My time to craft challenge- milestone birthdays

Good morning all

This is my partly  scheduled and partly updated  post as I'm now enjoyong my hollies in  (at the moment -not so) sunny Florida.  We're really enjoying our hollies but not with out a few dramas!! Firstly before we even left the UK we took off from Manchester and made an emergency landing at Gatwick to have the plane repaired!! - 6 hours of sitting on the runway later - we took off again and eventually got here only to have to sit on the runway in Orlando for another half hour because there were no immigration officers to take us through and legally we couldn't disembark - just because by this time we'd been on the plane for 16 hours and they knew we were coming didn't mean they had to be ready for us (at 1 on the morning) .  Still all was forgotten when we finally got to the villa and we got into holiday mode only to be greeted by .... a hurricane warning, a tropical storm warning and tornado warnings all in the same day!!  None of them hit us but we had lots of rain and wind which led us to the shopping mall and lots of shopping and bargain Nine West in shoes for meeee!! - I'm otherwise known as the Imelda Markos of South Tyneside and had to live up to my reputation ha ha.

Anyways less of the holiday dramas and onto my card today which is my DT card for My Time to Craft - on time for a change!! (amended to add- well it would have been if my scheduled post had posted!) I have a really fun card for you today that I made for my brother in laws 60th birthday.  I had a little competition with my MAWTT DT buddies to find a digistamp suitable for this card - the criteria set for my husband for his brothers birthday card was quite the toughest I've had - but a great suggestion for this stamp came from my teamie Hazel, who spent a sleepless night coming up with this stamp for me - thanks so much  hun- your prize has been sorted in a trip to Michaels!!-and this is what I did with it......

Use Leaves on your card at Fab'n'funky Challenges

Good morning all

We have a great and very easy new challenge over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Our hostess for this week is on of our newest DT members
The very talented

Pat K

and she has chosen the theme

Use leaves on your card (somewhere!)

So think papers, die cuts stamps - anything that puts some leaves on your card!

Our sponsors this week are the fab digi stamp company

Who are giving a great prize this week of 7 digi stamps to the winner

My card for this week is a card my best friend asked me to make for her Mams birthday.  Now for those of you who don't know, here in the north east of England we don't go for this Mummsy thing we have our good old MAMs!

Whenever I have a reason to think about the Mam/Mum thing it reminds me of when my eldest son Matthew was away at university in Norwich and makes me laugh.  For some reason he decided he would go to about the furthest place possible away from home, we didn't see much of him for the 3 years he was at university but he was a good boy and rang home regularly and that's where the funny story comes in.

In our family we don't have a very strong Geordie accent but to a southerner - that is anyone south of Newcastle we just don't talk proper!!  Matthew used to ring home each week and he'd always tell his housemates he was off to ring "me Mam" - that's Geordie for" my Mummy!"  He'd been away for quite a while, ringing home regularly when one of his housemates asked him - "Who's this Meemam person you keep ringing all the time?"  Matthew was just creased up laughing when he told us -maybe its the northern humour I don't know -but it still makes us laugh now.

Anyhow - onto the card

This is what I did.....

Image and little cut out embellies - digi stamp (can't remember where will update!)

Delightful Challenges punches and Dies Challenge

Hello again

I have yet another Christmas project for you today - I'm well as truly Christmasfied (is that a word!) this week!!  This cute little girl is Caroling Penny from Digital delights and its my DT card for this week at Delightful Challenges.  There are some fabulous designs on the challenge blog, have a look over there I'm sure you'll be impressed

I just love little Penny - too cute! there are so many Digital Delight digis to choose from my problem in doing my DT cards is just too much bloomin' choice!  I decided to keep the card quite plain and simple.  Although there are several layers I managed to restrain myself with the embellies and just keep the focus on the image which I made fairly large.   I love colouring in red, I used to avoid it like the plague at one time but through practice I've developed a technique of breaking it into sections and creating folds and  that makes it far easier to deal with, also I wouldn't be without my white gel pen to cover up the mistakes lol.

This is what I did.....

Image - Caroling Penny from digital delights
Sentiment - Christmas sentiment set from Digital Delights
Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Skin E21,E00, E000  Clothes R39, R37,R35,G63,G61,G11,  boots E43,E41,E40 Shading C1,C3

Tha'ts my last Christmas project for the week - had a whole Christmas overload this week

Hi there blog friends

It's another two weeks gone and new challenge  day at MTTC again

The theme this time is

Christmas in August

I've been playing with my Cricut Expression lately - it sort of got forgotten about for a while - but I decided to give it a dust off - just to ring the changes, sometimes its a nice change to make something that's not stamped and that's what happened for this weeks challenge.  I'm into door hangers at the minute so thought I could get a head start on some new Christmas decor  - it's not long now - just wait until the kids all get back to school - there'll be selection boxes in the shops lol

Here it is hanging on my hallway cupboard door -I'm going to leave it there and see who notices it!  The green looks a bit blue in this photo - but its very red and green!

