Wet or dry embossing required at Winter Wonderland Christmas Challenge

Good Morning all

We have a fun new challenge starting over at

Winter Wonderland

and our lovely Marlene has chosen the theme

Wet or Dry Embossing

I never really got embossing until quite lately but now I've got into it in a big way!! - I love embossing and even prefer embossed backgrounds to papers these days
(10,000 paper pads needing to be offloaded anyone lol)

My project today uses wet embossing onto Sheena Douglass' Perfect Partners Poinsettia
dies and stamps to make Christmas tags

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous

who are offering a prize of 3 digis of the winners choice

This is what I did....

Stamps and dies - Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Poinsettias
Stamped onto black card and embossed with Creative expressions fine detail gold embossing powder
Black card and Centura pearl old gold card - from Crafter's Companion
Tag dies - plain and stitched from MFT
Black organza ribbon - from my stash

Quite simple really - but will dress up your Christmas gifts beautifully

Hope you'll join in with our challenge this week

Challenges I'm entering

Crafty ribbons - Tags with ribbons

Happy New Year - and something else New!

Happy New Year everyone

Well I finally kicked myself into gear and here's my first post of the year

I'm setting myself off on a new blogging start for the year
-after a pretty disastrous end of last year
the only thing I can say is I had a great holiday in November
and Christmas and New Year were pretty good too

So - line drawn under 2015
and a happy 2016 is here!!

We have a "New" challenge at

Fab'n'Funky Challenges

the theme is

Something New
(new house, new baby, using new stash etc)

My card is a wedding card that my daughter asked me to make for a friend last summer
the theme of the wedding was sunflowers

I think you could even say a wedding fits the new theme - it is after all a start of a new life together
but as well as that I used some new dies

Absolutely brand new are the Dies from Sue Wilson
They're the ornate pierced rectangles from the Noble Collection
I just love this collection

I also decorated the inside to match

I don't know if these photographs do this card justice, it was quite a large card and the layering looked really effective with the black and yellow and it was also  really quite easy to make -

Our fabulous sponsor this week is

Live and Love Crafts

who are providing a £10 voucher for our prize winner

Summer is here at the Paper Shelter!

Good morning all

Hope it's still bright and sunny in your little corner of the world - we're still having lovely warm days and I've been able to walk about 5 miles a day with the dog (with a coffee stop!) almost every day.

I also got my lovely new car yesterday - I just love it - but I've pulled a muscle in my wrist pulling the hand brake on!! it's a different shape to the one in my last car - my DH says I'm not safe to be let out - maybe I should just stay in and craft instead : )

Christmas Crackers challenge day at MAWTT

Good morning all

And a Ho Ho Ho to you all this morning!

We've got a new challenge over at Moving Along With The Times and the theme is

Christmas Crackers!

What we want to see is funny Christmas Cards

Lets make it a real happy Christmas with lots of fun on our blogs - instead of all the moaning I've seen lately (myself included!) about being too busy, being stressed, not getting things done.... you know what I mean.  So heres my attempt to raise a smile in blogland!

I didn't go for the out and out funny card, just thought to myself - use a snowman and find a silly sentiment -

so here it is!

This cute little snowman is Snowday from Stampart by Kathrye over at Whimsy stamps.  I love how simple this image is - it made me smile just to look at him - a real childlike appeal and as for cold twigs - warm heart, I don't know about you but my twigs are freezing these days lol.

We are sponsored this week by
Sir Stampalot

Who have provided this great prize for us to give to this weeks lucky winner

Here's what I did.....

Image - Snowday from Stampart by Kathryne at Whimsy Stamps
Coloured with Copics
glitter glue from Martha Stewart in hematite and silver
Papers - My minds eye - Christmas
Gems - Kanban
Die cuts - Frostyville wreath by memory box, corner die by whimsy stamps and snowflakes and flag dies by   dienamics

So go on over to the MAWTT challenge blog and let the girls give you some Christmas cheer with their cute funny cards - hope you all have a smiley day!
