Gettng Inspired

Oh boy I had a great time at the scrapbooking retreat. I scrapped 27 layouts! I usually only get about 15 done, but I have simplified my style ……or just don’t care as much…….I mean really…,.. as long as I make it somewhat pleasing to the eye, get the journaling down…….isn’t that what really matters?

Well if I was as talented as my featured blogger……..I would feel a little more pressure…….or would I? Because I’m sure it’s NO pressure for her to come up with all this gorgeous stuff. I’m pretty sure it comes second nature to a girl like Rhonna Farrer. Her name should be Rhonna Inspiration boom boom Farrer. She’s cute too.

If you’re a scrapbooker, or a digi scrapbooker……you’d have to be dead if you didn’t know who Rhonna was.

She is one of the most talented designers out there. I first fell in love with her whimsical romantic style a few years ago. Then she really got into the digi scene and that’s when I just sat back and watched. Even though she has some fabulous tutorials on her sites….I was still too mesmerized to follow along. Recently, she joined forces with a couple of other big scrapbook names and started House Of 3. Great stuff. Many directions to keep you inspired and most of all……….learning. She also joined forces with one of my favs……Margie “kiss kiss” Romney for Spark. A small and intimate Inspiration conference.

Rhonna is everywhere……….then when I’m feeling like just another blog out there, SHE posted something on my Get Your Craft On. She even said she LOVES my blog on Twitter. ME! Now I have made it. :)

Because Rhonna is so much more than scrapbooking…….and is really good at the whole digi thing…….she has a few blog designs. I even bought a blog banner digi set from her and used it on my personal blog for awhile. She even shows you what to do.image She also shows you how to create and use wonderful elements for digital creations. Still way over my head………but someday. image

But one thing I could figure out is this free tutorial and download for address wraps. I could have used something like this for our neighborhood Christmas gifts.

imageOr how about dressing up your canned goods? I can’t remember, but I think you can download this label too.imageShe’s giving weekly updates on what’s going on at House of 3. It’s truly your destination for inspiration……….well after you stop at my blog of course.imageI know this is Christmas stuff……..but it’s so cool. So unique. She has a full tutorial on how to make these mason jar snow globes…….but don’t shake them.image Speaking of Unique…..she saw a necklace online and decided to make one herself……..she even shared it with us with a full tutorial. This came from her Summer Projects DIY. So fun!imageShe’s a girl after my own heart…….she loves spray paint too. image

Head on over and let her know I featured her. Just think how cool I’ll look then. :) I know you’ll fall in love her.

This cool post is brought to you by the coolest camera bag and accessories girl out there. Priddy Creations.

A Bushel and a Peck

Well now that half my readers are back………..just for the record…….I can never be quiet that long…..you’d be best to log into the site the old fashioned way just to check in.

Ok…..back to what I do…..bring you fabulous creative blogs.  My media partner Cindy with Skip to my Louher wanted to know why I hadn’t featured

A Bushel and a Peck.

Well……because I didn’t know about her!

WOW!

Another LDS super mom with amazing ideas.  If you’re LDS, she shares some great tips for some of her callings.  Even if you’re not LDS.  Still great stuff.

It’s no surprise she’s organized.  So that explains her tidy nice looking photo collage’s.  I love that.  It’s very pleasing to look at.

One Christmas she made……MADE these games for her family.  Great idea and I can imagine all the laughter…….and think about it for future generations.  What a gift.  I guess it helps that she’s a designer. She designs logos and all that fancy stuff.  That would explain her very cool blog design.

boardgame

If you’re having a baby…………..and who isn’t if you’re LDS….but you want HER to throw you the baby shower.  Look at the cute baby shower invite!  She’s got skillz……

invitation

Look at the detail.  She’s good.  Her whole theme was Cravings.  LOL!  Love that. cravingshowerAnother baby shower………another example of all the many themes she creates.  Darling.

babyshower

And yet another shower idea….I think this one may be a bridal shower?  Lots of practice there too.  Love this.  Who woulda thunk?  Circus…….

shower She also has some pretty cute parties for her children.  ella'sbdayI love the photo collages……..makes my job so easy.curiousparty  She also scrapbooks!  Of course she does…….looks like she’s doing digital.  Her style is very simple like one of my favorite “scrapbook celebrities”……who is actually on my facebook fan page!  Cathy Zielske……yes, I’m name dropping…..and while I’m at it, did I mention that I got to drive Lisa Bearnson around once?  seaworld05-06 She shares a lot about different events, calls, programs she does at her ward (church)…….I love how she shares idea for decor and ideas for covering up items that aren’t helping your theme……This looks SO good.  She got this idea from Stitch Market…..  A little wrapping paper goes a long way.DSC04267    And because she’s a super mom….she makes her own education books for her children.  She got this idea from Little Painted Piggies…..credits on her blog.  I’ve made a paper bag album before……with ribbons………just sayin….6a00e54ff987ff88340105361bc81e970c-320wiShe’s very creative in her daily life.  Her blog is full of nice photos, fun projects and cute kids.  Please let her know I sent you…….leave her a nice comment.  Enjoy!

