--An extravagant Marchioness was lately assailed by a number of Paris tradesmen for payment of $60,000 debts. The husband proved in court that he allowed her $6,000 a year, and that only five years ago he paid $120,000 of her debts. The wife replied that she brought him $1,000,000 dowry. Among the items were sheets of $500 a pair, and an expenditure of $400 for pistols, powder, balls and caps. This charge decided the court to non-suit the creditors.
