ἐτοιχωρύχησαν ‘How they acted like burglars in the matter of this loan.’ A strong and invidious expression, like θηρίοις above. Cf. Or. 54 (Conon) § 37 and Or. 45 § 30 κακουργῆσαι καὶ διορύξαι πράγματα. See p. 58 a.
