'love story'

Hello girls...

Happy Valentine's Day to all my friends...
I hope you are all spending a wonderful day today with loved ones...

I sat down last night to create a layout about my husband and I, (our 15th Wedding Anniversary is coming up) to express how much I love him...but...as I am always the one behind the camera, there just aren't that many good photos of us together! So I found this super sweet photo of my two guys, the bond they have is so amazing...and I just love them both to pieces....

'love story'

I created this with the beautiful Scraps of Elegance kit called 'Lisa's Love Letters'. for more info on how to buy our kits, please go here....and to see all the wonderful work from the design team please go here...

Here are a few close ups...

I decided to challenge myself in three ways this time...The first challenge.... use as much from the kit and the add-ons as I could in one layout, here I think I did good with that! I have used the beautiful black paper 'Romance Novel Ch. 2' by Marion Smith as my background, I used the red Silks acrylic glaze in 'Love Struck', the Crafter's Workshop stencil, the Blue Fern Studios stamp, the Blue Fern Studios heart chipboard piece, the white Prima resin frame, the black tulle, and the sweet butterflies and tiny key by 'Renea's Bouquets'.

My second challenge was to do something really different from my usual style...
as soon as I saw this gorgeous sketch on one of the blogs I love to visit I knew I had to give it a go as it had the most perfect way to use the black tulle that came in the kit...to sew it to the page!

The blog is called Scrapkopilka, and I really really loved all the beautiful work here...talk about a huge dose of inspiration! For more details on this challenge please go here...

My third challenge in this 'boy' layout was to not use flowers...well, here I failed...but I tried! I wanted to make something really arty and kind of abstract, but it was just missing something....so I added two flowers, at least they were black and gray, and not too girly :)...

That's all for now....BIG hugs...Lisa xo

'eight'

Hello there! So glad you stopped by....

I am in love with editing photos on my iPhone and playing with the colors, so I came up with these photos of Liam that I took the other day, looking quite serious. I was loving the pinks and oranges and reds and I thought of the Prima Sunrise Sunset papers and it was just a perfect match. I think they are my all-time favourite Prima papers. Ever.

"eight"

I saw that the Once Upon a Sketch theme this month was the men in our lives....well my life revolves around this little guy, and since he turned eight last month, there have so many changes, it's been hard to handle! I wrote some journaling on the back of the layout...'Liam you are growing up so fast! You are still a sweet and kind boy who still gives me a cuddle, but you are growing more and more independent everyday....turning eight is really bring some changes....love you more than you will ever know ;)....'

Here is the challenge this month....

Hi everyone! Welcome to our second reveal of August Challenge :-)
Thank You for all wonderful entries in our gallery! We love them all and we ask for more :-)

Have fun and play with us :-)
And now take a look at all those amazing inspirations from our Team 2!

Journalling Theme: "The men in our lives..."

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

I changed the sketch a little bit, I used two photos, just split them up.
Here are a few closeups....

I used some of the new Memory Box dies I bought, little tiny delicate vines and leaves, I thought they would look pretty and also symbolize how my little boy is growing up!

Thanks for taking a look, and enjoy the day....
Hugs, Lisa xo