This is what I did...

All cut on Cricut expression

Hi all

I have a cute little project to share with you to day that i;ve made for the Inky Impressions Inspirations blog.   I've made a cute door hanger that would be great either for a little girls room or in my case I'm using it for decor in my beach themed conservatory - just hanging on the door encouraging me to go out and down to the beach!

I decided to stick to a blue and yellow colour theme to stay with the beach theme.  It was made very simply with my cricut expression machine.

Hi all

I'm back today with my DT card for Delightful Challenges at Digital Delights.  The challenge this week is

use fabric,fibre or trim

here is my card for this week

I have to say I'm not big on the fabric thing but I managed to find this flowery fabric in my scraps box - from goodness knows where! and I cut some flowers with my grand calibur (now fixed by my super duper Mr Fixit husband!!)  I really enjoyed colouring this image, I love little cowgirl and cowboy images and this is why I chose her - you can really go to town on the  shading of their clothes.  The sun was so bright (can't believe I'm saying that after all the rain) that there are a lot of shadows on this photograph - but its nice and bright!!

This is what I did...

Rhinestones and pearls at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Hi all

Well here I am again - this should have been my first post today but when I looked it was still in draft - wondered where it was when I checked my blog!  I'm just using the insanity excuse that's the only one I can come up with - I'm seriously losing the plot!!  I think I'm on the countdown to my holidays at the end of the month.  So if you're a DT buddy of mine - beware I'm not responsible for my actions until the end of August lol - DT cards, they may turn up or maybe not, maybe the right day or week - maybe not!!

Anyway - here's what should have been my first post today.....

Today's challenge at Fab'n'Funky Challenges is hosted by the fabulous

Jackie,

she's one of our wonderful new teamies and has chosen the theme

Rhinestones and Pearls

It's as simple as that!!  I rarely make a card without at least one of these shiny embellies so it must be an easy one.

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Crimson Cloud

Here is my card for this week using rhinestones on a very simple thank you card
 - or as my daughter has called it
 - the Brownie card!!

I'm sure you're as puzzled by the description as I was when she first said it - but for anyone who was a Brownie - well its obvious.  In the Brownies when they congratulate anyone they say (or always used to say - I presume it's never changed) "Well done, Well done, Well done" accompanied by a sequence of clapping, and the person replies "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you"  also with the same clapping sequence as you can see there are three "thank yous'" on my card .....so its a Brownie card ha ha  -  see told you I was quite mad.  I'm sure there will be two very distinct groups of readers of this blog either nodding and smiling - "oh yes I remember that" or - "haven't got a clue what she's talking about - she is mad"

This is what I did...

Card punched with - Martha Stewart zig zag border punch
Ribbon - Berrisfords blue gingham
Thank you Circle stamp - Stamping all day (Thank you Nicky you provide a great service!)
Rhinestones - from my stash
Circle and scalloped circle die cuts - spellbinders

I'm sure everyone must have a card for our challenge this week - bring on those pearls and rhinestones (and brownie cards lol)

Challenges I'm entering with this card
Crafty Sentiments - Clean and simple
Papercrafting journey -Anything goes
Papertake weekly - anything goes

Hello again blog friends

Here I am back again with my second DT card for today

This time its for the fabulous Inky Impressions and the challenge is

Use Ribbon

I have a huuuuge collection of ribbon that I mainly buy by the reel from Carnmeal Cottage. It all started when we made my daughters wedding stationary and we bought an awful lot of ribbon in a gorgeous sage green colour, it got put on all kinds of things as I made everything from the save the date cards to the boxes for the cupcakes and Table place board for the reception and everything was butterflies, birds and sage green ribbon  - such a lovely day, it makes me smile to think about it.  Anyway I decided to buy a few extra reels of ribbon at the same time as ordering the wedding ribbon and now its an annual event, I always buy ribbon at Christmas to tie round gifts and I buy a few extra reels and so the collection continues!

 with the theme

Anything but a card

A great theme to get your creativity going and our DT girls really pushed the boat out for this one -I was really blown away when I saw the beautiful variety of projects they came up with.  I decided on the easy option of a tag and this gorgeous little vintage themed stamp fit it perfectly I think, and it gave me an excuse to get my messy inks out and have a play.

I really enjoyed making this and might have a play and make a few more tags - perhaps for Christmas, the thing about these style of tag is you can always mount them up and they make a fabulous card and you can get even messier with that option!

This is what I did....

Stamp - Vintage fashion girl 11 by Flonzcraft
Tag, background stamps and sentiment - Crafty individuals