Come back tomorrow and link your latest creative project on my Get Your Craft On.  So many great ideas!

Unexpected Destination

I used to live, breath and dream scrapbooking. Love it, couldn't get enough of it..........then just about 2 years ago I started this blog called Today's Creative Blog that took all my creative time......but I loved it just as much as scrapbooking........I would scrap when I could, still taking over 3000 photos a year........then my scrap room got so un-organized that it just wasn't fun anymore.......but now I feel the urge to get it cleaned up so I can make sense of it and get scrapping again. Plus, National Scrapbooking day is right around the corner and I'm signed up with a couple of friends for a crop......I feel that fire burning........So of course I was attracted to Debbie's site today. Unexpected Destination. She is a fabulous scrapbooker who has made it a career. She is the owner of Get it Scrapped...........exactly how I feel.........just get it done. I was even looking into her classes..........SO SO reasonable. $20 for some classes.........a darling banner one that started last week.......$20. Dang I missed it. I may have to look into a digital one.......Lord knows I need help in this dept. Looks like she has a really good newsletter too.
I was looking at Debbie's layouts..........cuz I'm always on the hunt to scraplift...........What surprised me the most is that most her layouts were digi layouts and I had a hard time telling......wouldn't that be a compliment? That's how I meant it.

These do not look digi to meOK........that one wasn't......Love the scrolls.......I think I have those.....I could totally scraplift this one.......I'll give her credit......geez.

Head off to Debbie's site to see what she's all about. She has something for all levels of scrapbookers........or if you're just getting started.....she seems nice enough, I bet she could lead you in the right direction.

I also noticed that she had our new widget on her blog.......She Rocks! I bet she'll even put my featured button up. It makes me so happy when bloggers do that.......I love it even more when they share their feature with all their readers.......some don't........too humble I guess.......I wouldn't know anything about that........I guess not everyone is a showdog like myself.

If you have a blog and you want more readers......you really should get our widget. It's the best way to get your blog listed on over 100 blogs.

ding ding ding.....The Winner is..........

Melissa! Melissa is going to fall off her chair when she finds out.........you know why? She has 3 boys (adorable I might add) and one little girl who is 2.........perfect age for this tea party teapot.

Melissa from A Time For Everything is quite the scrapper! She's also from the Pacific NW.........OH YEA.......let's hear it for us NW girls!

She's got a great idea for chipboard alpha storage. I use my IKEA drawers for my foam stamps....the ones I never use.........wait........I'm not using anything in that room lately......
Pretty cool huh?

Thank you to all of you who entered. I wish I could give away one to everyone, but that would break me. Dotty's teapot kits are under $40. Great gift idea for any little girl........no worries about lead. Stupid lead.

The Hybrid Kid

The NW must be the laughing stock of all you other snowy places. If it snows the tiniest skiff......they cancel school.........for days! We have only had school one day this week and the threat of snow FINALLY came. We have 3 inches..........Call the National Guard.
With that said, I stopped by Michael's on my way home this morning............yes, I ventured out into the danger zone.........I'm a bit cocky with my driving skills being that I grew up in Central Oregon where it actually does snow..........more than 3 inches............Anyway.......I stopped by Michael's and was the only person in the store. I grabbed a bunch of crafty supplies for me and Lu........he's been into making puppets lately and my scrap paper isn't doing so well for this project. It's all about keeping him busy..........when he's not trying to sled on 3 inches of snow.......scoot is more like it.

The Hybrid Kid is a fairly new blog, but I love some of the quick crafty ornaments shes got goin on. Perfect for this stormy day...........with 3 inches of snow.

So if you have kids who are jacked up on candy canes, Christmas cookies and hot chocolate........and you need for them to settle down........maybe a craft or two?
This is something I can see my guy doing. She has a tutorial on it...............say it with me........WE LOVE A TUTORIAL!

And why not a candy cane ornament? I don't have these beads, but I have something else that may work..........this should take up at least 10 min before they bounce around asking for more food. And why not a good ole paper bag book?! This is great for a little one learning their colors..........but if you have rambunctious 9 year olds........they can make it an exploration journal, or a monster sketch book............Maybe they could actually use their imagination? Interesting.

More for the little ones who are learning their numbers. It's a download........a digi download. More downloads. I think this one is $1..........a buck! She has a few freebies.........you really should go see if it's anything you might need. These would make great gift tags.

I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas season so far. If you have snow..........enjoy.

Thanks again for Kiki & Lele for donating one of their necklaces and hair bows for the giveaway. Jennifer P won................And Angela from Cottage Magpie won the gift cert! I know...........they are both past features! I love their blogs and I loved their traditions they posted at Tokoni.com

Summers Camp

Oh my holy heck........I know I have gray hair........well not actually because I pay a pretty penny every 6 weeks........... but I always pride myself with having an excellent memory.
I was positive that I had featured Summers Camp before...........I was so positive, I scolded her for not wearing her "featured button" on her blog. She was kind enough to let me know that "NO, she had never been featured" I still didn't believe her..........I went to the bottom of this site and did my own little search......I was gonna show her!

