A lady set on fire in a very singular manner.

--On Friday evening, a lady entered a store in Second street, New York, for the purpose of making purchases, when she accidentally trod upon a match which ignited, and the flames communicated to her under garments. The lady did not perceive that her clothing was on fire, supposing that the warmth proceeded from the register, until some persons in the rear of the store discovered the fact, rushed to her assistance and extinguished the flames. She was but slightly injured, but upon her removal to her home was attacked with hysterical fits of so severe a nature that fears were entertained of her recovery.
