Hello Friends!! I hope you all have had a great weekend!! Sorry that I am posting  so late today but I ran out of time writing a tutorial for my viewers.  I had several requests for a tutorial on how to make the Ornament treat box I posted last week.

So today I wanted to share how I made it but instead of using the ODBD ornament, I used the new release Sparkling Snowflake and ODBD Snowflake Custom die.  At each step, I have also left the dimension for the box I created for the ornament I already posted in italics and parenthesis).  I hope you enjoy it.

For this ornament I used:
Fiskars cutter and scoring blade
1/4 inch scoretape
Vanilla Cardstock
Sky Blue cardstock (optional)
thick plastic recycled from Cuttlebug folder packaging
Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder from Winter Wonderland- pictured below (optional)
Baja Breeze, Sky Blue, and Versa Mark ink
Sparkling Snowflake stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs
Our Daily Bread Designs Custom Snowflake die manufactured by Spellbinders

Step 1:  Design your snowflake or ornament the way you would like.  Make 2 since there is two right sides on your  Snowflake Ornament treat box.  (Same for the ornament treat box)

If you are using the ODBD Snowflake dies, I noticed the Cuttlebug embossing folder almost has an exact fit for the largest within the folder.

Step 2:  Cut a 2 inch by 6 inch strip of vanilla paper and 2 squares that are a 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inch (cut a 2 1/4 by 5 1/4 piece of card stock and 2 squares that are 1 3/4 by 1 3/4 for the Ornament box)

Step 3:  Score a 1/4 inch line going lengthwise one each side. (same for the Ornament box)

Step 4: Turn the strip and score a line horizontally every 1 1/2 inches (Same for the Ornament box but score a line every 1 3/4 inches)

Step 5:  Cut slits from the edge on the scored lines like pictured below (same for the Ornaments treat box)

Step 6:  Put 1/4 inch pieces of score tape on each corner of the box as pictured below. Repeat on both sides.  Fold up sides and adhere. (same for the Ornaments treat box)

Step 7: After 2 sides and the bottom are adhered, put score tape on the edges so you can eventually finish the other 2 sides. (same for the Ornaments treat box)

Step 8:  Adhere the pre-cut Squares to the box.  (same for the Ornaments treat box)

This is what it looks like when it is adhered.

Step 9: Put 2 strips 1 1/2 inches of score tape on each side of an 8 inch piece of ribbon for the handle or hanger. (same for the Ornaments treat box except put two strips of 1 3/4 strips score tape on a piece of 8 1/2 inch ribbon)

Step 10: Adhere ribbon in the middle of the box starting on the bottom inside (same for the Ornaments treat box)

Step 11:  Adhere your snowflake sides to both sides of the box making sure the ribbon is on the sides so it hangs straight. (same for the Ornaments treat box but use the ornament) The picture only shows one side but you need to do both sides making sure they match up.

Add Lindt chocolate and embellish as desired!!!

Here is my completed ornament:

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are somehow inspired by my creation. .....and maybe even decide you would like to try my tutorial.  It is very fun and easy to create and it is a great little something with a wow factor.  Tomorrow I will share a matching card.

 Have a blessed day!!

Happy Saturday all!!  I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful weekend!!  Today is going to be busy but fun.  We have a realtor this morning and then we hope to have a family day, playing board games with the girls for a Fall Party.  Since we have put our house on the market, we have been preoccupied/absorbed with it.  This weekend is about the kids. The forecast is predicting a large accumulation of snow.

Anywho....

Happy Friday Everyone!!  I can't believe it has been five days since I have posted.  I apologize.  It has been a very difficult week for me. Hopefully life will be back to normal soon.

Anywho....Today I have the pleasure of being the Really Reasonable Ribbon Guest Designer! Anyone who knows me or who has followed my blog knows I LOVE ribbon and lace!!  Who doesn't?  Bonnie has AMAZING ribbon at wonderful prices!

On the Really Reasonable Blog I have posted the remainder  of my holiday gift ensemble not posted here as well as an additional card.  I just love blue and gold against white.  It is so rich and elegant....in my opinion.

I would like to share an ornament and gift box I created using some luscious ribbon and lace from Really Reasonable Ribbon!!

The ornament is from Michaels and can open up.  I filled it up with York Miniature Mints.  The ribbon on the top is a combination of Navy Silk Ribbon and 1.5 Gold metallic lace  The tag is created with the Our Daily Bread Designs Holiday Ornaments stamped on Neenah White CS and cut out with the Spellbinders Holiday Ornament Tags dies  .

