Important arrest.

--Wm. T. Smithson, the banker and broker, arrested here yesterday afternoon by order of the Government, on suspicion of communicating with the reliefs, left in the same afternoon train for Fort Lafayette. This is considered one of the most important arrests that has taken place since the commencement of the rebellion.
