Norfolk, March 9.
--The Erricson iron battery appeared in the Roads this morning, and had a fierce engagement with the Virginia, which lasted four hours. The latter ran into the Erricson, damaging her considerably. The Virginia fired a shot through her. A large tug-boat, in attempting to get the Minnesota off, blew up. It is supposed that the Minnesota is so much damaged that she can not float, and will be a total loss. A large portion of her stern works have been shot away.