For my gift box I used the Box #2 Big XL die from Stampin up.  These make the perfect gift to put just a few candies in or something.  The ribbon is White Wrinkled Ribbon (1.5 Inches) and Gold Metallic lace.  My tags are embossed in gold using the Holiday Ornaments stampset, cut out with Spellbinders Holiday Ornament Tags dies (which can be purchased at ODBD as part of a bundle with the Holiday Ornament stamps), distressed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain and outlined with a gold leafing pen. The designer paper is DCWV Holiday Collection.  The pinecones are glittered embellishments from my leftover holiday stash from last year.

If you would like to see more of this holiday ensemble, please visit
the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog!

Here are some sneaks.

Thanks for the opportunity to guest at Really Reasonable Ribbon, Bonnie!!  I hope you all have received some inspiration from my creations.

Thanks for stopping by and for all your comments!! They are greatly appreciated!!

Have a great day!!

Blessings,

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!  I can't believe it is Wednesday already and less than a week and a half until Christmas.  Wow!  Time flies!!  I am still oh so busy with the Christmas preparations.  It always amazing how much we go through for one day.

Anywho.  Today I have two  challenge creations to share with you.

The first is my first creation as a Whiff of Joy Challenge team designer.  I am so honored to join this group of talented ladies and use some of my favorite stamps!!!
  Thanks for this opportunity girls!

Today's Whiff of Joy challenge is a sketch which was created by Kim.

http://gallery.myff.org/gallery/872455/KAS_Sketch%5B1%5D.jpg
This is my take on the sketch using Lizzie with Muff  from Whiff of Joy  (illustrated by Elizabeth Bell) for my image and the Holiday tickets from Whimsy (designed by Ann of Raindrop Echo designs.  The designer paper is from Whimsy's Holiday Folly, Best Present Co. and Basic Grey Marjolaine.  The snowflakes were created using the Create a Snowflake 2 die set from Spellbinders and a Martha stewart snowflake punch.  They were cut from silver and white glitter paper.  The corners are created with the Vintage corner dies from Cuttlebug.

Card recipe:
Stamps: Lizzie with Muff  from Whiff of Joy   for my image and the Holiday tickets from Whimsy
Paper: Whimsy's Holiday Folly, Best Present Co. and Basic Grey Marjolaine. Blue Bayou from SU
tools: Create a Snowflake 2 die set from Spellbinders and a Martha stewart snowflake punch

My second creation is for today's Your Next Stamp challenge.  This week's challenge is the ever so sweet owner of YNS, Karen!!  Karen challenged us to create party favors or something for a party or any celebration.

I have many party favors to make for my nieces and nephews.  I am showing you just one of the six party favors I created for my side of the family.  My plan is to hang them on the family tree when we have our family Christmas Celebration.  The image is YNS Merry Mouse with Candy Cane.  I just think this is the cutest and it is appropriate for a boy or girl.  The designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather.  I used the labels four die and cut off the bottom for the tag.  The circle dies are from Spellbinders.  The image is colored with copics.

Project recipe:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather, real red
Accessories: Spellbinders labels 4, scalloped circles (small), standard circles (small), American Crafts grosgrain ribbon

So onto my blog hop creations! Since many are in the Christmas mode, including me, and trying to make gifts and cards for the holidays, I have decided to get started on my holiday gift giving.  I have used three different miniature stamps and created little gift sets for each.
The first stamp used is the adorable Fhiona's Christmas tree.  This can be used for tags and so many other things!  I decided to make a little treat bag. I colored the tree with copics and added some sparkle to the star. The tag is cut out with a tag die from Our Daily Bread Designs. The dp is a retired paper from Stampin Up.
My next creation uses the adorable Ellie Loves to Bake Miniature.  Karen has carried the larger Ellie Loves to Bake in her store but today she is releasing a miniature.  This is just perfect for recipe cards so I created one.  I posted a gift set with almond tarts last week and had so many requests for a recipe card, I decided to use that so you all can enjoy the recipe.

My last creation uses the adorable miniature Fhiona's Snowman...again the larger snowman is in the store but sometimes you need a smaller stamp...this is it.  I made a little cute carton using the die from Stampin up.  To accompany my gift set I made a little candy wrapper.  The template for this easy candy wrapper is created by Leigh Ann Baird and is available here. The snowflake on the wrapper is a snowflakes die from Spellbinders.  The dp on the milk carton is SU Ski slope (retired).  The dp on the candy wrapper is SU Candy Cane (still available).  The little snowflakes hanging on the carton are buttons.

So now it's time for you to hop on over to Linda Cumming's blog as she is the next stop on our hop, but I'd love it if you left me a comment before you go!
