We're getting sketchy at moving Along With The Times

Good morning all

Whoops just looked and wondered where my post was - scheduled an hour late - for some reason! - sorry better late than never

I was really glad to have a sketch to work from for this weeks challenge at MAWTT
I always think that if you know the layout - you're half way there
and with the busy couple of weeks I've had I need all the help I can get lol

I'm still on my rubber stamps "thing" - I have so many uninked and have decided that I'm using them this year -come hell or high water - as my Nana used to say lol - apart from the waste of not using them it's also such a shame that they never get seen.  Today I'm using a cute Wee stamp that I won in a challenge last year.  it's ages since i've made a pretty pink card and decided that she was a perfect candidate to be pretty and pink!!

Here is the sketch - interpret it any way you like - as long as we can see the sketch on your work

This is what I did....

Summer sailing! - Whimsy Inspiration post

Good morning blog friends

Aren't I doing well this week!  - my 3rd post in a row - and I'm back tomorrow with a blog hop!

Todays post is my Whimsy stamps inspiration post and I'm using a Digi that I've had since last summer.  Always intending to use but never quite getting it together!!

This is Ahoy by Liastampz at Whimsy Stamps
Available in the Whimsy stamps shop  HERE

I love all things nautical, we even have a beach themed conservatory here in our house, with a lovely collection of shells. I've always picked up shells on the beach, they're from beaches from all over the world and if ever I'm feeling down my shells take me to those lovely places and the days I had there and make me smile - the beach is always my happy place.

I've been a seaside girl all my life - always living on the coast - so close we could always walk to the sea.  I love the sea and really couldn't imagine living somewhere inland.  In the winter I walk our dog on the beach and even on freezing cold rainy days I love to be there, its not all about sunshine, if you're dressed for the cold there's something beautiful about the  crashing waves and wind.  The beach where we walk is in a bay and when the tide is right out we can walk end to end right to the pier and back probably 6 miles or more there and back along the bay and you can walk the whole way on the sand sometimes hopping across the rocks and rock pools.

Glenn on the beach at Whitburn showing the bay through Seaburn down to Roker Pier

Sunrise on the beach

When I got this digi I had the idea that it was a perfect image for a little boys card and real summer scene.  I decided that I would use nautical papers and embellies - but didn't have any! I bought some papermania nautical papers and embellies last summer, then when I had my trip to the My Favourite Things shop in Florida last Christmas one of my things on the list was the seaside charms dies - so I was good to go!

This is what I did....

Image Ahoy from Liastampz at Whimsy Stamps
Coloured with copics and prisma color pencils
Papers and bow - Ahoy there! from paper mania
Nautical Dies - seaside charms from dienamics at MFT
kraft card - from MFT

Christmas is on its way - big time!

Good morning all

I'm here this morning with an inspirational post for Whimsy stamps, I've had a really busy week or so with not much time for crafting - or anything else for that matter!  We've been painting and decorating the house, cleaning carpets and putting our Christmas decorations up!!  I can hear you all saying WHAT!!! but yes you heard right I'm sitting here in full Christmas mode surrounded by our Christmas decorations and lights and our lovely big tree!  - we also put our outside lights up on the trees outside - but they're not turned on yet in case we scare the neighbours lol

I have to confess that I love it when the house is all decorated for Christmas - its my favourite time of year....but I'm really not a complete Christmas nut its just that we're going to Florida on Wednesday and won't be back until 7th December and that's just far to late to start putting up the tree and sorting things out - so I'm far happier that its done now.  When the family were all there for Sunday dinner yesterday we had a lovely time - just like Christmas.  My grandson loved the candles on the table - he's almost two and we had a great time lighting and blowing out candles - little things ha ha.  Even my mother who though it was "far to early for Christmas" had to admit that it cheered everything up - so I say - give it a try - you might just like an early Christmas!!

