New Fabric - Open by Appointment

We are currently open by appointment Tuesday through Saturday

Please use the booking tool on our home page to reserve a time for in-store shopping.  https://www.twothimbles.com/

As our county continues to see higher case numbers of COVID and restrictions on business activity we will continue to offer shopping by appointment.  This method of operation allows us to provide shopping assistance, manage curb-side pick up requests and operate with limited staffing and reduced hours.  We will expand the appointment offerings if demand exceeds current options, so please let us know if you have tried to book and no appointments were available!  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We have implemented a few changes to our shop layout and business practices to help maintain social distancing, upgraded sanitizing efforts and require that all customers wear facial coverings for the duration of their visit.  We appreciate everyone doing their part to take care of our community.

We appreciate your ongoing patronage and look forward to seeing you in the shop soon OR give us a call and we'll help you shop over the phone!

We are available Tuesday through Saturday from 10am - 4pm

We've got some new fabric additions from a variety of designers and we're getting ready to add some holiday fabrics (yep - that means Halloween AND Christmas) to the shelves...hard to think that fall is coming when we're having our first days of real summer weather this week!

Sometimes it's easier to get inspired from a group of precuts - or they look great sitting on your fabric shelf until you find the perfect project!  We've combined a few fat quarters and half-yard cuts to give you a head start.  These bundles and coordinated yardage are now listed on our website.  These 2 groups of William Morris designs are easy to live with and work with many design styles - and of course, a mixture of red and blue is great all summer long not just in July!

New Ideas

Now that our sale is over...time for some new projects!

This quilt has actually been hanging in the classroom for a couple of weeks...and it's been so popular that the main fabrics are nearly gone! The fabrics are from Moda by Barbara Brackman.  The photo doesn't really do it justice...the rusty orange and chocolate brown are so striking. We do have a couple of kits left and the other color option is a beautiful silver sage and dusty blue...Mother's Day gift, anyone?

Speaking of Mother's Day gifts...books are always a good option. This new one from Michele Hill (same designer of the Arts and Crafts BOM program) features applique projects in a William Morris style.

This new group from Michael Miller features pale blue, green and grey...with a super cute creepy-crawly motif. This is just a sample of the bolts we have in stock...you'll have to visit to see the rest! They'd be really fun in a baby quilt...or a diaper tote?

This funky new line from Moda is called A Stitch in Color...the colors are just so vibrant, they just scream springtime, don't you think? They'd be fabulous in a blocky quilt design.

Time to Play Catch-Up

Finally catching our breath and catching up after the Quilt Tour...what fun! It sounded like many of you had a good time collecting patterns and charms, and we certainly had gorgeous driving weather for a few days, didn't we?
Now it's back to business as usual...and as usual, we've got new fun stuff to show off!

First, this line from Lotta Jansdotter, for Windham Fabrics, features mod designs and bold color choices. It'd be great in a quilt featuring big blocks- you may see one hanging in the shop one of these days, so stay tuned for inspiration! So many projects, so little time...

On a more subdued but just as striking note...this line is called Morris & Company, designed by Barbara Brackman for Moda. It features a William Morris style, and we have two colorways- one has bolder chocolate brown and rust mixed in, while the other is more blended in tones of green and blue. They would certainly play well together in a quilt, and we've put together a sample featuring the bolder colorway.

This is a new line from Andover, called IQSC-Delectable Mountains (short for International Quilt Study Center). There are some great reds, browns, and blues mixed in- the picture doesn't really do the colors justice, so you'll have to come see for yourself!

Remember ruffle fabric? We got some new prints in! One is a light pink with white polka dots, one is a yellow floral, and the third is a muted aqua. Too fun! We are still waiting on some super-cute samples, so pictured below are our previous colors, to give you an idea of what you can do with ruffle fabric. Scarves have been very popular, and are sooo easy to put together. We're thinking a little yellow floral spring skirt, or ruffle pants out of pink polka dot. Lots of ideas! You really have to see ruffle fabric in person to get an idea of how much fun it could be made up into something cute!

Here's hoping this rain will stop long enough for spring to begin- I think it's time, don't you? Spring always means bright colors and fun new projects...
