Good order.
--In contrast with the brutal and insulting demeanor of the mercenaries of the North in Washington city, where ladies are insulted and unoffending citizens maltreated, we take pride in noting the good order which prevails in our city, notwithstanding the large numbers of soldiery quartered here and daily parading our streets. Not a single instance of misdemeanor has taken place, and the utmost good order prevails.--This is easily accounted for, when we consider the difference of material. Our soldiers are gentlemen; the Northern hirelings are, with very few exceptions, the refuse of the community from which they came, and the word "decency" is not to be found in their vocabulary.
