Hanging for Christmas

Happy Christmas everyone! Never too early to start your planning for next year. So how about joining us for The Christmas 24 Challenge. Join us every two weeks for a Christmas challenge and have a start on your holiday cards with 24 cards.

Today's theme for Christmas card is:

Heat or Dry Embossing

My  card uses something old and something new. The new is the Hero Arts "Nordic Holiday Bold Prints" stamp and the old is the Tim Holtz "Retro Ornament Dies" which I used as a stencil and for the die cuts.

I love how the subtle embossed white background pops beneath the stenciled ornaments.

You have two weeks to play along for the Christmas 24 challenge of heat or dry embossing. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Masculine holiday

I am getting in that holiday mode. The carols are going to tuning up on Paandore the day after Thanksgiving.

I am working on my prototypes for my cards this year. I usual have 5-6 designs because I get bored easily mass producing the same cards. At Inkspirational that had a great challenge that got my juices flowing. You are to make a Christmas card using neutral colors.

BAM!!! I ran and grabbed my Tim Holtz treeline die and BAM, this card came together. I added the star because it just needed something else to make it stand out. I have quite a few guys to send cards to and this is going to be the go to card for that gender.

Head on over to Inkspirational for this fun challenge.

Winter wonderland

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday so far. I had a fabulous one. This was the first year I was ahead of the game. The tree was up and decorated, my cards were done and mailed and gifts made 2 weeks before Christmas!! Unheard of!!

So with Christmas 2016 under my belt, I decided to get back to blogging a bit. This card was a last minute card that I made with a Tim Holtz die that I forgot I had. I decided to use the negative for this simple but elegant holiday card. I only sent this card to one person and will be using this idea for my cards next year.

I entering this into my alma mater  Happy Little Stampers, the "anything goes with dies" challenge.

Another fav challenge site, Shopping our Stash is looking for "winter themed, but not not Christmas related" Do you think the star on the tree will disqualify me?!!?

Donna from Cards in Envy asked me to post my card for their "celebrate the  season" challenge. How could I resist?!!?😀

I am hoping to spend the next few days doing some serious stamping before school starts back up.

Check back in soon,

The Male Room Challenge #22

I had to go through my stash to find hard wear for today's challenge at The Male Room.

I came across some old Tim Holtz gears. My plan was to use them to create a Christmas tree. Well that was so not working and I had to come up with a plan B.

I kept looking at them and realized they were all different like snowflakes! Thus my card was born.

My best buddy's husband is an avid bike rider. He is out riding for 25 miles or more  most weekends. His birthday is on December 24. This will be the perfect card for him. I showed his wife and she was so jealous that she hadn't thought of this idea first

Soooooo dig out some eyelets, brads or any hardware and show us your creations at The Male Room!

Oh those crazy birds and a new look!

Oh those crazy birds of Timmy! I have a friend who isn't the biggest fan of all things distress and of Tim's style. Soooooo when she told me she just LOVED the crazy birds by Tim, I had to check her for a fever!

They are the rage of the stamping community and so hard to find. A wee hint- you can find them on Amazon!

She brought them with her to annual girl's stamping retreat and soon everyone were using them. I needed to make a good luck card for of my nurses who was getting a new job and I thought the crazy birds were be perfect!

This card had everyone in stitches, from the crazy birds themselves to the wiggly eyes!

This is clearly a must have stamp set for all stampers!

Hey- did you notice all the challenges here at The Creative Studio? I had a bloglift! My good buddy Mynn from the House of Cards did a bit of plastic surgery on my blog and created this CAS and sophisticated blog make over. I could not be more happy. It is so cool and fresh. Mynn does not only do blog make overs she also has her own online digi and designer paper business. Check it out here.

Let me know what you think of the new look!
