Canadian Crafty Queens

It's Saturday morning and another episode of Craft Roulette is in the books!  This time I actually was part of the fun along with Sandy Boone and Candice Richardson.

The parameters for episode #68 are as follows:

  • Project:  Card with a Flap
  • Colors: Blue plus 2 Colors
  • Element:  A Cup or Glass
  • Random: Blending

Pretty basic parameters this week.

So I started by grabbing one of my own stamp sets from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called "Tiny Tea Party" which has a tea cup image in it.

I chose the vintage Mintay patterned papers, "7th Heaven" 6x6 papers to use so I pulled my colour palette from that; blue, pink, green.

You can still play along with episode #68.  You have 48 hours from the time the show ends to submit your card.  Watch the YouTube Video HERE and play along. To submit your card, click HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tic Tac Toe!

Happy Saturday everyone! Welcome to another fun Saturday Challenge with Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

This week is actually MY turn to challenge you!  This week’s challenge is a Tic Tac Toe challenge.  You know the rules… make a creation using one of the horizontal, diagonal, up or down lines!

I needed to make one more Halloween card for a family member so I grabbed the “I Want Candy”, Caroling Cuties” and the “Scaredy Cats” stamp sets and stamped and masked  and created a scene.  I also use our new Brick Wall Stencil as well!  I used the "Orange, Enamel Dots, Patterned Paper" line for my card.

I wanted my two little trick-or-treators to be walking along the sidewalk getting ready to knock on a door so that’s the scene I created.  I coloured everything in the scene using Copic Markers and KKS inks for the stenciling.

Don’t forget to play along with all the other fun challenges going on over at the Krafty Friends Facebook page too.  All the challenges have been extended so you can playing along with everything until October 31st!

Plus... here's the current monthly sketch that you might want to use for one of your squares for this challenge.

Don't forget to take advantage of the Frugal Friday sales too!  Lots of great stamps sets on sale this weekend!

Have a great weekend!  Hope you are able to get krafty!

World Card Making Day with Power Poppy!

Happy World Card Making Day everyone!  Let’s start they day off with a fun challenge from Power Poppy!

Today’s WCMD challenge is to create a card that we LOVE to send!  Me…. I think my all time favourite cards to send out are Christmas cards.  Yes… I know it’s only October but Alberta is already celebrating winter… we received 5 inches of snow the other day!  Craziness right?!?!

So I chose to make a few brand new Christmas cards to share with you today.

First off, I chose to make a relatively easy card first featuring the sweet little chickadee image from the “Tweet Tidings” stamp set released last year.
I kept the design simple.  I think this card would be very easily repeatable if you love to make multiples to send out of your cards.

Next I went a wee bit more complicated with a fun interactive sentiment card.  I used the Lawn Fawn’s new Reveal Wheel die to create this little fella. On the front I have that adorable little snowman from the “Snow Kissed” stamp set.
If you turn the little wheel peeking out on the right hand side, you reveal a total of 4 different sentiments!  The sentiments are from “Merry Littles” and “Bottlebrush Holiday”.  So super cute!

And lastly, I went even more interactive and made a Double Slider card.  This unsuspectingly little square features the little images of the “Cozy Cupfuls” stamp collection.

When you pull on the two tab openings, you reveal even more images and fun sentiments!  I just love playing with cards like these.

In addition to sharing some fun cards today, we also have a great Power Poppy Shop COUPON to share.

Now…
Christine Okken – go here!

Thanks for joining us today!  Happy creating!

Rainbow Bunny Wishes

Happy Saturday everyone!  I’m out with my Scouts today doing our highway clean up day here.  I hope you’re doing great and creating thing fun for National Scrapbooking Day today!

I needed to create a birthday card for one my fellow Scouter friends.  Her birthday is coming up next week so I wanted to get it in the mail this week.

I chose to place along and incorporate the newest Honey Bee StampsBuzzworthy Challenge #5”…
I just love the rainbow of colors!

I used the box from the “Celebration Box”, one of the bunnies from the “Blah Humbunny” and a sentiment from “Swimming By” set to finish off the card. I also made a matching envelope for my birthday girl.

Here’s the list of Copic Markers I used.  I used the same bunny colors to shade my shadows.

Thanks for dropping by!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Critter Birthday Hooray!

I have a few birthdays coming up in the next few weeks so I thought I’d better get my act in gear and get my cards finished and in the mail.

Today I’m playing along with the SugarPea Designs “Mix It Up Challenge”.  I was inspired by the sketch in Challenge #29:

For my card I wanted to feature the critters from the “Everyday is Christmas” stamp set.  And that fabulous little froggy is popped up on a mini Action Wobble to make him do a jig!  LOL!

Copic Markers: YG00, YG01, YG03, YG17, BG000, C4, C5, C7, R17, R29, E50, E51, E53, E55, Y17

I also included a turtle in the inside of the card.
That fun sentiment and confetti is from the “Bring on the Cake” stamp set.

Don't forget to check out my current GIVEAWAY, right here!  Last week's prize still hasn't been claimed.  The silly thing is, is that the winner commented on the post but never really read it and didn't realize she was the winner.  If she doesn't claim her prize before Friday, this week's winner will win BOTH stamp sets!  Hooray!  Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my card!

I've Gone Batty!

Hey gang!  I've finally gotten to take a few moments and stamp for myself today.  I am in a Halloween card swap over at StampNation this month so I wanted to get my card done and in the mail hopefully today.   Because I had all the stuff out on my desk, I decided to make 2 cards.

I was inspired today by the SugarPea Designs “Mix It Up Challenge #18”.  I chose to use both sides; I used the basic sketch design for both cards plus I chose to use the theme of Halloween from the image side of the challenge.

Here’s my first card today…
Copics: V000, V20, V22, V25, V17, R00, R01, R02

Here’s a quick peek of all the shimmery & shiny detail on this little critter…
Each one of my bats are attached with an Action Wobbler so they "fly" in their cloudy skies!  So cute!

And my second card today…
Copics: BG10, BG11, T0, T1, T3, T5, R00, R12, V20

I added the same shimmer to this card too…

Thanks for stopping by today.  Now to decide which one I’m going to send to my Halloween Sistah and which one I’ll send to family!  Touch decisions!
