Mason Jar Soap Dispenser

Leave a comment and automatically be entered for my monthly drawing for a Lisa Leonard necklace!image

In my mind, I have already featured this gal like 14,000 times.  I love her site, but I always think I’ve already featured her great ideas.

DecorChick

I love decorating and I love thrifting….when they both come together, I am one happy camper!  Creating a well decorated home being innovative has so much more appeal than buying everything at Pottery Barn or Pier 1…….What talent’s in that?

This idea is genius….maybe I’m late to the party, but this is a great idea that I’ve never seen.  We all love painted pots…..

imageThose are the same pots…….imageimagethen she placed them in the window above her door.  Genius!  Yep, I’m stealing that idea.  Anyone else with me?imageHere’s another idea that I’ve only seen a couple of times.  Take one old cute mason jar……..imageGrab a pumper out of an empty bottle……make sure it’s a good one….nothing worse than one that doesn’t pump.imagePunch a hole in the lid of the jar…….she has a whole tutorial…..and you’ve got yourself the most darling soap dispenser that ever graced this Earth!image How about more cute pots?  Terracotta pots are inexpensive and make such cute decor.image

She too has jumped on the Rosette band wagon…….and I’m so glad she did.  This wreath is very cute.  Perfect for any room.image I couldn’t help but notice how perfect her bows were…..and here’s another example below with a fab chalk board.  We love our chalk boards.image     Once again………I have never seen this.  I’m a fan of painting just about anything for the sake of decorating, but a book?  YES!  A book!imageLooks good already…….imageI knew I should have bought that stamp…….image    SHUT UP!  Can you believe it?  This opens up SO many great ideas.  You could do themes for holiday’s, seasons………oh the wheels are turning!image Then take that cheese cloche you found at Good Will, fill it with anything birdy, place it on top of your newly painted book……and you have yourself one of the cutest things ever.  Pottery Barn eat your heart out.image

OK!  NOW I know I’ve featured her!  :)

Off you go to smother her with TCB reader goodness. Surprise her…….I never let my features know ahead of time.

Come back tomorrow for Get Your Craft On- We had over 250 links last week.

Hoping to Adopt……

Kara attending the Utah GNO too.  I swear I already featured her…..but she informed me I hadn’t………I showed one of her projects she said, but not a feature…….well Miss Kara….here is your feature!

Creations By Kara

After chatting with her through wonderful world of social media…….It was So nice to finally meet her in person.  Blogs are amazing.  I love the connections I’ve made.  Kara is another one of those crafty creative LDS women……but hold on to your shorts…..because not only does she live in Utah……but she RECYCLES!  Be still my heart!  Before I dive into all your creative talents, I wanted to point out what I learned while chatting it up.  She and her husband are looking to adopt a baby girl. She’s got 1000’s of boys and now wants a girl.  So if you know of anyone who is thinking adoption may be the best choice for them, send them Kara’s way.  What a great family to join.

Flower Rosettes- Kara has a passion for using drop clothes for curtains too…….and then decided she needed to make some cute little rosettes with some of the fabric.imageAnd stick them on the lamp you had already spruced up….isn’t that cute?image DO NOT go to her site if you are hungry in any shape or form………She really should have a warning on her site.  “DROOL WARNING – PROTECT KEY BOARD”!

She has SO many great recipes on her site.  All very family friendly.  I don’t remember what these were called, all I remember is they had peanut butter in them……that’s all I need to hear.image Which would explain why I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this Reese’s PB cake….AND….and it looks like she made his shortly before meeting me at GNO.  She could have brought me a piece of cake!  OH MY!imageHome Made Hamburger buns?  Seriously…… she needs another baby so she’ll stop showing off with that extra time.imageApparently, I’m the last person on earth to learn how you make your muffins into different shapes…..I showed you hearts yesterday and now shamrocks today.  She used tin foil instead of marbles…….The things I learn.imageimageI gotta get outta the kitchen……If I look at anymore of her recipes, it’s not going to be pretty.  I’m starving….

So back out to the garage….

She’s got a few pieces of furniture she’s redone.  It’s so amazing how a dated piece can look SO good with a bit of paint.image imageDon’t miss her Etsy Shop while visiting her site.  It’s to fund their adoption.  The girl needs a baby girl….Let’s find her one!

Enjoy- Please let her know how you found her.  It makes me look good. :)

Kara, it was lovely to meet you.

Knock it Off….

