Welcome back to another challenge at Creations in Pink

I hope you are playing along and enjoying creating cards with lots of pink.. 

 

 

 

 For my card I found this old paper pad. I have no idea who it's by but it sure is pretty. I think it came in a SS monthly kit and they don't have cover pages. I chose the marble background and then chose two other papers and stamped the wood block red rubber Magenta stamp and fussy cut them out and layered. I have a box full of leaves so chose some and added them to the card. The dies are Stampin Up. I had a scrap of paper from the same pad and cut out the My favorite things Thanks and cut couple more times from black and layered them. I added everything to the base and then added some pearls and glossy accents to the dots on the petals.

Our challenge is cards and anything goes

 

 

 I started with this awesome background DP.. its actually and old Christmas pad.. had snowflakes on it.. I went around the edge with Ranger ink. I then took water color paper and glopped down some Mission paints and stamped the basket.. It's an old wood rubber I have no idea who it's by.. I fussy cut it out. I then painted the wood floor and cut it out. I stamped a tree branch and painted with Mission paints and fussy cut it out. I took some paper and mission paints and just added some colors then cut out like signs and using Gelly roll pen I wrote the words. I then went around the edges with some Ranger ink to distress the edges. I took some black paper and Art Institute glitter and added to the black paper and using Taylored Expressions spider dies cut the spiders out. I then added everything to the designer paper..

Were back with news and a new challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy

 

We are now a monthly challenge blog. A new challenge the 8th of each month.. 

The theme is anything goes / cards 

(until further notice for 2019 as were not sure yet the themes if any, could still be ATG)

 

Well the kids are heading back to school and summer is coming to a close and most are back from vacations.. I know Labor Day weekend is a big weekend for us in the USA and it's kinda the end to summer fun.

 

 

So for my card I kinda kept it very simple. I used a Dylusions number and alphabet stamp and stamped the background. I then took texture paste and stencils and added this to different areas. I then stamped a Hero Arts apple and using my Mission paints painted it in and fussy cut it out. I stamped the Tech. Tuesday sentiment and added this to my card front. I think it speaks back to school..

This is another OLD wood and red rubber stamp and this one is by Paula Best.  I love that this card says it all. it has every month on it and dates.. So it was a fun simple card to make. I used my colored pencils to color it.  I used a Paper Pretties birthday sentiment and heat embossed and cut it into a banner.

Are you ready for another fun challenge?  The Orange team has a great challenge for you at Pause Dream Enjoy #32..

 theme is ANYTHING GOES

 

So digging through my pile of background papers I've done in the past.. I found this Gelli plate paper I created. I then thought Safari and I had a Giraffe image from my monthly subscription from Tech. Tues. (this was probably close to a year ago..) so I stamped the giraffe and bird and colored with colored pencils and used the die cut. I then have a red rubber tree stamp and I have no idea who it's by. it's un-mounted. I stamped this on the background. I needed something for the bottom and I have a Rubber Stampede grass/rock stamp so stamped it across the bottom a couple times. I then foam mounted the giraffe and heat embossed the sentiment and add this and the bird.  I sure hope this looks as pretty on the computer as it does in real life.  I hope you play along and create anything you want.

the theme is GET WELL

 

 

I don't often do GET WELL cards and I really need to. I know people get sick and somewhere a get well card would really help them feel better. I need to do then more often.. maybe an ATG challenge would be a good time.. Any how I have this old rubber /wood Diamond stamp so I stamped it on some light gray paper and colored with my pencils. I added some Nuvo drops. I used My Favorite Things stitch dies. I stamped the Lawn Fawn sentiment and bug. I went around the edges with Quick Quote ink on the sentiment.  I think this would really make someone feel better.. maybe a guy.. LOL my husband had a comment I will not repeat.. lol..

For my card I wanted to make a birthday card so I took an embossing folder and rubbed Ranger ink on the inside then added my Kraft paper and ran it through the vagabond .. I took a scrap of Quick Quote paper and Paper Trey ink die and cut it and added this to the bottom of the card. I tied a piece of twine and added a bling piece. The bird and hippo are from My Favorite Things and painted a year ago with my Mission paints. I added them to the card and this was done. .CAS.. a Easy Peasy card..

  theme... MERMAIDS

 

 

A friend came over and I was showing her what can be done with Ranger inks and smooshing and this is the paper I created. Now I can use it for the water mermaid theme card. That worked out perfect. I took a few rubber wood block stamps one from Rubber seed and Magenta and stamped the foliage below. I then stamped some mermaids from My Favorite Things on water color paper and using H2O paints colored them in and the leaves. I used Zig marker for the skin and cheeks. I die cut the images out and added the sentiment from MFT and the images. I completed the scene by adding some clear Nuvo drops so it looked like water bubbles.

