Introducing... Let Your Heart Be Light

It’s Day 2 of our Happiest Holidays 2018 release for Power Poppy!

Today is all about our new “Let Your Heart Be Light”…

This set of gorgeous stamps features poinsettia-and-holly images that can be used as a two-step stamp with coordinating light beams, a single stamp, or as a pair of borders surrounding a sentiment. We've got 6 sentiments that fit nicely between the borders, several with a light or warmth theme.

I kept today’s card very simple with a focus on that beautiful candle & greenery image…

Now, take a moment and…

World Card Making Day with Power Poppy!

Happy World Card Making Day everyone!  Let’s start they day off with a fun challenge from Power Poppy!

Today’s WCMD challenge is to create a card that we LOVE to send!  Me…. I think my all time favourite cards to send out are Christmas cards.  Yes… I know it’s only October but Alberta is already celebrating winter… we received 5 inches of snow the other day!  Craziness right?!?!

So I chose to make a few brand new Christmas cards to share with you today.

First off, I chose to make a relatively easy card first featuring the sweet little chickadee image from the “Tweet Tidings” stamp set released last year.
I kept the design simple.  I think this card would be very easily repeatable if you love to make multiples to send out of your cards.

Next I went a wee bit more complicated with a fun interactive sentiment card.  I used the Lawn Fawn’s new Reveal Wheel die to create this little fella. On the front I have that adorable little snowman from the “Snow Kissed” stamp set.
If you turn the little wheel peeking out on the right hand side, you reveal a total of 4 different sentiments!  The sentiments are from “Merry Littles” and “Bottlebrush Holiday”.  So super cute!

And lastly, I went even more interactive and made a Double Slider card.  This unsuspectingly little square features the little images of the “Cozy Cupfuls” stamp collection.

When you pull on the two tab openings, you reveal even more images and fun sentiments!  I just love playing with cards like these.

In addition to sharing some fun cards today, we also have a great Power Poppy Shop COUPON to share.

Now…

Power Poppy: Introducing Burst of Kindness & Succulent Singles

Howdy and welcome to Day Two of the Power Poppy “Spring Fling” Collection reveal.

Today we have two brand new stamp sets to reveal…

Introducing… Burst of Kindness!
This stamp includes this gloriously ginormous bouquet of Spring florals and some buzzy friends.  It’ll fit perfectly in your stamp stash.

And secondly, introducing… Succulent Singles!
This awesome 12 image & sentiment stamp set collection will go great with our first Succulent stamp success, our Sassy Succulents stamp collection. This beautiful stamp also includes a coordinating die set – you can pre-order the dies on March 14th but save some money and buy the set as a stamp & die combination at a reduced price.  Woohoo!

So I have a card to share for each set today.  First off is the Burst of Kindness stamp collection.  I decided to spot light one of my favourite parts of the stamp set, this beautifully delicate butterfly out on one of the long sleek leaves of the bouquet.
Prismacolor Pencils: Cream, Goldenrod, Poppy Red, Crimson Red,
Carmine Red, Apple Green, Dark Green, Light Aqua, Sienna Brown, Dark Brown

I used some Prismacolor Colored Pencils to colour and highlight this little fella.

And for my second card creation using the awesome Succulent Singles collection, I decided to channel my inner blues…
Copic Markers: BG11, BG13, BG32, B95, B97

I really like the rustic but almost nautical feel to this card!

All of the stamp shown today go on sale on March 14th.  All dies will go on pre-order sale on March 14th as well.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Now come and check out what my fellow Bloom Brigaders have created for you to drool over!

Power Poppy: Celebrate the Season? Say What?

TGIF everyone!  I’m so happy to be back creating again. With 2 weeks off I really got my creative jive back and it feels good!

Ushering in a new month means that we have a brand new Power Poppy “Power & Spark” challenge.  This month it’s all about “fussy cutting”!
For details on this month’s challenge, click hereREMEMBER, you don’t need Power Poppy stamps to participate in the challenge so get creating and share with us over on the Power Poppy Blog.

For my card this week, I was just itching to use a holiday stamp.  I know… what was I thinking!!! We're trying to encourage warm weather to arrive not snow!!! Well sometimes you just have to go with the creative flow so that’s what I did.

On my card today, I’m featuring the gorgeous Christmas stamp set, “Poinsettia”.  I used 8, yup eight, different Ranger Distress Inks (listed below!) to water colour in my image and then fussy cut it out.  This poinsettia totally lends itself to big, bold, beautiful colour!  So that’s what I did!

