'Avatar Bending' Lens Now Available on Snapchat
Ever since Netflix re-added Avatar: The Last Airbender to its programming library in May, the buzz surrounding Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series has intensified, so there is no surprise that there is a Snapchat lens for it as well!
Snapchat filters and lenses range from dog faces to FaceTiming the former President Barack Obama, and everything in-between. The first geofilters were introduced on the app in August 2014, and were shortly followed by the face filters in January of 2015. In 2018, Snapchat upped the ante again when the service added a feature that allows users to create their own. Whereas lenses were once on a limited rotation for users, they can now press the explore magnifying glass and search through thousands of lenses at anytime.
The lens is called "Avatar Bending" and cycles through the types of bending from the series, but with a twist. Alongside water, fire, earth, air, and blood, is now the option of back bending. Users simply need to put their face on screen and open their mouth to find out what kind of bender they are.

Snap Inc. Announces Nickelodeon Super Brawl Universe Bitmoji Game

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--Snap Inc. (NYSE:SNAP) today announced new developer products and partnerships across the Snap Kit, Snap Games and Bitmoji ecosystems. Snap also introduced Snap Minis, a new way for developers to bring experiences inside Snapchat while leveraging the social power of the platform.
Snap Kit and Snap Games offer developers new ways to easily build with Snapchat. More than 800 apps have integrated with Snap Kit, and nearly 150 million Snapchatters are engaging with these integrations every month. Since its launch in April 2019, more than 100 million Snapchatters have played Snap Games. Snap Minis, a new developer product, are built on the same core principles and technologies as Snap Games.
These new developer products and partner integrations will launch throughout 2020:
Snap Minis
Snap Minis are a new way for developers to bring HTML5 experiences inside Snapchat on Android and iOS. Minis are designed to deeply integrate within conversations on Snapchat, so coordinating between friends is faster than ever.
- Coachella - At the next Coachella, coordinate and plan your festival lineup with your friends.
- Headspace - With the Headspace Mini, Snapchatters can kickback with quick meditations and send encouraging messages to boost friends in need.
- Let’s Do It (Snap Inc.) - When you and your friends need to make a decision as a group, Let’s Do It helps pick your next move.
- Movie Tickets by Atom- Choose a show time at a local theater, select the best seats together, and individually pay for tickets to see the show. Stream the latest movie trailers and share them with friends.
- Prediction Master - From Mammoth Media, Prediction Master serves timely questions on everything from the Stock Market to sneaker drops, so Snapchatters can see which of their friends is the true psychic.
- Saturn - The Saturn Mini helps students share and compare their class schedules.
- Tembo - Create flashcard decks with friends on Snapchat, to help cram for your next exam.

Camera Kit invites developers to leverage Snap’s eight year investment in the Snapchat camera, bringing Snapchat’s AR capabilities and camera engagement to enrich the experiences on their own apps. Through Camera Kit, Lenses built using Lens Studio can now live on their app and on Snapchat:
- MLB Ballpark app - Baseball fans will be able to interact with their favorite teams and mascots in AR, and celebrate home runs together - at the game, and at home.
- Nike - Nike is exploring Camera Kit to bring Snapchat Lenses to their new wellness app to enable video responses and duets with creators.
- Squad - Through Camera Kit, Squad users will be able to add fun Snapchat lenses while they browse, chat, shop, and watch videos together.
- Triller - Through Triller’s Camera Kit integration, their community will be able to interact with special Snapchat Lenses inspired by artists and songs.
Dynamic Lenses
An expansion of Creative Kit, Dynamic Lenses enable developers to bring real-time information from their app into Snapchat Lenses, making it easy for any company to build custom AR experiences for their communities. Snap Games
Snap Games was introduced as a new way for friends to play games on mobile, featuring first and third-party games. In Snap’s own title, Bitmoji Party, an average of 20 minutes are played per player every day. Snapchat Transforms Popular SpongeBob SquarePants Memes Into Snapshot Filters
Beginning this week, fans can meme themselves as SpongeBob SquarePants on Snapchat, thanks to a series of new filters that allow users to place themselves inside of some of the most famous internet memes based on the long-running animated series. The SpongeBob SquarePants memes (many of the same ones currently available as Masterpiece Memes toys at retailers around the world) are available to Snapchat users in the United States through December 22. Some Snapchat users will automatically see the SpongeBob SquarePants icon among the selection of lenses, while others can scan a special Snapcode to access the lenses. For the first time ever, anyone can meme themselves on Snapchat as SpongeBob SquarePants and his Bikini Bottom friends. The exclusively designed lenses are available on Snapchat for a limited time only and feature the most popular characters and iconic meme moments from Nickelodeon’s hit animated series, including Imaginaaation SpongeBob, Surprised Patrick, Handsome Squidward and SpongeGar.
SpongeBob SquarePants’ memes are part of the Internet lexicon, and now fans can craft and share their own personalized versions of: being overly happy like Imaginaaation SpongeBob, being shocked like Surprised Patrick or showing both sides of themselves as Public Account vs. Private Account through Handsome Squidward and SpongeGar.