I went in my container of painted images from Summer of 2017.. I also had thrown in a few pieces of dies that I thought would work on projects but just didn't.. So this is the card I created. I took the Paper Trey Ink doily die which was cut from Quick Quote scraps. I then had some other QQ scraps so I used Simon Says balloon die and cut them out. I added some floss and added them to the card. The Tim Holtz bird is what I painted with my Mission paints from 2017. I tied the floss around the beak. I used My Favorite Things happy birthday die and added this to the card. I added Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the balloons and HB and bird eyes. I think this would work for a masculine birthday card an my brothers birthday is next month.. hum

Are you getting excited that Summer is just around the corner if you're in this lucky part of the world?? I hope you have a great summer and if you're going on a vacation I hope it's an awesome one. If it's winter where you are.. I am sorry... unless you like cold wet winters. Sure there are those that love skiing and other winter sports. I hope it's an awesome one for you too. 

So the Orange team is back with a fun challenge at

Pause Dream Enjoy #22.. the theme is FLOWERS

 

 

For my card I used the Simon Says kit of the month stamp from last year.. I used silver embossing powder and heat set. I then used H2O paints to color in the design. I took a scrap of water color paper that I colored quite awhile ago and heat embossed the Honey Bee sentiment in white. I took some silver washi tape and added to the black card stock. I took a dark purple piece of card stock an ran it through an embossing folder then put the card together. In real life it's very pretty. I don't know how it comes across on your computer. I hope its inspired you to create a flower card.

This is the photo guide

I created my card by mostly following the photo. I started by creating my background using my ground and sky template with Ranger ink. Then I added some stamped trees (they are a red rubber stamp and I don't have the name for them). I colored them with colored pencils and I didn't like the medium green I stamped the outline them in so once I finished coloring them I went around the trees with a black pen. Using Paper Trey Ink set I stamped and die cut the bike and added the pink using Stampin up ink.. The tires and basket with Ranger ink and the ivy leaves with Altnew ink. I then assembled the bike and added silver brads on the wheels. I stamped the sentiment also by Paper Trey Ink and heat embossed.  I like the sentiment.. we should live life like it says.

LOTS OF LAYERS

 

 

So do you think 8 layers are enough for lot's of layers?? LOL... I knew what I wanted to do and because I wanted to do a rainbow color palate it made for quite a few colors and layers. I used My Favorite Things and Lil Inker stitch dies. I used water color paper and stamped the Simon Says popsicle  and colored with Mission paints. I took some Oxide Ranger inks and did a strip of color to go with the color theme and stamped the SS sentiment and cut a banner on each end. I added some Nuvo drops. I thought the card would be heavier but it's actually nice.

CUTE PHOTO GUIDE

 

This is my card. I started by using my cloud and ground templates that I have been using for years. I have a big box of x-ray film. I cleaned off the image by putting the film in a big tub with some bleach and water. This removes the photo on the x-ray.. I then cut the templates and like I said above I have been using them for years. The film holds up well. Anyway back to my card. I used Ranger ink for the background. I then stamped and colored the My Favorite Things images and die cut them out. As I was laying out my scene I was missing something in the background so I cut some trees out of scraps using Lawn Fawn tree die.. That worked out perfect. The trees are from Quick Quote scraps. I added the sentiment also from MFT.

Pause Dream Enjoy #14 we have another fun challenge for you..

The Orange team has chosen the theme  COLOR IT

 

 

I love coloring.. be it paints, pencils or copics.. I feel so relaxed as I color my images and bring them to life.  So todays challenge was easy. I started by using Ranger ink and my sky and ground template to create the scene. I then took used my Mission paints to color the My Favorite Things hippos. I used copics to color the balloons, bowtie and party hat. I added a white gel pen highlight to the images.  The sentiment is from MFT and Simon Says.  Great.. I have another birthday card completed for 2018.

I created this fun card using My Favorite Things stamps and dies. For the background I used water color paper and Kuretake paints and plastic wrap scrunched up to create the water look.  I stamped the images that are solid with Paper Trey ink (the fish/coral/sea grass) the rest are colored with copics. I planned to add a sentiment but after I was done I decided not to.. I can put the sentiment inside.  I hope this inspires you to create you card.

Pause Dream Enjoy #10

the theme is EMBOSS

 

 

So I knew I needed a masculine birthday card.. so that I what I decided to make. I took my brick embossing folder and spread the inside flap with white ink and added my rust colored cardstock inside and ran it through my machine. When it came out I was disappointed that the white got all over the bricks, but I took advantage of it and added clear embossing powder and heated it. I then liked it as it looks like the lime blotches you get in some bricks. I then took a Taylored Expressions silhouette flower die and black paper. I added this. I then took My Favorite Things sentiment and embossed it in white and added this.. I then took a gray card stock and die cut the YOU four times and layered it. .. I did not like the color against the card so I found some thick copper embossing powder and added three layers of embossing powder till it had a nice round smooth look. I LOVE the way this all came together. Perfect for that masculine card and all is embossed but the silhouette..  Hope I inspired you.. Take a look at the Orange teams creations at PDE..

Challenges:
As you like it - single /multiple layers/why? (adding just a few layers lets the sentiment stand out and simple die cut image. I like the CAS look)
