General lane's staff.--Champion Vaughan will be on Gen. Lane's staff, with the rank of Colonel. He is a South-Carolinian, but for many years a noted antislavery man. When Lane was confirmed a Brigadier-General by the Senate, the other day, Vaughan sent a despatch to Leavenworth in these words: “Lane is confirmed. Glory to God! Let the rebels hunt their holes!”