Anyway - back to the job in hand
I made these cute gift tags with a lovely set available over at Whimsy stamps

You'll find Christmas Gift Tags by Stampart Design by Kathryne HERE

There is a lovely selection of designs and I printed them out in different sizes to suit a selection of gifts
I then coloured them with copics (and glittered some) then mounted them onto red card or silver mirri, added a few snowflake embellies here and there and finished them off with ribbons.  They looked so pretty with all the bows and even my husband stopped and commented - which is not normal at all!

I still have a stack yet to colour, I think they're a great idea - and so much prettier - and cheaper than bought ones.  I was even surprised myself at how much I liked them!

Challenges I'm entering with these tags

Glitter n sparkle challenge - tag it
Jingle belles -holiday traditions

I have made a new home card for this months bloghop - I have to say this image came in so handy and at just he right time, as my daughter just moved into her new house!  I used the lovely

Home by Lia Stampz - available here

as you can see it's an easel card
The photo makes it look sort of tall - but its a square card!!

a close up of the sentiment label
I really like this cute house it's sort of higgledy piggledy and perfect for a new home card - especially my daughters new home!  My husband took early retirement earlier this year and he has been working on this wreck of a house she and her husband bought while they lived in a rented place while it was done.  He has totally transformed it, rewiring, replumbing, new doors and skirtings, bathroom and kitchen - its still  long way from finished but at least they're in now and they love it - it has a lovely big garden (I see the next project coming up!!) and its lovely to see them so happy, but it's lovely to get my DH back - he's been there for the past few months mostly seven days a week - I'm exhausted with it all too

Anyway back to the card - this is what I did...

Coloured with copics and prismacolour pencils

A sympathy card

Good morning all

Can you believe that this weather is still holding!  We have been just about living in our garden for the past few weeks - breakfast and dinner out there every day! - and we even had an Indian take away in the garden last night - now there's a first, there I was sitting with my curry and a glass of the new blackberry Pimms that I treat myself to in Tesco - this is the life!! - but its also why not much crafting is getting done around here.

It was actually quite an experience in our garden tonight - though nothing to do with the food.  We live very close to the coast and its the Sunderland airshow tomorrow, there we were sitting eating our curry and along came a Lancaster bomber - so low you could look up and see the undercarriage clearly and then a spitfire went zipping past - then the red arrows did a few loops and finally a typhoon (no I'm not an expert - though I've seen them many times at the airshow) - but had a look at the Sunderland website to see what was going at at tonights opener.  So impressive and we'll be walking down again this weekend to see the displays as they fly out over the coast and sea.

Anyway I digress I have a new card to share today for
My Time to Craft Challenge
and also
my Whimsy Inspiration card this week

The theme at My Time to Craft is

Sympathy Cards

I used the gorgeous image Full Bloom available here
from Stampart design by Kathryne at Whimsystamps

I think I've used this one before (Kathy has some gorgeous floral designs and I just love them)
but I thought that this one really lent itself to a sympathy card.  I kept it very simple with the focus on the image and made it into a pretty easel shape.  I personally think that a sympathy card should be simple in design - its not really the time for OTT embellies - well that's my opinion :  ).

Here's what I did..

Image - Full Bloom form Stampart Design by Kathryne at Whimsy Stamps
Coloured with copics and shaded with prismacolor pencils
Sentiment - created in word
Papers - MME lost and found - blush - love these papers
Ribbon - my current favourites from a pack of american crafts ribbons bought at TK Max
Pearls - Kars
Card - Bassill basics
Die cut shape  for frame - Spellbinders labels 10
Tag - Dienamics tag die set

For once I have the colours for you of my copics - a favourite go to combo of each colour set

Reds E39, E37,E35, E32
Greens G63, G61, G11, G0000
Beiges E43, E41, E40
prismacolour pencils - Tuscan Red and Warm Grey (70%)

Things seem to be so quiet around blogland - perhaps just a simle little sympathy card will be an easy make and we'll see you at MTTC this week - see you there

Hugs

Judith xx
