Wow Summer is here and loving it.. Hope you're all having a great summer and doing some fun things and also getting some crafting time in..

 

We have another challenge at Stampavie and More #289 - which as usual run for two weeks..

 

LACE  is the theme

 

 

Boy I am not a lace person and most ribbons I have are just ribbons..but I knew I had some small lace.. but where???  So I dug around in my yarn box.. nope... dug around in my fabric scrap box.. nope... so looked in my doll making box  -YUP woo hoo.. I found a little zip log bag of some lace .. So I tied a strip around the top of the card. Then tied a lose knot and added it to the top of the bird house. I used HUGS die from My Favorite Things and using my cloud template added clouds. I die cut the birds and bird house from Reverse Confetti and colored with my copics. I added the sentiment also from Reverse Confetti. I used my white gel pen.  These little birds are so cute. Hope you enjoy and check out the Design Teams creations.

Welcome to a new challenge at Stampavie and More #288

It's my time to chose the theme so I chose PLAID..  Our challenges run for two weeks so I hope you play along. I love plaid.. I have made quilts with plaids because I love the variety and the look. Same goes with cards.. papers. LOVE them.

 

 

This is my card.. I made the PLAID background. I used my Kuretake Gansai paints on water color paper. I used a wide and narrow paint brush and various colors. When it was done it felt like it was missing something so I took my black Sharpie pen and just drew various black lines.(using a ruler as a straight line guide)  Then I liked it.. I wish you could see this in person. I have to admit it's stunning.  I then thought what color flower do I want to do.. so I found a Paper Trey Ink flower stamp and die and grabbed some Stampin up inks and stamped and die cut the flowers. I used Stampin up leave die. The sentiment is from PTI. I finished off with Nuvo drops in teal.. I mounted it on a piece of yellow card stock.. The black is just backing for photo shot.. It's not a part of the card.  Check out the Design Teams PLAID creations.

Welcome to another challenge at Stampavie and More #287  Our challenge run for two weeks.

The theme for this challenge is MASCULINE = CARD FOR MAN OR BOY 

 

 

This is my card. I used a piece of Kraft and stamped some Hero Arts leaves with Stampin up light green ink. I then used a frame from My Favorite Things and added it to the Kraft with foam tape. I stamped the Simon Says stamps and colored them with copics and fussy cut them out and added them with foam dots. I used a scrap of black and cut this silhouette die from Taylored Expressions and added it to the card. I think the Dude card will be good for a boys birthday or even a man..

Welcome to another challenge at Stampavie and More #286 and our challenge is PINK

 

I can't wait to see what you come up with.. There are so many shades of pinks.. Hum..

 

 

I am not a pink person so this was a challenge but a fun challenge for me.. I have this stamp set from Simon Says that was screaming to be used and I thought this would be perfect in PINKS.. since it's a magical image and I could use what ever colors I wanted.. So PINK was perfect .. I am loving how it came out.. I do love pinks and grays together. I added some Spectrum Noir to the grays and Glossy accents to the hearts - horn - stars.. I used my cloud template and Ranger ink.  Some of the hearts I used Ranger and some I used Stampin up.. but it's hard to tell which is which.. The colors are so close.. I layered a few different pink card stocks and called this card done and magical.  I hope you head over to Stampavie and More and see what the DT did for the PINK challenge..

Welcome to another challenge at Stampavie and More #285

 

Our challenges run for two weeks and the theme for this challenge

 is SPRING..  I'm sure we are all ready for SPRING so get out your thinking cap and have fun

 

 

This is my card.. I was watching a video a few months back and I saw a card design similar to this so thought yes that will work for this card.  I changed it a little to make it mine but the three circles ideas are from the video. I used the Simon Says stitched die and cut the circles out of the Kraft base. I then took a larger circle from My Favorite Things and cut three circles for the background. I wiped my Ranger Oxide inks over the circles and then sprayed with  Mr. Huey shine and let it dry. I stamped out the three animals from Mama Elephant and colored with copics and using the die for each animal. I added the circles and images. I stamped the birthday sentiment from Clear Design.. I then added Washi tape down the two sides and then added the Kraft card stock which is on foam tape. I went around the circles in a few places with my white gel pen. I used some EK stickers to help with the spring feel.  This card is so cute in real life. I hope you like and it inspires you to play along and load your SPRING card over at Stampavie and More..

