Happy birthday Dad - Creative with Stamps #41

Thursday August 1, 2019

Hello. It's time for another challenge over at
Our theme this month is DAD / MASCULINE

Note: CWS Challenges do not have many "guidelines", but please read and follow the few we do have to be eligible to win.

I know when my dad was alive he loved my flower cards so that is what I went with. I used the Tech. Tuesday clover stamp.. it's pretty masculine looking I think. I used Altenew water color paints and painted the image and die cut it out. I cut down a script scrap of Quick Quote paper and added the flower. I then stamped the Sugar Pea designs happy birthday and used My favorite things banner die. I added this to the card and then die cut the SPD dad die 4 times an layered them and added this to the card.  My hubby said he loved it so I know some lucky man will enjoy it too.

Challenges:

Happy Birthday - Sunny Day Crafting #64

Wednesday December 6, 2017

It's time for another challenge at Sunny Day Crafting #64
and the Yellow team has a new theme for you..
 "W" is for WATER

This is one of those old red rubber stamps that came un-mounted on a sheet and you had permanent grooves in your fingers from cutting them apart and close around the image..so there is no name for who this stamp was produced by.. But I love it and used it a lot. I did put it on a wood block by going to the hardwood store and cutting the chunk of wood into an appropriate size block and self adhesive foam pad and mount on the block.. any of you out there do this many many years ago??

Any how like I said I use to use this a lot.. I stamped this on Bristol paper and using my Zig markers I colored the image. I used a little Wink of Stella on the fish. To me this fish is a trout so I colored it as a trout would be.. at least the ones I use to catch in the pacific northwest. The Happy Birthday is from My Favorite Things. I thought this card would be a great masculine birthday card so I didn't want a frilly happy birthday font.  I added a couple Nuvo drops by the sentiment just to give a touch of interest. Being clear they came out back. Love Nuvo Drops.
Check out the Yellow team for some awesome inspiration.

As you like it - favorite animal and why (Salmon - living in the Pacific northwest we have salmon in our ocean and oh they taste so good. one of my favorite fish to eat)

Welcome back for another challenge at Craftaholics R Us #45

I love Art Impressions images so using an old image that is a wood block rubber stamps I created this fun card. I stamped the guy and colored with copics. I added the wood floor with just swipes of the copic pen and then it looked bare so I added the My Favorite Things dog. The frame and sentiment is by Tech. Tues. stamped with Stampin up green ink. I then cut the image and background with Lil Inker stitch dies.

Inspiration Destination #135

Wednesday October 4-17, 2017

Good day.. Hope you're having a wonderful day..

We have another challenge for you at
It's ANYTHING GOES

Our sponsor for these two weeks is Rick St. dennis

I am using the image "Bertie".. I thought this is such a funny fun image. I couldn't think of a sentiment to use. I am sure I probably have one but my mind just couldn't figure one.. but I think the squirrel says it all and Bertie expression..
I colored the image with copics and used the Simon Says Wonky die. I added my cloud template and called it done.
This was so simple to create. I didn't think Nuvo drops or twine would benefit the card so it's pretty simple. Simple is good.
I hope you check out the DT creations. They do awesome work and there's plenty inspiration.

You are my HERO - Sunny Day Crafting #54

Wednesday September 27, 2017

Welcome back to another challenge at Sunny Day Crafting #54
"M" is for MALE

I am on the Yellow team so it's my turn to give you some eye candy.. LOL Inspire you.

