Victoria Justice Reveals That She is Down for a 'Zoey 101' Reboot After Cast Reunion

Victoria Justice has revealed that she is here for a Zoey 101 reboot following a fun reunion she had with her castmates — minus Jamie Lynn Spears — on July 29! The actor played Lola Martinez on the hit Nickelodeon show, which ran from 2005 to 2008.

The 26-year-old Victorious, Fun Size and Eye Candy star noted to Life & Style that “no one has approached me about a Zoey 101 reboot,” but she gave a resounding “Yeah!” when asked if she’d be interested in revamping the famed teen show. There were rumors circulating in July that Jamie Lynn was in talks about reprising her role 10 years later. Hmmm … it looks like the ball could be rolling.

Zoey 101 Reunion

“It was a lot of fun. It was great getting back together,” Victoria added about their mini-reunion while discussing her partnership with Mars, Inc. to promote its #PledgeforPlanet initiative, which aims to accelerate climate action. “It really just brought back old times and so many great memories. I just remember sitting there and looking at everyone’s faces and just feeling like no one had really changed. Like, things had obviously changed but we were still like at our core the same people and it just felt so comfortable and so familiar, so that was a really nice feeling. It was really fun.” The starlet noted that Jamie Lynn didn’t attend because she was “filming in Atlanta.”

Despite most of the castmates being spread all over the country, the Victorious actor acknowledged that she has “stayed in touch with everyone.” She explained, “Erin Sanders, who played Quinn on the show, we were really close when we were doing the show and she’s also in L.A. She’s now a yoga instructor and I’ve taken classes from her. So, we definitely reconnected.”

All in all, Victoria has a soft spot in her heart for the great memories they all made on set. “They’re all great, though. I feel really lucky to have had that experience in my life and to form those friendships. It was just a really special time in my life that I’ll always remember and I’ll always be grateful for,” she gushed.

Fingers crossed for that reboot/revival!

From Life & Style:

Victoria Justice Gushes Over Former Costar Jamie Lynn Spears: ‘She’s Killing It’

We stan women supporting other women! When Victoria Justice was asked about former Zoey 101 costar Jamie Lynn Spears, she had nothing but nice things to say. Despite the fact that it’s been years since they worked together, the Victorious alum, 26, is still cheering the 28-year-old on from afar.

“It’s great!” Victoria exclusively told Life & Style at the Mars, Incorporated’s #PledgeforPlanet event in regard to Jamie’s career and mom life. “I mean she’s killing it. I’m so happy for her. She seems like she’s so happy and she’s a great mom and yeah, I’m just really happy for her.”

In case you missed it, the cast of Zoey 101 had a mini reunion in June, bringing fans back to the good old PCA days. Unfortunately, Zoey herself missed the get-together due to work. “She didn’t [go] because she is currently filming in Atlanta so she wasn’t able to make it out unfortunately,” Victoria said.

Though Jamie was unable to physically be with her former castmates, she made sure to give them a sweet shout-out when she shared a video they sent her. “Not only did I miss the reunion, but I also missed the FaceTime, because I’m lame and fell asleep … thank y’all for the video and hope to see y’all very soon,” she captioned the Instagram post shared on July 30.

The clip included Victoria, Matthew Underwood, Sean Flynn, Paul Butcher, Christopher Massey, Erin Sanders and Abby Wilde greeting the actress in sync. “Hi Jamie! We miss you. We wish you could be here and we hope to see you soon,” they said collectively.

“It was a lot of fun. It was great getting back together,” Victoria told Life & Style about their reunion. “It really just brought back old times and so many great memories. I just remember sitting there and looking at everyone’s faces and just feeling like no one had really changed. Like, things had obviously changed but we were still like at our core the same people and it just felt so comfortable and so familiar, so that was a really nice feeling. It was really fun.” The former Nickelodeon star also added that she would be so down for a reboot. We’re not ready!

Nick Stars at the Fun Size Premiere!

Victoria Justice's new flick might be named Fun Size, but judging by all the awesome arrivals at its mega Hollywood premiere, the only thing that's miniature about this movie is the title! Tons of stars ushered on to the Orange Carpet last night to celebrate the release of Victoria's hilarious new comedy. And we were there to catch all of their best paparazzi poses.

First off, we've gotta give super props to the leading lady of the night! Victoria showed up in an adorable yellow dress, looking gorgeous and ready to mingle with her friends, cast mates and news crews about her major movie role!

And of course her Victorious fam [family] was there to support! We spotted Matt Bennett hamming it up for the cameras.

We saw Leon Thomas striking a pose.

And we caught Daniella Monet showing off her pearly whites (and a fashion forward getup).

Lucas Cruikshank gave his fans a little smile before heading in to catch a sneak peek of the flick.

Gracie Dzienny came ready for the occasion, donning a girly dress and a leather jacket, perfect for fall!

Gracie's fellow Supah Ninja Ryan Potter joined the crowd of celebrity arrivals.

And even iCarly star Nathan Kress made a cameo appearance!

This premiere was so jam-packed with celebs we were nearly blinded by flashing lights! But one thing's for sure...this movie is gonna rock!

