This beauty came back from Laurie's quilter and it is special!  Laurie did an impressive job tackling the details in this quilt and a fine finish for sure.

Gypsy Wife Class

We are wrapping up the first session of Gypsy wife, and have had some over-achiever's who finished or almost finished their projects before the last class...have you ever heard of that?!  And, we have a new session just getting started so it will be fun to compare the variations in fabric and color choices from amongst the students.  Leslie has even started another version so who knows, a 2nd quilt may be in the future for some of these students as well.   A sampler quilt is always a good choice to keep things interesting!

Here are pictures of a few of the close to completion projects...

Introducing The Gypsy Wife monthly class

Does this look a little bit crazy and a whole lot of fun?!  This is a scrappy, whimsical quilt you can create as you go - the pattern is broken in to sections combining various size blocks and some filler strips in random lengths.  You can practice your piecing skills and learn some new block patterns and have a little fun at the same time.
Kingwell Designs Quilt
Beginning in September you can join the fun creating this scrappy, dynamic quilt from Australian designer Jen Kingwell. Over the course of eleven months, Leslie will teach this sampler featuring a variety of block types and sizes, both simple and more complex.  Each session will include a review of the month's blocks, hints and tricks to improve your skills, show and tell, and optional after class sew-ins.

Blocks in progress
This is the perfect project to sift through your pile of scraps, and use them in a variety of interesting and unexpected ways. This project is perfect for a confident beginner and will enhance your piecing skills and offer some experience with color value.
