Tuesday Spotlight

This girl we have in the Spotlight today is very much a Simply Sassy fan♥
I asked her to make a new Sassy project for the Spotlight and she sent me 5!!
And told me I could choose whom of them I wanted for the Spotlight..
Well how could I not choose all? Their gorgeous and so Sassy!
So prepare for a picture heavy spotlight and to be inspired by the gorgeous Sassy project
Heike has made ♥

Look at this..isn't the most gorgeous Halloween decoration ever..
She has used Best Witches

*Start by telling us a little about you
I am thirty years old and have been with my partner Ralf for 11 years now. We aren't married yet and we don’t have any children so far. But we do have 2 rabbits and 2 cats, so there is a lot of action around here anyway.
I work for a big IT company and am currently on my way to become a project manager. As I’ve never been the technical and science type, crafting is my way to balance myself and blow off all that creative steam I can’t use at work.

*When did you start card-making and what made you start?
I started card-making in January 2009. I actually never was much of a card-making fan, because I am not a huge fan of the 3D and decoupage style, which is still widely popular over here, but when I discovered some message boards and blogs where people shared their truly amazing works with stamps, I was hooked. Stamping really had everything I was missing with these other styles.
As for the reason why… probably because I like to make the things I give away myself. I have ever since I was a child. So I guess it was just a logical consequence that I would start making my own cards rather sooner than later.

Gorgeous soft colors using Bad Hare day

*What is your preferred coloring medium?
Definitely Copic Sketch markers. I completed my collection in August and now have access to the full range of colors, which is absolutely amazing. (Though there are still colors that are missing from the range, can you believe that? LOL)
I also like to use my Prismacolor Pencils on Kraft Cardstock.

Another beautiful Halloween decoration using Witches Cauldron

*What is your fave Simply Sassy stamp?
Now that question is just impossible to answer. I probably could name a favorite for each kit,
but out of all of them? Never.
But some of my favorites are: “Best Witches”, “Witches Cauldron”, “Winking Student”, “All Wrapped Up” and “Butterfly Girl”

*How did you notice the Simply Sassy stamps the first time?
It took me ages. I first discovered them when Kit 6 was released on a friend’s blog. But I was in love right away and have fallen harder and harder ever since.

Beautiful Autumn card using Apple of my eye

*What is your favourite card-making style?
I guess it’s a quirky style. I like to add lots of embellishments like flowers, punched butterflies, flatback pearls, flourishes and the like.
I also love clean & simple, but I am very bad at this type of card, therefore I just admire others who are amazing at that style. :o)

Beautiful romantic card using Hippie Love

*And what would you love to see more of at the Simply Sassy blog?
I love the blog just as it is. Just one thing I’ve been missing for the last several weeks: the tutorials. I really hope they’ll be back soon, because they really were so inspiring and fabulous. :o)

If that is not all.. I WILL have to show some of the gorgeous Simply Sassy creations from her blog too♥
Well it was hard choosing just a few as there are so many and just as gorgeous but do go visit Heike
 for more Simply Sassy inspiration..

Tuesday spotlight..

This Tuesday we have a sweet girl with an amazing talent for coloring with us.
meet

I asked her to make something for the Spotlight
and by that I'm thinking of one card or something..
So Bridget has really  spoiled us this time
Look at her gorgeous Sassy projects!!

Butterflies and Pigtails ,5th Avenue

*Start by telling us a little about you:
Hello, My name is Bridget, and I live in the wonderfully picturesque county of Cornwall, with my Patient Husband, our Malamute Buzz, and our two cats Nala and Jasmine, I have lived here all my life and I can't see myself living anywhere else, apart from maybe Scotland, the land of The House of Sugar.

*When did you start card making and what made you start?
I have always had an interest in art, but I have never been able to draw well enough to share with other people, so when I came across the craft channels on TV, and I saw the beautiful things you can make, it inspired me to have a go at making cards, at first, using Rubber Stamps, and then onto the many other forms of crafting, I then progressed onto blogging, about 18 months ago, and my eye's were opened even wider, by the stunning creations that I came across.

*What is your preferred coloring medium?
Everything....... lol, well, it depends on my mood, but I do go through phases, I might use Polychromes for a while, or Promarkers, but my favourite of favourites at the moment are copics, in particular sketch markers, I just love the range of colours you get, and the professional finish they give you, it makes you feel like you've accomplished something when you have finished your project,
I have just gotten hold of a set of Prismacolour pencils, I haven't done much with them yet, its a work in progress, but I do love the finish they give you when using them on Kraft card, so more to follow on that, lol...

*What is your fav Simply Sassy stamp?
Well how can I answer this question, I love them all, and I have all apart from 3 of them, but having thought long and hard about it,
I am going to have to say Amelia and all of the new Christmas stamps, lol, this is the most difficult question of all, lol.

*How did you notice the Simply Sassy stamps the first time?
I first noticed the Simply Sassy Stamps, when Karen introduced us to Krista's artwork on the Sugar Nellie blog and I have been hooked ever since.