You know what? She was right...........Well, I hate to be wrong (not really) so I am featuring her TODAY! I'll show her!
Beth is such a funny writer. Funny girl. Her posts just roll over your tongue.......if you were reading them out loud anyway. I love the way she connects with her readers.........shares the good and the bad.

I knew she scrapbooked...........but what I didn't know was how talented she is as a graphic designer. She has an etsy shop with a few things in it..........and she better get busy, because I'm sure there are several of you out there that would love some new digi stuff. She designs blogs! We love blog designers........a new banner, buttons? Oooooooh, we love it!

She is getting into designing baby announcements, Christmas Cards, etc....... I can't imagine how fabulous these would be.I'm pretty sure had they had computers when I was in college, I would have majored in Graphic Design instead of Corporate Fitness. You think I'm joking don't you? I really would have..................oh you thought I was joking about the computers.........yes and they just got a computer lab my senior year. Seriously. Remember.......I have gray hair.

Beth is also crazy about nutrition.........every now and then, she'll give you a few tips.

OK, off you go. Sink your teeth in, there's a lot of great reading.

Kreative Karma

Back in the day when I was first bit by the scrapbook bug........I became a "consultant" thinking I was going to help everyone and their dog scrap all their photos, get everyone addicted like I was. I met a gal I still keep in touch with..........we never met IRL, but she was my upper line.......We both started with one company, after a bit of drama........what's the scrapbook industry without drama.........I swear it's one of the most dramatic industries out there.........Anyway.......I then followed her to another company. I have since left that dream of becoming the next MaryKay of Scrapbooking, but I have always kept in touch with Karma. She is now designing digi stuff. And she's good.
Our sons are around the same age. I feel like I've known Hunter since he was about 2.
Hunter didn't come easy to them.........he was much more expensive than my little guy. Now Karma is wanting to expand her family and help the economy ...........she wants her frozen embryo's. she has to pay for them. Wouldn't you want them? But the medical mafia has them...........there I go being all dramatic. But they are EXPENSIVE!
So being the entrepreneur that she is, she with a few other talented women with the Faith Sisters have designed a great digi scrap kit to sell to raise money to get her embryo's. It's the 21st century after all. Break those babies out of frozen jail!

So if you're a digi scrapper, go buy this.............you too can be a part of getting Karma pregnant........well, you know what I mean.

Jennifer Pebbles ~ the good life

I have a confession to make..........
My name is Kim and I haven't scrapped in............oh at least a year. Sure I had that one night in April........but that has been it in the last year. That is pathetic! How can I call myself a scrapbooker? The shame!
It's time to get back on the horse. It's time to call in some big gun motivation...........Jennifer Pebbles! She's one of my homey's. Well she lives in Washington anyway.........like me. I've never met her, but I can feel her NW charm when I read her blog. She funny, and I like funny. Even though she's a cougar........I'll try not to hold it against her. At least she's not a huskie.......then I'm afraid I wouldn't be allowed to even look at her layouts. (we're ducks in this household......or at least my husband is.......you are not allowed to speak of the beavers or the huskies.......no no no)

Jennifer is going to get me going, get me motivated. Love her layouts. They have just enough zing, but still that clean look.
Jennifer is one of the names in the scrapbooking industry. She's designing for several companies that most of you may already know..........especially if you're a scrapbooker. I even know them, and remember...........I'm not a scrapbooker anymore. :)

Autumn Leaves.......amazing stuff. Love their calender.

A Must Art Stamps ........cutest stamps EVER!

American Crafts .........lots of scrapping stuff you must have.

Pretty Little Studio.........her own digi stuff. Some of her designs were used to create this blog. You can see her little button on the left. Can't go wrong with this stuff if you're a digi gal.
And the grand daddy of them all. Two Peas in a Bucket

I'm starting to tingle.........I think my scrap magic is coming back..........I knew Jennifer could pull me out of this funk. I wonder if she'd come clean up my scrap table first, so I can get started? Heck maybe she can just come scrap with me?
I am also loving her photography. She is fairly new at it and look at what she's doing! You have no idea how inspiring that is to a newbie like me.She has some pretty incredible photos on her site. Love the snowy one.........you'll have to search her archives.....you don't want to miss it. I'll give you a hint......it's in the winter months. :)
Look at that Seattle stamp! What a perfect card for any coffee lover........Seattle lover, NW lover.......very cute.
I absolutely LOVE how she's storing her buttons! I can just feel them on my skin as my hand dives in to grab that yellow one towards the bottom.
And if you love the buttons..........take a gander at how she's storing her stamps. I love me an old suitcase.......in fact I have three of them in my family room posing as end tables. Very cool.

She's a vintage girl after our own hearts. I would totally wrestle her for those lockers. Those are the most perfect scraproom storage I have ever seen. They would be pretty cool in a kitchen, or mud room too. Where did you find those Jennifer?

Off you go to spend the evening with Jennifer. You won't be disappointed. I hope she's not disappointed that I borrowed her photos........I'm pretty sure I asked her a few months ago.........right Jennifer.......Jen Jen.......Jenny? I love ya.........smooch. But if you want me to take them down, I can. :)

TCB readers, you need to flood her with comments.........butter her up for me will ya.