This is my inspiration for you.. I wanted to make a MALE card using colors and sentiment. I found some scraps from Tim Holtz designer paper pad.. So using My Favorite Things stitched squares I cut out a few. I then thought hum what should I do for the background.. So took Ranger distress inks and inked up the card stock and added some water drops. Then I laid out the squares so they were eye pleasing to me and adhered them. I stamped the Simon Says coffee cup on some more designer paper (isn't it beautiful??) and fussy cut it out. Phew. sure glad it was easy. I'm so use to dies I get spoiled. I added copic pen for the coffee part and glossy accents. I added this to the card and stamped and embossed in black the Simon Says sentiment.
I completed the card with some brown sequins and added some Nuvo drops to the center of each.. I think it's a great male masculine card for the hero in your life..  "M" is for male

It's your birthday Rock and Bowl - Creative with Stamps #17

Tuesday August 1, 2017

Welcome to another month long challenge at

Our challenge for this month is Boys to Men..
make it masculine..

OH MY I had so much fun making this card.. I knew I wanted to use this fun guy from Art Impressions.. I stamped him first and since he is bowling I needed to make a bowling alley look.. So thought and thought and this is what I came up with.. It's a single layered card except for the bowling pins..

I used a T- ruler and did the lines at the bottom which turned into the bowling lanes. The dark blue represents the alley sides and then the wood floor. I added a line up from that for the wall border. I then masked off below the red wall border and using my large Stampin Up circle stamp I did the wall decoration. I  colored everything with copics. . To give the back wall some interest I did wavy lines. I colored the man with copics and stamped the sentiment on the wall with Hero arts black. I stamped the bowling pins and fussy cut them out and foam tape on the center pin. I put glossy accents on the bowling ball and pins.  This card took a long time to create but I love it and pleased with the scene. I hope I inspired you to a create a masculine card. Head over to the Creative with Stamps site and see what the Design Team did. Remember to use a stamp on your card.  Have fun

Celebrate - Creative with Stamps #16 - Celebrate

Saturday July 15, 2017

Welcome to mid month reminder at

Mid month reminder that we still have Celebrate theme challenge going on.. You have time to enter your creation.

Sticking with the graduation theme for card.. I made another using the male silhouette die from Impression Obsession.. I took some watercolor paper and added some Ken Oliver color burst powders and spritzed till I got the effect I wanted. I dried and using Marianne tag die cut it out. I added a Gold brad to the tag hole.. I then took my Celebrate Stampin up stamp and added it to the side of the tag. I then mounted the male grad to the tag. I dry embossed the blue and went around the edges with Quick Quote ink to distress the edges. I added foam tape to the top and bottom only of the tag and mounted it to the embossed front. I measured out a gift card and rounded the corners and wrote gift card/money so who ever uses this would just remove the example I made and add their own gift card or money.. I thought it was a good idea. Simple and fun.  I cant wait to see what you all make for a celebrate card..
(funny in the brad you can see me taking the photo.. LOL)

Wednesday May 17, 2017

Welcome to another challenge at Stampavie and More #287  Our challenge run for two weeks.
The theme for this challenge is MASCULINE = CARD FOR MAN OR BOY

This is my card. I used a piece of Kraft and stamped some Hero Arts leaves with Stampin up light green ink. I then used a frame from My Favorite Things and added it to the Kraft with foam tape. I stamped the Simon Says stamps and colored them with copics and fussy cut them out and added them with foam dots. I used a scrap of black and cut this silhouette die from Taylored Expressions and added it to the card. I think the Dude card will be good for a boys birthday or even a man..
I hope I have inspired you. Please head over to the Stampavie and More challenge blog and get some more inspiration from the Design Team. Fathers day is coming up this would be a great time to make a masculine card.

I love you - Monika and Billie challenge for each other

Tuesday May 16, 2017

Well it's time for me and Monika to challenge each other.. This time Monika (Creative with Monika)  chose the theme.. Masculine.. I think because she knows I have issues with Masculine cards..LOL  She is so good at Masculine cards.. Me nada..
I made my card and showed my hubby and he said "little girly isn't it?".. WHAT??? I have been watching the news and looking at guys ties to see what they are wearing.. I saw ties with nice bright colors so to me they were perfect. He said the coffee cup was a little girly also.. No ..that is why I made it blue..   ANYHOW.. this is my card. I used my Ranger Oxide inks and stamped the Simon Says tie. I let it cure over night.. I then took my white gel pen and did little stripes, dots, circles ..whatever on a few ties to just change it up.. I then took a piece of vellum and using the stitch die from Simon Says I cut it out.. I stamped the mustache and coffee cup from Simon Says and white embossed the I LOVE from SS on the mustache. I then layered them on the vellum and added a few brown sequins. OH I added the green sticker -you-  ... I think this is great for Fathers Day, or just for someone you love.   What do you think???? is it to feminine????