*What is your favourite style (card making)?

I don't think I've really got a favourite style, I do like clean and simple, but I also like to see lots of embellishments, so I don't really think I have a specific style, I like to change things a lot so not to get bored, I like shabby chic, though I can never seem to produce a very good end product.

*And what would you love to see more of at the Simply Sassy blog?
This is another hard question to answer, because it's difficult to improve on perfection, because I think you girls already do a fantastic job, what with all the fun blog hops, brilliant tutorials and wonderfully inspirational cards, so I had a really good think about what I would like to see added and that would be a Simply Sassy Challenge blog.

Here are some other gorgeous Sassy projects I found at Bridget's blog

Thank you So much Bridget for letting us spotlight you.
And please leave Bridget some sweet comments :)

Hi Simply Sassy Fans!

It's just so beautiful and flowing - almost makes me want to grow my own hair out! haha *almost* I tried a new coloring technique which is coloring to look like distress inks with copics. It was fun to try out a new technique and I will definitely be revisiting this one. I also used the sketch at The Sugar Bowl and you still have plenty of time to enter! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

ready for a night out

Happy friday to all of you Sassy fans!

Well, the weekend is close and all those young ladies are starting to prepare for a night out. Seems like also this beautiful lady named

5th Avenue

is having plans for tonight. And whatever those are - it might be a long one. ;o)

To me she looks pretty self confident and so I thought a red dress would fit her perfectly. I also thougth about covering it with red glitter but decided against it. Instead I used some black and white leo print paper.

As decoration I made a big black flower that is covered with Glimmer Mist. I made it exactly the same way like Tracy explained in her fab tutorial yesterday.
The distressing on the red background paper was made using a text stamp by Stampin`Up, to the rest of the papers I added some Black Soot Distress Ink.
The papers are by DCWV and Magnolia, the flower was made using different Magnolia flower dies.

And these are the markers I used for the coloring:

Wishing all of you a happy weekend full of sunshine - and lots of fun if you plan your own night out!

5th Avenue Beauty!!

Hey Sassy fans!! I guess you're wondering where MT's post is today?! Well, I'm stepping in for her this fornight, just while she gets back on track with home life! But rest assured everything is fine.

Is this Sassy not one hot chick?! Sooo GLAMorous! She is called 5th Avenue and is available HERE from Funky Kits. The card base is Naturals Ivory from SU! and I have matted my patterned paper from MME with More Mustard cardstock, again from SU! I have machine stitched around the main panel and die cut two layers of labels four nesties to pop my image on.

I have coloured 5th Avenue using ProMarkers and fussy cut her out. Her brown eyes are soo dreamy and I love her long locks with swirls on the end!! ♥ I was a bit worried that her dress would look too much like skin, but it turned out okay.. I think.. sort of like a coral/ peachy colour.

The sentiment was made using a die and stamp set from PTI and I attached it to some stitched ribbon from SU! with linen thread. I created the bow using my Bow Easy tool - such an invaluable little thing - it turns an average bow into something special!

That's all I got for ya today fans! I hope you've had a brilliant weekend. Over and out, xo Lou.

Soooooooo Sassy

All though all the Simply Sassy girls are so Sassy I think this must be the Sassiest of them all,
just look at her going to her party, this girl is so Sassy I might think she could even go outside dressed like this if she's going with her girls to grab a cup of coffee..

I've colored 5th Avenue  with copic's and nothing but copic's , but as I use about hundred of them coloring one image I'm so bad at writing down the colors, shame on me as I love to see what colors other uses..
I've dotted the background, think this gives a cool effect.
The heart paper is Maja design and the pink I'm not really sure as it's a left over paper.
The sentiment is from Stempelglede and also  the stamp around the image.

I decided to try decoration the inside too, and have seen so many cards with the same image as outside
and think this gives a cool look.

Hope your all having a sweet weekend
Hugs Maria

Simply Sophisticated

Hello to all you Sassy fans!  I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday.  I have one of the new stamps from set 7 to share with you today.

I've used 5th Avenue and I have to tell you that I absolutely love this gorgeous image.  I think she looks so beautiful all dressed up and ready to party the night away!  I colored her with my copics and colored pencils and added lots of Glamour Dust to give her dress lots of sparkle.  And then I thought she needed some shoes and a purse that were as pretty as her dress, so they got lots of sparkle too.  I cut my image with nestabilities and added Glamour Dust to the edge of the image.  I added a few flowers to finish my card.  I love easel cards but I have a hard time photographing them for some reason.

You can find the lovely 5th Avenue and all her Sassy friends over at Funky Kits.
If you haven't seen Autumn's post then please scroll down because you won't want to miss what she shared with us earlier today.  Do stop by tomorrow as we'll have another fabulous tutorial to share with all of you.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Stamp:  Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy  -  5th Avenue
Paper:  Bazzill
Other:  Copics, Prismacolor pencils, gamsol, Glamour Dust, flowers, Nestabilities