As a finishing touch, I added some clear Wink of Stella pen to the poinsettia leaves, just like the ones you might find around Christmas time and a really simple sentiment from the “Bough Wow Wow” stamp set…

Introducing… Simply Camellias!

It’s Day 2 of our three day journey here at Power Poppy! Today we are revealing another gorgeous botanical beaut… introducing… Simply Camellias!
Today’s clear stamp will thrill and delight you.  There are 3 stunning Camellia images along with five more very useful sentiments.

I started off with the beautiful “Yesterday” paper collection from Carta Bella which has a kind of vintage feel to it.  So I die cut the curvy edges, layered them and added some machine stitching.  Then I added a few die cut banners.

To complete my card, I created a paper pieced Camellia bloom using some thick Olba Glue.  I love the dimension this flower has on my card…

Hoppy Easter Times 4!

Happy Hump Day everyone!  I have been having LOTS of fun playing with my new MISTI tool that I pre-ordered way back in November.  It finally arrived last week and I just had to pull it out and use it right away.

Today I’m featured FOUR cards… yup FOUR!  They are identical only in the design because I’m using the latest and greatest card sketch from Splitcoaststampers today, SC530.  It’s a really simple sketch and was perfect for mass producing a set of cards.

I’m featuring the sweet little set, “Honey Bunny” stamp set from Mama Elephant today on my Easter cards.  Here’s a quick glance at all four cards…

Each card is slightly different in how I “dressed” my bunnies and what papers I used.  For the first card, I used the top hat, oracle, cane, crown and heart stamps to adorn my cutie pies.

For #2, I used the top hat, oracle, crown, heart and bow tie…

For card #3, I used the mustache this time…

And for the final card, I used the tie on my little fella…

It’s also time over at StampNation for a brand new challenge!  And ALL four of my cards tie into our challenge this week too!  Here’s a little sneak peek of what me and my fellow Dream Team members have created for this week’s challenge.  Can you guess what it is?

Lovely Lilacs

Howdy all!  It’s been a busy week here in this household.  Last weekend it was “crazy clean the house weekend” because my Mom was coming to visit on Tuesday morning from Ontario.  We always make a point of her coming out to Alberta to visit us and I always go home to Ontario at least once a year to see her.

I didn’t have time to actually sit down and create a card for today until yesterday.  And since my Mom’s here still, I invited her to create along with me today as she’s just starting to learn how to use her Copic Markers.

Both our cards today feature the stunning Power PoppyFrench Liliac” digital image.

So here is the card MY MOM, Mary, created…
My Mom used some Spring greens on her Lilacs and airbrushed her back ground.

And then here’s the card I created…

I used the “French Liliac” stamp set but also the “Potted Primroses” stamp set for my sentiment.

Here’s a little close up…

Howdy Power Poppy lovers!  If you already haven’t checked out the newest digital release for this month, you are missing out!  Take a gander at these two beautiful florals and accompanying sentiments by Marcella Hawley

Still being in the holiday spirit of card making here in snowy Alberta, I took hint from some of my favourite holiday things… great holiday colours, green, grey & red, cool intricate layers and plaid!  I love plaid!

I couldn't resist applying all that fun stuff with the new “Winter Pick-Me-Up” image & sentiment and also the new “Camellias” sentiment today…

If you look closer, I actually have quite a bit of sparkle on this card but it’s very subtle…

Cauliflower Anyone?

Yippee… it’s FRIDAY!!!  Time for another chance to play along with the Power Poppy Bloom Brigade!  Wanna be one of our Peep of the Week winners and get your Power Poppy creation showcased on the Power Poppy Blog?  Click here to find out more about how to enter.

Today I want to share a fun layered beaut with ya’ll!  I had a lot of fun fussy cutting out many, many layers of stamped pieces of this adorable little basket of cauliflower from the “Farmers Market” stamp collection.

I didn’t use a lot of Copic Markers to colour my image, just E81, E84, G24, G8 & R59.  I used a bit of the patterned papers for my basket instead of colouring it in.

If you look closely, you can see that some parts of the image are higher than others – the leaves hanging over the basket are especially noticeable… I love fussy cutting!!

Now take a stroll and visit my fellow Bloom Brigaders with me and see what these amazingly talented ladies have come up with this week for you to check out!
