'3'

Hello girls....how are you? One of my favourite days of the month is the day that
I receive my box of goodies from Scraps of Elegance. This month's kit called 'Adore'
is just full of beautiful and romantic papers and flowers, perfect for a girly pink page.

'3'

This photo dates back to when I was pregnant with my son. I laugh now at how big I was,
but I was carrying a 10.5 pound baby in there! I sat down with these papers and flowers and just wanted to do something very dramatic with a lot of textures and colors. I started with some gel medium through a couple of different stencils and then added inks, stamping and lots of beads.
Anyway, this kit is gorgeous, and they sell out fast!

To find out how to purchase our kits, please go here.
And for loads of inspiration and ideas on what to create with our kits, please go here.

We also have a beautiful mood board every month and there is prize to be won too :)
you can find it in our Scraps of Darkness Face Book community right here.

Here are a few close ups...

I would like to enter my layout in a challenge I found on 'Paper Story' all
about pink and hearts.....

Please find this challenge here....

From the main kit and the floral add-on, I used the following:

Blue Fern Studios paper 'Reminisce'
Prima flowers
Silver heart buttons
Prima pink Micro beads
KaiserCraft 'Ma Cherie' sticker sheet
Prima white lace trim

I also used two different pieces of 2 Crafty Chipboard, 'Sammi's Swirls' and 'Mini Branches'
that I painted black and then lightly embossed in silver.

See you soon,
Lisa xo

'Happiness....'

'...was when I was a child."

Hello girls! I was so pleased to be invited as a Guest Designer over on the blog 'Scrap Kafe International',
where they have a new challenge that's very interesting....
using white and the word 'happiness',
which really had me thinking about how to scrap these two elements.

For more details about this challenge please go here.

Here are a few close ups...

For me, my inspiration starting point is always the photograph I choose to scrap. From there I pull the theme, the colors and the mood I'm trying to create. I found this one in the box I keep handy of photos I've printed for my pages and for some reason it reminded me of growing up in Ontario.
Even though we lived in the city, I have so many memories of the outdoors...camping, hiking, the raw beauty of nature....and this photo reminded me of happy times as a kid playing in the snow :)

I found a challenge that asked what do we want most this winter?
And my answer is....snow!!! I would love to see everything sparkling white for a few days...
and my 9 year old boy has only seen snow a handful of times in his whole life!
I found it on a blog called 'Memuaris'.

For more details on this challenge, please go here.

I used a lot of watercolors and stamping in my background and then added some
twigs and some moss from the craft store.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you feel some inspiration and reflect on some happiness in your life :)

January Challenge at Words & Painterly

Hello crafty friends! It's been a bit quiet on my blog, but lots of things going on behind the scenes :)
Today I'm happy to show you an art journal spread that I created for the new
January challenge at Words & Painterly!

Looking for some inspiration this time, I found a BoBunny ephemera pack in my stash
(read:hoard) that had some vintage circus images that were the perfect colors.
To be honest, the colors were a bit hard for me this month, I started with the brown and blue
easily, and then added some pops of red, voila! I really hope you'll give it a go this month!

To red more about the challenge and check out the prize pack, please go here.
Here are a few details...

The 2 Crafty Chipboard piece called "Glenda's Swirl" added some vintage flair.

That's all for me today, hugs! Lisa xo

'December'

Hello girls! Happy New Year to all my crafty friends!
I hope 2016 is a wonderful year for all of us :)
I have been playing around with my December kit from Scraps of Elegance.

'December'

The Graphic 45 Christmas collection in this months kit had a beautiful vintage feel to it so I just went with that feeling....I used a lot of those papers under my photo and then layered on lots of Prima flowers from the Floral Add On.

To find out where to purchase our kits, please visit the online store here.
Also, the Design teams for both Scraps of Elegance and Scraps of Darkness
have been announced, so you can check out the new designers that have joined the team here.
So honoured to be staying on!

Here are a few details...

I incorporated a few 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces here too. I used a piece called
'Elements' and also some of the 'Turkish Panel' that I painted gold.

Speaking of chipboard, I thought I'd share a pair of Christmas tags I designed for 2 Crafty.

For more details, please visit the 2 Crafty Chipboard blog here.
My favourite part of these tags is the chipboard called 'Sweet Corner Holly' that I painted
with red and green watercolors.

I know Christmas is over...but we were late in putting up our tree this year, so I've decided to leave it up until Epiphany....I am still loving the lights and the sweet smell of pine.
Thanks for dropping by...

Faith Margaret

Hi there my crafty peeps....I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday!
I am back today with a layout that I did for Scraps of Elegance
using the December kit called 'Silver Bells'.

'Faith Margaret'

Continuing on with my obsession with brown lately, I chose this beautiful Authentique paper called 'Tidings One' and then used the turquoise Petaloo flowers, and the white Prima resin from this month's add-ons. There are so many pretty Christmas papers to work with this month. I also added a few elements from past kits, the paper doily and the Prima metal flourish.

Here is the December kit 'Silver Bells'...

These kits sell out super fast! To find out how to purchase please visit the store here.
To visit the blog and see all the beautiful projects with this kit please go here.
And don't forget to check out our Face Book group here.

Here are a few close ups....

As I was creating this layout I realized that this is the female companion to my layout
John Edward that I also created with a Scraps of Elegance kit a while back.
Same daguerrotype photograph, and beautiful vintage styling that I adore....
the name Faith Margaret also just came to me, so here she is :)
I love the idea of creating characters in art, imagining who these strangers were...

I used some 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces here, 'Corner Holly Vines', and 'Elements'
that I embossed in copper and gold.

I am so happy to announce that I have been invited to stay on the Scraps of Elegance
design team for another year! Thank you so much for the opportunity to create my strange
vintage art with such beautiful kits...always full of beautiful papers and lovely flowers.

Thanks for stopping by!
I appreciate every visit and every comment,
looking forward to enjoying another creative year with all my crafty friends :)

'Silent Night'

Hello crafty friends! If you're reading this post, you have probably snuck off to go take a breath and relax for a few moments amongst all the crazy preparations of this holiday season.
( I plan on doing some of that too :)
I have created an art journal page today using some beautiful vintage images from Pion Design to remind myself what we are really celebrating this magical night....

'Silent Night'

I have used the beautiful 'Glistening Season' collection:

and two images from 'Grandma's Attic':

To find a stock list of where to purchase Pion Design papers, please go here.
To visit the blog for inspiration, please go here.

This will be my last post for Pion Design, it's been a wonderful year and
I have enjoyed their sweet paper collections very much! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity.

Here are a few close ups:

I created my background with heavy gesso and a star stencil, then did some
random stamping, and then added some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays,
some gold microbeads and then finally some Prima gold mica powder.

I had a few fall leaves on my desk that I picked up in my yard, and I found the deep rich
red gave a beautiful contrast and texture to the light blue sky. I also added a few 2 Crafty Chipboard
pieces, 'Clock Face Frames' and 'Star of David'.

May your holiday be filled with love, peace and joy!
Hugs, Lisa xo
