Notice

--Was brought to my jail, Sept. 7th, 1863 a negro man named George Washington, say be belongs to Joseph Bryant, of Bosher Parish. Louisiana, and was hired in the army to cook for Burred McKinney, of the 9th Louisiana regiment, and was captured by the Yankees with our wagon trams in Pennsylvania, and made his escape near Fredericksburg and swain the river, and says that Col. Hodges, of the 9th Louisiana regiment, is acquainted with him. Said negro if of a black complexion and about 23 years old, is 5 feet 10 inches high, and smartly knock knee !. The owner will come forward, pay expenses, and take him away.