OK, I’m just telling you now that I do not possess the skills to do any of what my featured blogger does.  But I know many of you do.  So really…….this is basically a public service announcement.  Many of you already know about her. She’s been featured by everyone and their dog……so I wasn’t going to feature her….since you probably already know about her…….then I saw my I love TCb button on her blog and she hooked me.  She loves me.  She really does.

I am in awe of this gal Ana at Knock Off Wood.

She completely overwhelms me and at the same time makes me SO angry she is not my neighbor.

She is crazy talented making all this furniture.  Why spend big bucks on name brand furniture…..that I won’t mention here, because instead of being flattered by us blogging women, some of these “name brand” companies like to play bully.

Ana’s site is FULL of different types of furniture that you can make. She supplies the plans for FREE!  FREE!  She even has a few videos showing you tips.

I’m particularly interested in this Murphy Bed.  I have been wanting one of these in our daylight basement forever!image This is where she loses me……..but you might be smarter than me and could do this.image

How would you like to have these cool cubby shelves for a fraction of the price?  Yep she has the plans and shows you EVERYTHING you need to build these.  So inspiring.image I LOVE this bench.  LOVE!  Looking at it, I’m starting to actually believe I could make it.  She how she wears you down?image Who doesn’t covet those cool entry way cubby benches and coat hangers?  And usually they’re going to cost you about $500. image But Ana, Wonder Woman, can show you how to make it for around $50!  NO WAY! ………..WAY!

 image

Ooooh, I am sending these plans to my sis right away…….oh wait……she’s even less crafty than me……but look at these lounge chairs?  These would be perfect for laying around her pool this summer when I visit her.   I can just image laying there sipping on my margarita….oh wait…..I’ll be in Utah. image image Dang!  This looks like our Children’s Museum.  That is one lucky little girl.  image

What I love about Ana’s site, is that she makes us rethink our abilities.  She saves us a TON of money and she shares everything so freely.  I really think she should have her own show on HGTV…….don’t you?

Maybe if enough of us drop them an email about her, they’ll figure it out.

image Just a reminder that BIG things are happening here on Tuesday.  It’s our Spring Fling,  Myself and the other Chic Chick Media girls (tip junkie, SITS, Skip to my Lou) are giving away 2 prizes per hour!  YES WE ARE!  One here and one in our blog frog communities.  Please join my blog frog community.  We’ll be chatting it up every day about all things inspiring.

Reupholster Furniture

Thank you so much for linking up to Get My Craft On!  WOW!  You guys rocked my socks off.

Oh how I love a cheap woman.  Well….maybe I better rephrase that.  Oh  how I love a creative woman who can make magic inexpensively.  In this case it’s women.

As you all know, I always say you can have a beautiful home with out  breaking the bank…….well maybe I don’t always say it, but I do think it and I know that it’s true.

All Things Thrifty with Kallie and Brooke find all kinds of bargains and then wave their magic paint can or their fabric wand……..imageimage Isn’t that fabulous?  Check out all her chairs below.  Love all the color.image   Here are a couple of those chairs before.  Old smelly and ugly.image Fresh, not smelly and oh so cute!  You will never look at ugly furniture the same…….because you never know what’s lurking  to come out.image Now that we have all these large flat screen Televisions, they don’t always fit in the TV cabinets we once used.  I for one HATE seeing tech garb and demanded that our new flat screen fit in our armoire.  Poor hubby had to settle for a 32 in……before you feel sorry for him, he has a larger 50in downstairs with all that media stuff……But I’m warming up to new solutions like they did.

She did find a hutch……. imageimage Then once again, waved the magic paint brush and WhaLa image THAT I could get used to.  What a great idea.  Way to think outside the box.image Speaking of TV cabinets…….before she found the above one, she took this piece and made it more suitable and more stylish.

imageSee the open cabinet part?  Why not take some rubber floor mats and cut them up to fit?  Cuz that’s what she did.    Who thinks of this stuff?  These brilliant girls do……that’s who.imageBrilliant   imageIf you think you don’t possess the talent to do all this fancy stuff, think again. They have great instructions on “How to reupholster furniture”  “ How to paint furniture”.  After reading their blog, you’ll be ready to tackle just about anything.

They take you through step by step.  I love that they’re using glaze.  That’s something I’ve been afraid of…….so I guess I’ll try it on that next project.imageThe glaze really makes this project.image You don’t have to have money to have a nice home.  But you do need taste.   So many fun projects to cruise through.

I hope you’ll go surprise them with a ton of comments.
