Personal tips about marriage(a little bit about long distance relationship)

Well, honestly, I might not be the best person to talk about this, I mean, it has only been 1 and a half year but inshaAllah I will try my best to give you some insights on what to do and what not to do . I assume everyone here wants to get married, the difference is whether you want it early or much later in life. I have nothing against those who decide to marry later, I mean, that's totally up to you but me, personally, the reason why I wanted to get married early was because I feel like settling down. There will be one point in life, no matter at what age you felt it, that you feel that you are bored being single and what's left to do is get married. So first up is, 1. Get married when you're ready Don't get married just because everyone else is. Marriage is not about who's next and being married is not a big deal at all. Get your intentions straight and you will hear this coming from me; there is nothing to be ashamed of for getting married to make your r...

Of taxi drivers slash personal marriage counsellors, Egypt demos and controls

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds, and Peace and Prayer be upon the Final Prophet and Messenger. Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Quran Everytime me and husband went for a taxi ride, we always get free marriage counseling from the taxi drivers.  It was uncanny how the taxi drivers got excited whenever they knew we're actually a married couple since both of us were like so young(to them) and our looks didn't help that much. I was once mistaken for a 3rd Former. 15 y/o, seriously? So anyways, this one uncle is a Malay muslim and he has been married to his wife for 45 years now. He told us that it will not be the same way as it will be like the first few weeks of marriage. For the relationship to grow, we will need to tolerate and be patient with other  and all that John Gray's stuff. Interestingly, I asked him a question, well, we're all students of the university of life aren't we? Th...

[A Personal Post] Scraps hubby made for me :)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds, and Peace and Prayer be upon the Final Prophet and Messenger. Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Quran He's really embarrassed about this but I'm just gonna post it anyway. This scraps was made using Scrap Pad for iPad (That's the name for the app...I think).  Sometimes, things do happen just the way He plans it. :) Am glad we found each other though the story was kind of random. :) "Sometimes we can't just say "Allah has a better plan for us."  We have to believe He does."

For the singles and 'not available's

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds, and Peace and Prayer be upon the Final Prophet and Messenger. Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Quran *** The longer I am in marriage life, the more I am baffled to why people would resort to premarital relationship a.k.a 'couple'. When you're dating, there are lots of things you can't do (by Islamic law, that is) and also no matter how much you love him/her, it's not really secured until they are married to you and especially to girls, marriage is a form of security you can't get from relationship outside of marriage. And when I say 'security', I meant in terms of physical interactions. Let's say you've done almost everything with your boyfriend, should anything happen, nauzubillah, you can't get him to be responsible because he's not committed to you on black and white. So marriage is basically a contract to give justi...

Dormant

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds, and Peace and Prayer be upon the Final Prophet and Messenger. Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Quran *** Alhamdulillah, finally, FINALLY I get to write again. I seriously thought that I might stop writing because like, seriously, I can't get the mood to write. Guess I have been quite busy since the wedding and also, since the new semester has just started, a lot of adapting needs to be done so yeah, I was terribly thrown off the course. It was kind of hard, really, all the adapting that I need to do. Being a wife of 3 weeks now, I can say that I have learnt a lot so far. Especially in terms of the social aspect that I have been lacking since...well, since forever. All in all, it's the beginning. I hope I will be able to write more. Soon. :) Oh. It's good to be back in the blogosphere. Heh. "Sometimes we can't just say "Allah has...

Salam Eid Al-Fitri everyone!

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds, and Peace and Prayer be upon the Final Prophet and Messenger. Abdullah Yusuf Ali, The Holy Quran *** InshaAllah in a few hours time I'll be on the bus to Kamunting, Perak. I am going to celebrate the first few days in Bagan Serai at my keluarga angkat's place until the 23rd where I'll leave Bagan Serai for KL until the 25th. InshaAllah my akad nikah will be on the 26th of August/ 8th of Shawwal. Pray so that we will be able to fulfill one of the mitsaqan ghaliza, that is the marriage, as quoted from Muhammad Fauzil Adhim in his book Kupinang Engkau dengan Hamdalah, " Menikah merupakan sunnah yang diagungkan oleh Allah. Al-Quran menyebut pernikahan sebagai mitsaqan ghaliza (perjanjian yang sangat berat). Mitsaqan ghaliza adalah nama dari perjanjian yang paling kuat di hadapan Allah. Hanya tiga kali Al-Quran menyebut mitsaqan ghaliza. Hanya unt...
