, who owns the pickup and had been mowing the field, was standing by his vehicle when the driver, identified as Robert Michaue, struck it, pushing his truck into the sheriff, throwing him to the ground.
