Literary.
--In the Georgia Convention a resolution has been adopted, requesting the Governor to offer a reward of $500 each for the following works, to be written or compiled by citizens resident in the Confederate States of America--viz: A spelling book for the use of common schools, an arithmetic, an English grammar, a geography, and two reading books, one for beginners and one for more advanced scholars; the prize to be awarded by a committee appointed by the Governor, and the books selected to be published and printed within the Confederacy, and the copyright to be owned or disposed of by the authors or compilers of the several works.
