Happy Thursday everyone! Today is a new challenge at Cardz 4 Galz.  The theme for challenge #114 is:

Who doesn't love to use kraft paper? I know you all might be thinking "kraft- galz???" Well kraft can be for galz too. Right? Who doesn't like kraft?

You have two weeks to play along at Cardz 4 Galz. In honor of my joining the team, I hope you will play along and share your kraft creation!

Masculine holiday

I am getting in that holiday mode. The carols are going to tuning up on Paandore the day after Thanksgiving.

I am working on my prototypes for my cards this year. I usual have 5-6 designs because I get bored easily mass producing the same cards. At Inkspirational that had a great challenge that got my juices flowing. You are to make a Christmas card using neutral colors.

BAM!!! I ran and grabbed my Tim Holtz treeline die and BAM, this card came together. I added the star because it just needed something else to make it stand out. I have quite a few guys to send cards to and this is going to be the go to card for that gender.

Head on over to Inkspirational for this fun challenge.

Exciting news!

One of the challenges I have been playing along with the most lately has been the Male Room. It is challenge site dedicated to making cards for guys. How much fun is that! They recently had a design team call and I thought, "what they hey, I am gonna try out." And guess what I made it!!!

So today is my first official challenge as a DT member. What  fun challenge to start out with.

CHALLENGE#08.png

You have to use letters or numbers in your work. This challenge gave me the opportunity to use my new set of alphabet dies from My Favorite Things that I got at the Heirloom Rubber Stamp Convention.

Now, I know there is some hearts on this card, but I think the sentiment and the kraft card makes it guyish. Is that a word- "guyish"? I think it should be.

I am saving this card to give to my guy for our 28th anniversary that is coming up at the end of May. Because he is my #1!!

Sooo in honor of my being on team at the Male Room, I hope you will play along for this fun challenge!

Awesome Birthday

While it is still warm and humid it is overcast and the trees are beginning to yellow. Fall keeps creeping into my art and cards. This card perfect for my brother Bill's September birthday was in response to a couple of challenges, especially for Shopping our Stash where the theme is "for the boys".
CASE Study is featuring the last week of inspiration from Jennifer Maguire. Here is the inspiration card:

I took a few liberties with the sketch. I thought of adding an embellishment or two, but I like the simplicity of the sentiments being the total focus.

Over at CAS-ual Fridays they are celebrating new design team members and the challenge is kraft and text. I thought it appropriate to use CAS-ual Fridays's RAD stamp set.

I am going out on a limb entering this card at Just Add Ink, where the challenge is to just add coloring. I did add coloring, using Distress and Momento markers. I used a technique I showed in my last post.

Every now and again Miss Pinkie insists on taking center stage. For some reason she really liked this card and wanted her picture taken with it. Must be the coloring on the card!

Have a fabulous Labor Day weekend and if you must labor I hope it is with an ink pad in one hand and stamp in the other!!

P.S. Chana over at 613 Avenue Create asked me to post this card. Chana, I am happy to do so, Hope everyone enjoys it also. The theme includes spotlight stamping, well... its kinda like a spotlight, I am spotlighting the words- hee hee hee..... :)

Epic Dude!

Guy cards... where do you start? Despite taking the His and Her class from Jennifer Maguire and Kristina Werner, I still have a problem with them.

This week's Fusion Challenge just spoke "guy" to me.

You are probably wondering where was the "guy' in the challenge? I think It was the colors. I was able to use a few new stamp sets. I used the Papertrey Ink Watercolor Wonder that I borrowed from a friend (I sooooo have to get this set now!). I added the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays Rad set. I had no idea what to use for my image, when I came across a retired stamp from StampinUp. Perfect! Just love when the stars align! ( didn't I say that in another posting?!)

I am so totally set for a birthday card for my good buddy Ryan's birthday this summer- especially since he is so totally epic!