Congratulations - grad

Sunday April 23, 2017

I wasn't going to post this card because I have been making a lot of graduation cards.. But I thought this is a little different than the others.. Still same with tag and being able to put a gift card or money behind tag.. but I did an embossed background using a Stampin up embossing folder.. I had a request from a friend to make her brother a green/yellow graduation card.. So I hope she likes. I did the water color smooshing Ranger ink water color tag. I used Marianne tag die and a bronze brad.. I embossed the Paper Trey ink congratulations and used Impression Obsession grad silhouette.

Caution - mood swing in progress - Catch the bug Humor Wed.

Wednesday April 19, 2017

Ok- I am not a golfer so I wouldn't know it but did you know yesterday was National Golf Day?

Wednesday is Humor Wednesday at Catch the bug. I am using the Bugaboo image called AKV golf bag.
I used a Stampin Up embossing folder and lightly ran white ink over the raised part. I thought it gave a golf ball look. I colored the image with copics and then used "0" copic clear and put it on a piece of denim fabric and laid it over the golfers pants and golf bag. I like the texture it gives.  I embossed the sentiment with SU black embossing powder and cut it apart.  I love the play on words with mood swing and golf swing.. I don't golf but I have seen on TV golfers can have mood swings for sure.. LOL

Becoming a grumpy old person - Catch the bug

Saturday March 4, 2017

March is here and so we have our first Saturday
Challenge at Catch The Bug.. First Saturday if the month is Always ANYTHING GOES

This is my card using the image Elderly Man .  You can find more awesome images at the Bugaboo Store..  I always need masculine cards and birthday ones and I have issues with making masculine cards but this one just spoke to me.. so I listened and created.. I used the Stampin Up background cross hatch and Versa Mark on the blue card stock.. I had this stitched circle left over from another project from Simon Says so I took the Stampin Up little bitty background stamp and Versa Mark and stamped it.. I took the ticket from Simon Says and using an old Rubber Baby Buggy Bumper sentiment I stamped it on the ticket and the Happy Birthday is from Simon Says.. I colored the Elderly man with Copics and added glossy accents to his classes and black glaze pen to his buttons. The cane I also took that itty bitty stamp set and stamped it over the cane to give it a texture look. I took some scrap paper and Simon Says heart die and added the hearts on the card. The solid ones I added glossy accents. I used Quick Quote inks and distressed the blue and Kraft edges.  My male birthday card is made..  I hope you can check out the Design Teams cards.. Have fun and create.

It's time to dig out those masculine images, papers, sentiments... and get a start on those masculine cards. I'm always in need of masculine cards so was happy to be able to start off the year with one.

This is my masculine card and sentiment. I used the image Professor Wiggingson.. I thought since he already wrote out Happy Birthday I would just add the Yay! It's your day. I used some masculine papers from Basic Gray and the map paper I thought was great because of him being a professor. I used copics and Simon Says sentiments.  I hope you play along.. Remember MASCULINE + SENTIMENT

This is my fun card using the image Rainy Raymond.. I know men can be compassionate towards others who are in need and thought this would be a great I'm here for you. I wanted it bright and cheery but still have the effect of the rain. I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the rain drops and then used a blue and yellow Ranger ink for the sentiment strip. I put some water spots on it but because it's not real dark it's hard to see them. I loved coloring his cloths and making him come to life. I hope you go over to Inspiration Destination and play along.
