Pauline

Good morning girls....I thought I would share my other two March projects made for Blue Fern Studios. The first one is a layout I created using a vintage photo of my mum looking so sweet and so brand new!

"Pauline"

Here I used several Blue Fern Studios chip boards that I painted gold and then stamped. I used bits of a vintage magazine that perfectly matched the photo and did lots of painting with pink and purple mists mixed together.

I also created a mixed media card for St. Patrick's Day...

Here I started with some Blue Fern Studios paper as the base and then misted in green and gold with lots of stamping in the background. I really love this chip board called Blooming Foliage...I painted it with gesso and then lightly with the green and gold mist.

Thanks for stopping by,

(love these) Memories

Hello! Dropping in to share my latest layout for Blue Fern Studios.....
I really wanted to experiment here and create some rich textures.

I started with a piece of Blue Fern Studios paper called 'Signature' and then created texture with heavy gesso and a stencil, then sprayed the paper with water and Ranger ink in Vintage Photo. I love how everything combined together to create a watercolor effect. Check out the new paper line and some adorable new chip board designs here, and the blog full of so many projects here.

Here are a few close ups:

Thanks for looking!

Lucky

Top o'the morning to ya! (Sorry, I couldn't resist that....)
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope everyone has a happy, lucky? day today.....
I have finally conquered my fear of blank white
cardstock and created.....

"Lucky"

This layout is a triumph of sorts for me. For a long time I have admired beautiful
layouts that start with plain white cardstock. I wanted to do something clean, white, and
very graphic with a minimum of colors and then accents of black and white. I tried
and nothing clicked, I felt stuck in my comfort zone of patterned paper
and lots of flowers packed in for good measure. I had this idea in my
head and just was determined to do it and I did! It's hard but rewarding
to push yourself design wise....How about you? Have you seen something
you want to try that's a challenge?

I saw the Berry71Bleu blog had a challenge this month with an Irish theme....
Cathi and all the ladies at Berry71Bleu are just so sweet and there is
always so many beautiful inspiring projects to be found over there.
This strange lady is Susanna Pollock and she is my husband's
Great-Great-Great-Grandma born in Ireland. I am so 'lucky' that his ancestors
immigrated to America....my life would be so very different if they hadn't! LOL
You know how much I adore old family photos, you can only imagine what their lives were like....

I used green mist from 13 Arts, green Twinkling H2O, Silk paint in Emperor's Gold,
some Blue Fern Studios chipboard called Jeweled Trinkets and Marrakesh Panel which I
painted black, lots of washi tapes and stamping and I used a Prima Lace Doily stencil with
heavy Gesso on my background.

Here is the challenge.....

Luck of the Irish March Challenge by Cathi O'Neill

Hi!! Cathi here!! Now, seeing as it is March, month of St. Paddy's Day and I live here in Ireland, I thought I would make my challenge one with an Irish theme!!

This month we'd love to see you do a project with:

Green (as a dominant color, doesn't have to be the only color!)
the word Lucky or Luck,
and a bit of Irish lace (any bit of lace or doilies!)

See you soon!

1957

Hello there! I am so happy it's the weekend, time to relax and create....
I found a beautiful sketch over on the forum at The Flying Unicorn and I
thought I would join in the fun, I love sketches, it gives me a starting
point and then things just flow from there......

"1957"

Love this old photo of my Dad, his mum, his brother Richard and his sister Jennifer.
I need to ask him about this photo...all I know is the year it was taken, cool car
right? I used Authentique paper, Petaloo blue flowers, a Lindy's Stamp Gang mist called
Bucaneer Bay Blue which had some beautiful gold running through it and a few
pieces of Blue Fern Studios chipboard called Leafy Page Accents which
I colored with mist and then coated with Ranger clear Crackle Paint.

Here are a few close ups:

See you soon!

Summer Memories

Hello girls! I hope you are having a great week....I am stopping in today to share
a layout I created for the February Mood Board over at Maja Design....

"Summer Memories"

I love this old photo of my father on the right, his sister Jean in the middle, and then
their mother, my grandma Dorothy on the left. When I printed this photo it had a
beautiful purpley tone to it, and then I realized it would go so nicely with these
Maja Design papers called 7th of April from the Vintage Spring
Collection and the paper Memories from the Vintage Summer Basics
collection. I am in love with Maja papers, soft creamy cardstock with
the most beautiful patterns. You can visit them here. The photo in the corner is of West
Minster Abbey in London which is perfect for my English grandma. I used some Blue Fern Studio
chipboard called Quatrefoil Garden Panel which I painted white and cut
up into pieces and some Prima flowers. I tried to go a bit bolder with the inks here,
I think I went a little too crazy, but you don't grow if you don't try.....so....

Thanks for taking a look!
