A family of Volunteers.

--The Georgia and South Carolina papers are giving lists of whole families of volunteers for the war; but, in our opinion, our own district, and our neighboring county of Hancock, is not behind any of them. Our friend Col. J. F. H. Claiborne, of Bay St. Louis, has an only son, Maj. Willis H. Claiborne, and eleven nephews in the field, viz: Willis H. Claiborne, Natchez Troop Fairfax C. H.; W. A. McPheters, Natchez Troop, Fairfax C. H.; H. A. Garrett, Natchez Troop, Fairfax C. H.; Willie Dunbar, Natchez Troop, Fairfax C. H.; Robt. Field, Natchez Troop, Fairfax C. H.; George Claiborne, Marigny's Regiment, Yorktown; F. O. Claiborne, Crescent Rifles, Yorktown; Frank Claiborne, Crescent Rifles, Yorktown; Arthur Claiborne, Chasseurs, Western Virginia; Junins Claiborne, Privateer Jeff. Davis; Henry Claiborne, late Midshipman, U. S. Navy, imprisoned at Fort Lafayette, N. Y., for resigning his commission; Capt. G. D. McPheters, Crescent Rifles, New Orleans.

These are all natives of Mississippi and Louisiana. We have besides a list of twenty-two of the same family in the Virginia, Tennessee, and Missouri volunteers.--Handsboro' (Miss.) Democrat.