> 'Fun Size' Victoria Justice interview: I want to be Cher for Halloween "I'm so excited about it, I've been talking about this for a while, I've just really been taking my time," she said. "I want to be 100 per cent involved in the creative process - I want to write my own songs, I just need to set aside some time but I will towards the end of this year, beginning of next year. It will probably be released next year."
Asked what genre her album would fall into, Justice added: "It's going to be classified as pop, but I'm not exactly sure yet. "I love organic soul music and I love dance music so I have to find exactly what lane I want to go down. I'm definitely going to be writing all of it." Justice added that she is ready to explore new career opportunities after her Nickelodeon show Victorious wasn't picked up for a fourth series. "I thought for sure we'd get picked up for another season, we're like the number one show on the network," she said. "I just found out wrapping season 3 that we were nominated for three Emmys, so of course I thought we were coming back. I'm obviously so grateful for the experience I had on the show, it's opened up so many doors for me but I'm ready to move on." Why Nickelodeon Is Releasing Its First PG-13 Movie

From The Hollywood Reporter:
Why Nickelodeon Is Releasing Its First PG-13 Film

The Oct. 26 opening of Josh Schwartz-directed "Fun Size" is the culmination of a seven-year makeover for the Paramount label.

Underage drinking and a giant robotic chicken [...]? Move over, Rugrats, Nickelodeon Movies is all grown up.

The Paramount label once associated with G-rated kiddie fare like Charlotte's Web is releasing its first PG-13 film Oct. 26 with the Josh Schwartz-helmed teen comedy Fun Size.

VIDEO: Jane Levy and Victoria Justice in 'Fun Size' Trailer

The move marks the culmination of the label's seven-year makeover. “We have been looking to define Nickelodeon movies as something not just for children but for everyone, including children,” says Paramount vice chair Rob Moore. “In the past, there wasn’t much breadth in the target audience.”

Moore cites recent Nick movies releases The Last Airbender, Rango and The Adventures of Tintin — all PG films that earned a combined $939 million worldwide.

STORY: Josh Schwartz to Direct 'Fun Size'

Still, there’s a limit to how adult the label will skew.

“I think the way I originally wrote it, it would have been R mainly because of language and innuendo,” says Max Werner of his Black List screenplay, which marks Schwartz (Gossip Girl) and Fake Empire partner Stephanie Savage's first movie after they inked a first-look deal with Paramount. “But the studio always wanted it to come in at PG-13.”

Quips Schwartz, “If it’s too watered down, it’s for nobody."
Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures will be releasing the brand new Nickelodeon Movie "Fun Size", in which Victoria Justice has a lead role in, in the UK on Monday 29th October 2012, for the October 2012 school half-term holidays in the UK, and just in time for Halloween.

Also, from Screen International's ScreenDaily:
Fun Size

Dir: Josh Schwartz. US. 2012. 87mins

With Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice heading the ensemble cast, Halloween-themed family comedy Fun Size mixes a perky tone with some mildly risqué humour aimed at the older end of the tween-teen spectrum. While the tone might put off more cynical teens, in the US at least the popularity of Justice and her hit cable sitcom Victorious could lead to a decent (or better) theatrical performance and a strong video showing for this Nickelodeon Movies production.
The comedy ranges from basic slapstick to pretty innocuous verbal and visual gags.
Launching the film this week in North America, worldwide distributor Paramount will be able to leverage the theme during Halloween festivities, though the PG-13 rating (Nickelodeon offerings usually get a straight PG) might be a limiting factor. An October 29 opening in the UK should have a similar effect while performances in other international markets will probably vary according to the local popularity of Victorious and its star.

Justice's Wren is a smart and pretty Cleveland high schooler whose Halloween plans centre on going to the coolest party in town with status-obsessed friend April (Jane Levy, from the US version of Shameless). When the odd-acting kid brother she’s supposed to be babysitting sneaks off, Wren has to spend most of the night tracking him down. In the process she gets to measure the romantic attentions of the party host against those of a nerdy nice guy (Project X's Thomas Mann).

First time feature director Josh Schwartz (whose TV writer-producer credits include Gossip Girl and The OC) gives the film a sitcom feel and an episodic structure - other characters who get turns at the centre of the action include Wren’s widowed and slightly flaky mother (played by TV host Chelsea Handler) and a crazed wrestler (an uncredited Johnny Knoxville).

The comedy ranges from basic slapstick to pretty innocuous verbal and visual gags about [...] (plus a couple of awkward jokes about out-of-place adults).

The proceedings end with a more serious sequence in which Wren, her brother and their mother meet after the parties are over and get back on terms as a fatherless but affectionate family.

Main cast: Victoria Justice, Thomas Mann, Jane Levy, Thomas McDonell, Thomas Middleditch, Chelsea Handler
Also, from The Huffington Post:
Fun Size was an interesting experiment, a Nickelodeon funded kids comedy set on Halloween to serve as an antidote to the likes of Paranormal Activity 4 (down 70% in weekend two for an $8.6 million second weekend and a ten day total of $42 million but a worldwide total of $91 million) and Sinister ($39 million in 17 days). Alas the film ended up with a PG-13. Hence it was considered too adult for kids but too kid-friendly for older audiences. Without any big stars on the poster (sorry Victoria Justice), the film fizzled with just $4 million (the 64th worst wide-release opening of all time). The Curtis Hanson/Michael Apted surfing melodrama Chasing Mavericks earned just $2.2 million (the ninth-worst wide release opening of all-time), proving that Gerald Butler is only a star with a strong opener when paired with the likes of Jennifer Aniston or Jamie Foxx.
Also, from HitFix.com:
Also opening on Friday was Nickelodeon Films and Paramount Pictures' "Fun Size." The PG-13 comedy starring tween star Victoria Justice grossed just $1.3 million for what could be a $4 million weekend. "Fun" didn't cost much, but it's still a loss for the Viacom divisions. It's also a sign of just how weak the Nickelodeon network is as a promotional launch platform these days.
Also, from Variety:
"Fun Size" garnered a B appraisal and earned the majority of its opening from families and teenage girls. The pic, from TV's "Gossip Girl" co-creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, toplines Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice.