First-Look At Nickelodeon's "Bunsen is a Beast!"; Brand-New Animated Series To Premiere In 2017
Bunsen is a Beast! (20 episodes) follows two unlikely friends attending grade school. On his first day at a human-grade school, Bunsen befriends a classmate named Mikey, who over time guides Bunsen through the ups and downs of life as a human. On the flipside, Bunsen introduces Mikey to the wild and whacky world of monsters which, as it turns out, is a lot more fun than scary! No matter what the stakes, Bunsen and Mikey will always have each other's backs. The original animated comedy is created and executive produced by Butch Hartman.
As part of Nickelodeon's "Happy Happy Joy Joy: 25 Years of Creator-Driven Animation" exhibition, Nickelodeon has revealed that Nick USA will start to premiere and show Bunsen is a Beast! in 2017!

Little Ballers explores the journey of four 11-year-old basketball players and their quest to win an AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) championship. The two-hour sports documentary is executive produced by NBA player Amar'e Stoudemire and rapper Lupe Fiasco, and directed by Crystal McCrary. Little Ballers was the first original documentary to join NickSports, a lineup of sports-themed content including series, specials and documentaries from professional leagues and key athletes.
Little Ballers 2 is expected to follow a group of young female basketball players on their quest to win a championship.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Viacom (NASDAQ:VIAB, VIA) and Snapchat today announced an unprecedented global partnership that capitalizes on and extends the unique expertise of both companies to creatively and authentically speak to millennial and post-millennial audiences.
The wide-ranging deal, anchored in both content production and advertising sales, will bring two high profile channels to Snapchat Discover -- a Comedy Central International channel and an MTV Channel in the U.S., which will complement the already successful Comedy Central and MTV International Discover channels. The agreement also grants Viacom the right to sell Snapchat's U.S. owned and operated advertising inventory, allowing Viacom to offer even more value to television advertisers who want to add Snapchat's wildly popular premium video platform to the media mix. In addition, Viacom also has agreed to provide Snapchat with expanded access so Snapchat can produce Live Stories covering more of Viacom's tent pole events.
"Viacom and Snapchat naturally complement each other in significant ways that make us ideal partners in both content and business development," said Wade Davis, Chief Financial Officer, Viacom. "Snapchat captures young audiences on an intimate and immersive mobile video platform while Viacom is the leader in premium long- and short-form storytelling for these same audiences. Add in Viacom's custom marketing solutions and commitment to evolve our global mobile strategy and you've got a partnership that is great for both companies, for advertisers, and is a real evolution of the marketplace."
In addition to selling its advertising alongside its own content on Snapchat Discover, Viacom will now also have the right to sell Snapchat's U.S. owned and operated ad inventory, which includes ads in ongoing Stories such as "New York," capturing daily happenings in New York City, and non-partnered holiday Live Stories, such as "Valentine's Day." Viacom is the only television company to have this arrangement with Snapchat.
"Snapchat provides the best storytelling experience on mobile. Through this partnership with Viacom, we can now offer television advertisers a way to tell their stories across television and mobile in a frictionless way," said Imran Khan, Snapchat's Chief Strategy Officer.
On the content side of the deal, Viacom will further invest in the creation of original premium video content specifically for Snapchat Discover, reinforcing Viacom's innovative approach and dedication to delivering fans globally the content they want wherever they want to consume it. While MTV International and Comedy Central have previously been committed to creating original content on Discover, additional resources will now be put towards the launch of an MTV US Channel and a Comedy Central International channel on the platform.
MTV's new Snapchat Discover channel will feature a wide range of content created exclusively for the platform and updated daily. At launch on Tuesday, February 9, this includes MTV News articles and video with design and art direction unique to Snapchat, exclusive celebrity interviews, and more. MTV is also developing additional Snapchat-native content, including brand-new original series and reinvented MTV fan-favorite franchises for the platform. More details on original programming will be announced at a later date.
Comedy Central will launch internationally on Snapchat Discover on Wednesday, February 10, delivering always funny content to fans globally. The new international channel will serve Snapchat users daily doses of comedy, from curated "WTF News" articles and exclusive videos with their favorite comedians to upcoming original series set to debut on Snapchat Discover in the coming year. Since its U.S. launch in January 2015, the Comedy Central channel on Snapchat Discover has become a vibrant pipeline for Comedy Central to develop fresh comedic voices and original content. It is one of the most popular brands on the platform.
Another key element of the Viacom/Snapchat partnership will leverage Snapchat's Live Stories, which are curated collections of user-submitted content covering major events and places around the world. Through the partnership, Snapchat will have unique access to cover Viacom's one-of-a-kind, tentpole events, such as MTV's Video Music Awards (VMAs), BET Experience, and MTV's EMAs.
The deal grew organically out of a dynamic Viacom/Snapchat relationship, including many custom advertising campaigns created by in-house creative agency Viacom Velocity that ran in Snapchat Discover, as well as "break-the-internet" level of fan engagement for Viacom events covered by Snapchat Live Stories and Snapchat Discover channels launched a year ago.