Welcome to another challenge at Stampavie and More #284   Our challenges run for two weeks and I hope you play along..

I got to chose the theme for this challenge.. I chose

WATERCOLOR BACKGROUND / OPT. ADD FLOWERS TO YOUR CARD

 

 

I love doing watercolor backgrounds so this choice was not hard.  I used my Kuretake Gansai paints and watered them down and applied to the watercolor paper and let it dry.. I then got out my Flower Patch stampin up stamps set, dies and ink and stamped up a bunch of flowers and leaves.. I ended up not using them all but sure like what I did use. I used Simon Says border scallop die and the sentiment is from that same SU set. I added some Stampin up sequins and pearls. I mounted it on a green piece of cardstock. The black is just a backdrop for the photo so it stood out. This reminds me of spring with all the awesome colorful flowers that are blooming. 

So grab your watercolors and make a background and add flowers like I did or something else that you love. I hope you play along. I love seeing what you make.  Just have fun.

Welcome to another two week challenge at Stampavie and More #283 where the theme for this

challenge is PAPER PIECING

 

 

I seldom do paper piecing... so when I saw this was the theme.. Humm what will I do??? So digging through my stamps I saw this fun Simon Says stamp set.. and thought perfect.. Instead of just paper piecing the pillows. I thought why not.. lets paper piece the cat and dog.. Aren't they cute? I had the kitten head also in the print but you just lost the face so I stamped the head on a plain cream piece of paper. I found a lighter color tan for the dog and stamped his head. The head are adhered with foam dots and the body also is so they are extra thick.  I used various straps of paper for this whole card. I did use a little copic coloring to the heads to give it more depth.  You always hear how kittens are like a queen.. so I thought the EK crown punch was a nice touch. (I don't have cats because I am allergic to them but I love seeing videos and photos of kittens and if I wasn't allergic I know I would have one or two) We do have two dogs, they are hair dogs so I am not allergic to them.  :)  The hearts are EK punch and some left over from other projects.. most likely Simon Says. I like how it came out.. I hope you play along and I cant wait to see what you have created in paper piecing.

Welcome to another fun challenge at Stampavie and More #282 :

 STARS

 

 

When I saw the theme was STARS.. I knew what I wanted to do and other than the sky not being quite as dark as I pictured it in my head.. It came out great.  I know I could of made the sky darker but I did not want to lose the colors I had accomplished. I was afraid if I went farther I would lose what I have.. The sky stars and sentiment is embossed and I used Simon Says and My Favorite things stamps.. I just took a piece of paper and cut a slope and inked the ground by using different colors and moving the paper around. The image is from My Favorite Things and I colored them with copics and used a white gel pen for highlights. I added some small sequins to the sky. Oh the sentiment is from Simon Says.

Welcome to another fun filled two weeks at Stampavie and More #281 challenge: EMBOSSING - DRY OR HEAT

 

 

I chose dry and heat embossing. I used the Sizzix birch tree embossing folder and rubbed the inside flap with Soft Suade by Stampin up and embossed the white paper. The Fox's and sentiment are from Tech. Tuesday and the sentiment is heat embossed.  I had some leaves sitting around die/punched from Martha Stewart - Stampin up - Ek .. and added them behind the fox's. I added some Stampin up punched flowers along the bottom and the center is Nuvo drops. I colored these darling fox's with copics and added some white gel pen for highlight spots.  I sure hope you can play along and enter your awesome card over at Stampavie and More.. I have joined another Design Team.. Oh I am so glad I am retired.. (This is #5 teams that I am on and then Monika and I will be starting up a once a month challenge between just her and me.. But that aside.. Let me get to the new team I am on)..

 

 It's Stampavie and More.. They're in Norway.. It's a stamp design team so make sure you stamp something on your card and follow the theme.

Stampavie and More #280

HEARTS / LOVE

 

 

This is my card. I used different heart stamps. The larger one is Magenta, the other hearts are from different Simon Say stamp sets. I stamped them on Strathmore Bristol paper and embossed with glitter white embossing powder. I then took different Ranger inks and blended them over the hearts. I wiped down the card to clean off the ink that got on the hearts. I then used some vellum and die cut the chain of hearts from Tech. Tuesday. When they were added they did not stand out so I took some liquid pearl and went over the hearts and added dots to the die cut My Favorite Thing die. I then cut out the sentiment out of some silver paper and layered it four times and adhered it to the card. I added a piece of black to help pop the colors.
